Jordan's POV

'Alpha, the car is here.' Simon spoke as he poked his head through the gap of my door.

'Let's go.' I let out as I got up from behind the table and straightened my coat. My shoulders fell, feeling emotionally taxed just at the thought of today's dinner.

Simon stepped back, putting enough distance between us as I walked by.

'Are the girls settled in?' I touched the ridge of the staircase, staring at my fingers, eager to catch any dust so I'd have someone to take my anger out on.

'Yes my king, they're about to go on their run.' Simon's voice came, hesitant and choked. I couldn't control how my power affected those around me. Or at least I didn't want to. It was fun to watch people crumble.

We walked down the stairs in a boring fashion. My guards averted their gaze from and paved the way the second they saw me. I was a man who attracted fear everywhere I went. Ever since I was a little boy, it became obvious to me that my species were superior, and I have taken pride in that ever since.

Getting into the back seat, the tinted windows are rolled up before we proceed to head out. With a convoy behind me, I can't help but let my thoughts trail to last night.

The new slaves I'd bought didn't seem any different than the others. Yet, with the first one, I had been forced to place a higher bid. I had not been the only one interested in the purchase, and beating the other bidders was a game I enjoyed quite much.

However, I just couldn't understand why so many influential people were interested in a simple silly girl from New york.

The car ride was bumpy, but not as bumpy as the dreaded conversation we would have at that table with my family. I rolled my eyes, already hating the predicament.

Time flew by while in the car, my mind constantly remained on the slave I bought last night. While the girl was breathtaking, I did not fully understand what made her so wanted. The werewolf officials had protested against it, and the bids they placed caused me another 10,000 gold pieces to win it. She was by far my most expensive slave, and I was going to get every dime out of her.

But first, I needed to know what was so important about her.

The car came to a halt and my door was opened. I stepped out glancing into the compound already hating the dump atmosphere.

' This is going to be messy.' someone who's but as they tapped my back causing me to turn. my brother forced a hug as he wrapped his arms around my shoulder.

I stood there awkwardly waiting for him to pull away.

' I just got grilled about why I don't have a kid yet. You're going to get it much more than me brother.'

I rolled my eyes as I entered the castle. It could be that wonder.

I could handle my parents.

Or so I thought.

...…

'Don't you think after the first try you should just get another girl.' My mother, hinting irritation, addressed my brother, pointing her stake-full fork at him.

'I love Anna.'

'And you'll love the next one. Always will.' She scoffed.

'Mom please,' Lucas slammed his fist on the table, startline them.

'I have already made it clear that I don't want anyone else. I'm not going to keep changing women like Jordan does. that's his thing not mine.' he shouted and the table was silent. My father's eyes hunted into his with such irritation and anger that the veins in his hands were visible. His influence and aura, blanketed the atmosphere around us as the servants who was standing in the corners of the dining room fell to their knees in submission.

' You're not going to insult your brother.' he roared, 'he's going to be king in less than three months and he will be accorded the respect of a king.'

Even though I didn't need him defending me, I knew better than to argue with my father. My brother has always been a pain. He is the black sheep of our family.

'Three months?' Lucas asked, causing my father's words to ring in my head again. I wasn't meant to be king until two years from now.

'Father?' I looked up at him, setting down my spoon, while I pushed my plate forward.

'Jordan, your father and I have something to tell you.' my mother quipped, causing a dark cloud of anxiousness to form over me.

'We can't wait for another 2 years before you become king.' She spit, setting down her spoon. my brother and I stayed at each other and then back at my mother. I couldn't tell whether she was joking but my parents have never been one to joke.

' What are you talking about?' I asked, clenching my fist hitting the feeling of helplessness and the unusual aura of not being in control. and I have always wanted to plan how everything would go. knowing that I had two years before I go to sit on the throne, I planned out every single day of it. Anything that deters me away from my own plans feels like a Robbery.

' Your father and I have had a discussion, and it is best to Crown you as King as soon as possible.'

'The coronation needs to happen sooner than later, son.' My father choked, squinting his eyes.

'What? Why?'

' 3 months? you want him to become King in three months?' Lucas joined, slamming his risk on the table before he got up. ' This is unbelievable.'

I remained silent as I stared around the table. no one would have told me that this was going to happen.

' 3 months is way too short.' I cut in.

' Not just 3 months. even an ear is way too short. We all had an agreement, did we not, father?' Lucas raised his voice. I did not understand why he was so angry about this. I'm the one who goes to the rest of my life being my father's shadow. cutting a legacy I wanted nothing to do with.

' My word is final.' Father suddenly said, as he signaled for the servants to come clear the table. the room fell silent. Lucas and I stayed with each other. I could not believe this was happening.

' This was not the agreement.' I spit.

' Well it is now!' Father said, almost with a satisfactory smirk. I hated his guts. I hated everything about him

' Mother, say something.' Lucas stood at this side of our mom as he rubbed her shoulders. I, on the other hand, felt rather confused.

' and Lucas,' father called out, as he stopped at the beginning of the stairs. ' do well to impregnate the gym you bought yesterday and not the other one let's girls you've been keeping in your harem.'

I grimaced, clenching my fists at my side. 'What?' my voice was a breathy whisper as I looked up at my father.

'Son!' He hollered as he paced towards me. His movements were easy and he seemed to walk much slower than he normally did. His unusual rusty temper was instead replaced by an agency to avoid any dispute. 'We all know what good your union would bring. She's been missing for years, and you found her. She's your property. The sooner you pump a child into her, the better.'

Groaning, I turned to face my mother. She turned away for instance, dropping a hand towel on the table before walking out of the room.

Nodding, I allowed myself to welcome defeat and agree with my father's command. I didn't see it any other way. I couldn't help myself.

' Why three months?' my voice chided through the hollow space in the room. My brother's steps carried him beside him as he looked up to my father for an answer. Like the child he was, always living in a fairytale.

'Because I won't be here in two.' Father grunted.

'What? Where are you going?' Lucas asked, almost with a hint of worry. He marched towards our father, but I halted in my movements. I could see right through him, and I knew exactly what he meant.

'He'll be dead in two months.' My mother, seemingly still in the room, dropped the bombshell that sent the whole room into a frenzy.
