Chapter 1

Freddy smirked as he continued driving, not paying attention to me or my complaints.

"Drop me off here then, I'll find my way back.'' I said, as I tried to play it cool. "Please.''

The road ahead was clear and wide. Something suddenly smells fishy. He took a dive and went to the junction opposite of the mall.

"What are you doing?'' I asked, panic coursing inside me. "You're supposed to drop me off at the mall."

But he did not listen, and neither did he slow down the car. I fumbled for my purse in a hurry, feeling rather afraid and disoriented. I pulled out my phone, and began to dial.

The ringing vibrations that rented the car's vicinity caused my heart to almost stop.

"Your mom's probably looking for this back home.'' He let out with an evil laugh, right before taking another corner and driving us into a dark early.

"Freddy, what are you doing?'' I let out in a panicked voice, unable to fight the tears that threatened to spill. I should have known something was wrong when my step father offered to drop me off at the mall.

He barely wanted anything to do with me, and half the time he'd spend looking at me inappropriately. I shouldn't have gone with him, and mom shouldn't have let him take me. I just thought he was trying to be a good step father, seeing as he'd been doing a horrible job ever since he moved into our house eight months ago.

"Take me back home right now!'' I demanded, trying to master courage despite how quickly my heart was beating. Suddenly, he stopped and

Packed the car almost at the corner of a dark pavement. My senses were on high alert, as my wolf rattled inside me, threatening to surface.

For all the years we've lived in human life, unseen and undetected, was this it? Was this how our secret would surface?

"Freddy, where are you going?'' I asked, as I watched him unbuckle his seatbelt and open the door.

"Be a good girl and stay in the car, i'm going to go talk to some nice gentlemen here about business.'' He answered casually before he alighted the car and slammed the door behind. My mind was a storm of possibilities and in my heart, was a whirlwind of emotions.

All my wolf senses rang 'danger'. But I felt helpless, unsure of what to do.

Should I get out and run? What would I find out there?

We'd been running from our previous Alpha for thirteen years now. Mom said he had an obsession with teenagers and made most of them his slaves. She got me out before I became of ripe age for his sacking. And ever since, we've been living and hiding among the humans.

Had he found me? Had my step father sold us out?

Suddenly I hear footsteps approaching, I focus my wolf abilities on listening to any conversations outside but nothing seems to faze me. When the car door is opened, my step father gives me a mug smile before gripping my arm tightly and pulling me out.

"Stop, you're hurting me!'' I scream, as I try to pull myself from his grip. I did not want to be here and I did not want to witness their injustice that my stepfather wanted to do. nothing good ever came out of him. and I had lived and watched my mother lose her very incense and life trying to please him.

For six months and never understood why my mother put up with him. She was way stronger. She was powerful. Freddy was a human and we were werewolves. We had managed to keep that secret from him despite the fact that he'd lived with us for over seven months.

"You're going to like it where you're going.'' He lets out, as he drags me on the pavement.

"Let me fucking go!'' I shouted, suddenly fed up. Mastering all my strength, I gripped his arm and flipped him on his back with one movement, causing his back to painfully hit the hard floor.

"You bitch!'' He cursed, as I got up and turned to run.

Suddenly I hit a wall, or atleast what seemed like it. My escape seemed far-fetched when I tried to move from the guy in front of me yet he caught me, and lifted me up by my neck like I weighed nothing.

"Don't hurt her!'' The command carried a string of authority and demand, so strong that my wolf submitted and retracted deep into my subconscious.

The man, more of a gigantic monster with a beard that covered half his face, gently put me on the ground and let me go, causing me to gasp for air. The dark alley seemed isolated and desolated, as he blocked my view of the passing cars just a short distance away.

I wanted to run and call for help, but I was boxed in.

"She's quite feisty.'' The same voice rang again, causing my shoulders to drop and shivers to run over my cold skin. The atmosphere was pumped with his scent, a natural scent that made me want to fall to my knees and submit.

He was a werewolf, not just any wolf, but an Alpha. Or something bigger. Perhaps the Alpha King. Because his voice carried authority like none any Alpha could wield.

Footsteps trudged the pavement as I felt him approaching. The man in front of me took some steps back and bowed his head in submission.

I did not want to turn. Not so that I could meet with the horror that just injected itself into my life.

I looked at the open road ahead, and I saw my chance. And I took it.

Yet the minute I raised my heel to run, a warm big hand swovled around my waist and pulled me back towards his hard body, causing electricity to flow through me. I felt weakened, it was unlike anything I've ever felt, the sheer power of his touch and the effect of his closeness to me made me paralyzed with need.

"You can't run from me, Darling.'' He whispers against my ear, causing me to shudder. He carried an aura of fear that immediately made me want to submit. I knew that a man with such power carried equal intensity in his eyes.

"So that's it, the deal is done." Freddy comes forward, staring at whoever was behind me.

Suddenly the man who's blocked the exit looks back at Freddy, and he picks up a backpack hidden behind some trash cans and throws it to my step dad.

"A hundred and fifty thousand dollars, right?''

No one says a word, leaving Freddy's words to hang in the air. Realization clocks inside me like a magnet, making me realize what had just happened.

"You've got your balance, now disappear, old man. Before the Lycan King finds another use for you.''

Shivers ran down my spine as I heard the words from the muscled man. Slowly, I turned around, still clutched in his strong ludge arms, not having even the slightest mental will to escape. It was like I had become a slave to my subconscious. Just his voice and touch was enough to command submission and turn me into some docile pet.

There was the screeching sound of tires as my step father drove away, making me realize that he'd sunk me in this damning situation without a care in the world.

"You might just be one of my best purchases yet, little one.'' The man lets out as I meet his eyes. Horror and fear creep into me as he lets me go, and instinctively, I fall to my knees, unable to stand before him.

Something was wrong with me.

I tried to get up, to fight my knees and awaken the wolf inside me.

"You're a stubborn one aren't you.'' He said, as he squatted, and met my eyes. "Don't fight the submission or it'll break your spirit."

The words brought no comfort to me. And submission wasn't something I would give to any man.

He reached into the breast pocket of his shiny fancy suit, and pulled out what looked like a dog caller, only shinier.

When he tried to put it around my neck, I fought and tried to pull away, but my body felt numb. I felt like I could hardly fight or make my own decisions.

He brought the collar closer to my exposed neck, and as if it had a mind of its own, it instinctively assembled around my neck in seconds.

"Jessica Miller,'' The man behind me sounded. "You have been bought and are now the property of mighty Lycan King Jordan Luther, last of his name, the prince of Tyranny and chaos, and the man next in line for king ship in the trior state kingdom."

I froze, I looked up at him, and the air between us seemed to dampen.

My step father had sold me to the ruthless, merciless Lycan King.
