Chapter Four

Peggy and Alex stood in the elevator smiling at each other before the doors open and the other interns got in. They keep looking at each other as they listen to the conversation happening in front of them. "I heard he saved a guy who coded yesterday, by himself."

One of the female interns was practically swooning, "He just knows things...never messes up in rounds, always has the answer." Alex looks over at Peggy confused making her smile.

The other woman piped in, "And he's so calm. I'm always terrified, but he's, like, steady."

The guy shakes his head, "Best intern ever."

Alex leans over to Peggy and whispers, "Hey, who are they talking about?"

"George O'Malley." She whispers back with a smile.

He laughs not taking her seriously, "Seriously? Don't they know that he..." She shakes her head slightly lifting her finger to her lips shushing him. He leans over to whisper in her ear, "If you want me to keep quiet you should meet me in an on-call room later."

The elevator opens making them all walk off the elevator, Alex stops to talk to Dr Stevens making Peggy walk off without him.

Peggy stood talking with the other interns as Christina sulked a few feet away from them. She had asked her what was wrong but the resident just waved her off. Dr Grey walked over and starts talking to her, it was a few more seconds before Christina finally turns to them. "One, two, three, four... follow me. Peggy go to your father's room and talk to the doctors." She sighs out walking away.

Peggy walks up to Dr Grey, "Dr Yang will be fine right?"

"Yeah, come on I'm your father's doctor so we can go to him right now." Meredith smiles at her before they all walk to Frank's room. "Good Morning Mr Gallagher!"

The man smiles at them, "Good morning doctor and there is my beautiful daughter!" He yells as he looks at Peggy.

Dr Sloan walks in right after them, "Mr Gallagher! How are you this morning?" He looks at the man lying in the bed.

"I'm feeling fantastic! When can I go home, I want to spend some time with my little girl!" Puts his hand on Peggy's shoulder making her whip her shoulder back to pull away from him. "You know she is just like her mother always trying to help people!"

Peggy looks at the attending, "Is he cleared to leave because I want to get rid of him as soon as possible."

The man looks at her confused, "Your father is cleared to leave but I would watch over his wounds for a few days."

"Okay," She nods turning to her father, "Get dressed while I go buy you a plane ticket home!" She moves out of the room as the doctors follow her.

"Dr Gallagher!" Dr Sloan calls out, "I was serious about watching his burns, we don't want them to get infected."

She looks over at him, "I heard you, sir, that's why I will call and tell my sister that and my mother can deal with it."

"You're just sending him off?" He looks at her confused.

"Yep" She nods at him, "He came all this way for money because without me home there is no one to enable his alcoholism. So I'll give him some money and send him on his way." She walks away not wanting to talk about it anymore, pulling out her phone she calls Fiona. "Hey, he'll be home tomorrow the doctors say he's fine."

Fiona sighs from the other end. Peggy can practically feel the smirk through the phone.

"Yes, actually and we did it last night!" She tells her sister to hear her sequel from the other end. "I gotta go but Frank will be home tomorrow."

Fiona says before hanging up.

Peggy sighs turning around and heading over to the nurse's station, "Hey Tyler if I give you my credit card will you buy the next plane ticket to Chicago?"

The man nods, "Yeah Peggy" She hands him the card.

"Thank you, Tyler!" She turns heading into her father's room. "Okay, Frank, your tickets being bought so I can get rid of you soon!"

The man scoffs at her, "I come all the way here to see you and end up getting blown up and all you want to do is get rid of me!" He shakes his head, "I could have died and you don't even care!"

"But your not dead, and you didn't come out here for me, your here because you need money!" She yells at him, "So here!" She reaches into her wallet and pulls out fifty bucks, "Take it but this is the last time, you want money get a job!" Tyler walks into the room handing her, her card whispering to her the flight time. "Look at that, now I got your ticket you will be at the airport for your flight in an hour so get dressed!"

She storms out of the room heading into the hallway when her pager goes off. She glances down at it and smiles when she sees it's from Alex. Peggy picks up her speed a little heading into the on-call room and finds a pacing Alex. He looks up and sees her, "Oh finally!" He moves over to her shoving her against the door quickly locking it. He grabs the back of her thighs lifting her as he smashes his lips against hers. "I really need this!"

"Me too!" She says as she wraps her arms around his neck. He moves them to a wall so no one will see the door move. "I have to deal with my father for the day what about you!"
