Chapter 75

[Third Person's PoV]

After the recent unsettling events, Miles sought refuge in the only place that offered comfort and support: his uncle Aaron's apartment.

Climbing up the fire escape, Miles peered through the window to check for any signs of occupancy.

Noticing the emptiness, Miles stealthily entered and decided to leave a note "Dear uncle Aaron" Miles muttered, "I gotta do something and I don't know if I can do it. I'm scared, man. I'm just tired of letting everyone down, you're the only one I can talk to"

Miles halted as he detected movement, freezing at the sight of an imposing black figure near the window he had entered.

Gasping, he observed as the figure lifted the window, prompting Miles to quietly run and conceal himself.

The prowler, the mysterious figure, stood vigilantly, scanning the area with a visor attempting to detect anomalies.

Miles cautiously moved behind a couch, avoiding the prowler who was slowly advancing in the opposite direction.

The prowler suddenly turned and locked eyes with Miles behind the couch. Fortunately, Miles turned invisible at the right moment, evading detection even from the prowler's advanced gear.

Miles' breath quickened; he covered his mouth with his hands, but fear still gripped his heart.

In Miles' mind, the only sound was the rhythmic beating of his own heart. He remained motionless, fearing any sudden movement that might alert the prowler.

The prowler tapped on his earpiece and spoke, maintaining direct eye contact with the spot where Miles was concealed but unable to detect him.

"Hello, Mr. Fisk. I have the security tapes from the tunnel right here," he conveyed, his voice resonating with a deep, robotic, and artificial tone.

As the Prowler remained engrossed in his conversation, declaring, "If the kid's out there, I'll find him," Miles began crawling backward in an attempt to escape undetected.

Unmasking himself, the prowler revealed his true face and switched to his authentic voice, stating, "You know me, sir. I don't ever quit."

Miles sat there, eyes widened in disbelief, realizing the shocking truth – the prowler was none other than his uncle Aaron.

Witnessing his uncle Aaron moving about the apartment, Miles crawled back toward the window in a frantic attempt to escape. In his agitated state, he inadvertently brushed against the leaves of a plant, creating a rustling sound as he made his way back to the fire escape he had initially entered.

Uncle Aaron's head snapped towards the window, alerted by the ruffling of his plant. Swiftly donning his mask again, he sprinted toward the window, spotting a now visible Miles—unaware that the elusive kid he was pursuing was, in fact, his own nephew.

Thus began the chase, the prowler's purple gear glowing in the night as he pursued Miles, who desperately tried to escape.

...

Meanwhile, music reverberated throughout the underground base, where Peni, Gwen, and Peter were bustling about.

Peter tapped the side of Peni's mecha and shouted, "Alright, big guy, I just need you to use your lasers on this last part, and we should all be close to finishing."

Inside her mecha, Peni moved around, swiping her control panel while leisurely chewing bubble gum.

The spider mecha lifted its leg over a small circuit board, emitting a tiny red laser for a few seconds before stopping.

"Thanks, you two," Peter expressed.

The face screen of the mecha displayed a thumbs-up emoticon.

"Alright, Aria, run one final test. How fast do the limbs respond to the neural messages?" Gwen asked, adding the last finishing touches to her suit.

"Testing," Aria said, her voice turning robotic, as she was on duty and took her work seriously.

"At the moment, it takes around 5 milliseconds for the legs to respond to the neuron signal," Aria reported.

Peter sighed upon hearing that, surprising Gwen and Peni.

"Why do you sound disappointed?" Peni asked in confusion.

"Yeah, Peter, 5 milliseconds is great," Gwen said, proud of their accomplishment.

"Oh, don't get me wrong. I know it's great. That sigh was just me being a perfectionist. I wanted it to be 0.1 milliseconds. But I'm okay with this since it was only our first try."

Gwen playfully scoffed at him, "Only you would be dissatisfied with great results."

Peter grinned before tossing something to her, which she caught. Initially confused, Gwen soon realized it was a replacement web shooter for the one given to Miles.

Both suited up with the new gear, Peter connected the final piece to his suit. Dusting off his hands, he smirked at Gwen, saying, "So, ready to try it on?"

Excitedly nodding, Gwen took hold of her new suit, declaring, "What are we waiting for? Let's try them on already."

Peter and Gwen swiftly vanished, leaving Peni to complete the final wiring towards the goober. After her work was finished, Peter and Gwen reappeared, donning their new outfits.

Gwen's suit featured predominantly white and black colors with pink and ice blue accents. Her white hood had a touch of white fur resembling ice, and something white clung to her back.

Peter's Spider-Man suit displayed a dark blue with glowing blue accents and a spider symbol. His hood also took on a blue color, and a similar feature to Gwen's was visible on his back but in blue.

"Ready?" Peter asked with a hidden smirk beneath his mask.

Gwen smirked as well, nodding. "Ready!"

Flexing their shoulders, four spider limbs simultaneously popped out from the objects on their backs. Peter's were dark blue with glowing blue tips, reflecting his electrical abilities, while Gwen's were white with light blue tips, giving them a colder appearance to represent her ice abilities.

"Looking pretty good, guys!" Peni exclaimed, appreciating their new looks.

They both thanked her before distancing themselves. Peter commanded the limbs, making them perform stabbing and scratching motions.

Gwen made two spider limbs support her, then walked with them. She jumped, curling the limbs around her protectively before landing safely.

"Hey, Gwen," Peter called out, chuckling.

Gwen looked at Peter in confusion.

Peter extended one limb toward her, asking, "Wanna touch tips?"

Gwen blushed and ran towards Peter, slashing her new limbs at him, "YOU'RE DISGUSTING! WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT!"

Peter laughed, dodging her slashes with his spidey-sense. Meanwhile, Peni shook her head, not accustomed to such crude jokes, and decided to redirect their focus.

"Let's go back upstairs and show the others; I already completed the goober," Peni suggested.

They stopped fooling around and followed Peni towards the elevator. Before they entered, Aria flashed red lights, signaling an emergency.

"Emergency! Emergency! Emergency!" Aria repeated, showing them Miles being chased by the prowler. However, the prowler let him escape so Miles could lead him toward the other Spiders.

"It looks like they have an idea where we are based on the direction Miles is running towards. Multiple villains this world's Spider-Man has faced are quickly making their way here," Aria informed them.

"Let's go; we have to inform the others upstairs!" Peni rushed towards the elevator, with Peter and Gwen following closely behind.

"We have an emergency on our hands. Miles is accidentally leading a group of supervillains here as we speak," Peter urgently informed everyone, jolting them from their initial casual state.

The news spurred them into action. "Since they don't know we know they're coming, we can be the first to strike, throwing them off their plans," Peter strategized, a sentiment the others quickly agreed with.
