Chapter Five

Alex and Peggy let out laboured breaths as they kissed in her bed, he moves and pulls her on top of him. She glances over at the clock as he gripped her thighs, she lets out a groan leaning down. Putting her lips on his, "We have to be at work in an hour."

He nods pulling her closer, "So that gives me forty-five minutes to do whatever I want to you before we have to get ready for work."

She giggles against his lips, "Well it gives you thirty minutes in bed and maybe ten in the shower." He nods flipping her over.

"That definitely works for me" Their lips moulded together as he kicks his boxers off.

An hour later the two surgeons are at the hospital going their separate ways, Peggy heads to the locker meeting up with Lexie. "Dr Yang wants us in the pit!" The brainiac tells her friend.

Peggy nods at her, "All right, let's go!" She turns heading out with Lexie missing the looks she was getting from her.

"What's that on your neck?" Lexie finally asks after a few moments.

The girl raises an eyebrow, "A hickey, have you never gotten one before?" Peggy laughs looking over at her friend.

"Of course I've had one," Lexie scoffs at her, "But where did you get a huge one on your neck?"

She smirks, "From a man, a very attractive man." She opens the door heading into the pit waiting for Christina. "When is Dr Yang supposed to meet us here?"

"I don't know" George suddenly runs into the room heading straight towards them.

"Peggy! Lexie!" The man yells moving towards them. "Sorry. Uh, have you seen Dr Stevens?"

The two girls shake their heads as they move closer to the man, "No. Have you seen Dr Yang?"

"No." He shakes his head as he reaches into his bag.

Lexie starts to ramble, "She told us to meet her here in the pit, and she's not here. I don't want to give that woman any more reasons to hate me and she already loves Peggy for some reason."

George pulls his phone out half ignoring her, "Good for you."

"I'm prepared. I'm gonna answer every question correctly. And I'm not gonna take any more of her crap." Lexie states confidently as George walks away making Peggy laugh.

"Three! Peggy!" They look over to see an annoyed Christina standing there, "Incoming, let's move."

They took the patient into an Er room as Derek checks his eyes and brain. The man who came with the patient informs them of what happened, "He got hit during a scrimmage."

"Are you the coach?" Derek asks the man.

The boy on the table winces as they cut his face shield off his helmet, "He's my dad."

"And his coach. He was charging the receiver after the kickoff. He got blocked, had his head down, couldn't see the other guy coming." The man tells Derek annoyed.

The kid interrupts immediately, "I had my head down because the guy blocking me was holding it down."

"You could've gotten past that guy." The man yells at his son.

Derek stops him immediately, "I need you to leave the room. Okay, let's cut him out of his equipment. I need the saw. Dr Grey, I need you to help me stabilize his neck and his head, please. Dr Gallagher stand by just in case." The two jump into action as Christina turns on the saw, "It's very important, Adam, that you not move your head. I need you to keep perfectly still. Don't move. Relax."

They now stood in a room watching their patient get his head CT, "I can't believe that kid's dad. I mean, his son is paralyzed, and the guy's still riding him." Lexie shakes her head as they stand together looking at the kids CT scans.

Cristina turns her head slightly, "Focus more on the medicine, three, and less on the tragedy."

"Three?" Derek turns to the resident, "Is that a nickname?" He looks over at the interns confused.

Peggy giggled slightly, "You could say that."

"So how would you proceed, Dr Grey?" Dr Shepherd asks the intern surprising Christina.

Lexie answers immediately, "Oh, um...you won't be able to operate unless you realign his spine, would you?"

"And how would you do that?" He asks her.

"Traction halo?" The grey doctor says semi-confidently.

"Very impressive, Dr Grey." Peggy nudges her friend with a proud smile making Lexie stifle hers, "Your intern years off to a good start. How's it going? How are you and Meredith?"

"It's weird, the whole family thing." Peggy glances over at her resident to see her rolling her eyes at the whole interaction, "And plus, I think she might still hate me."

Derek turns to the girl, "She doesn't hate you."

"Really?" Lexie looks over at him shocked, "Did she say that?"

Cristina interrupts them annoyed, "You know, why don't you go see if Mrs Cooley's dressings need changing?"

The attending stops her, "Yang, why don't you go see if Mrs Cooley's dressing needs changing? And take Dr Gallagher with you."

"Certainly." The resident smiles falsely, "Come on Peggy." The intern nods following her out of the room.

Peggy glances at her, "What the hell just happened? Since when are they buddy's?"
