You Want To What?!

I couldn't sleep at all that night. The fact that in a few months, I could be in the worst pain imaginable, tore me apart. I turned over and stared at the ceiling, my head started to pound as I drifted into sleep.

Thoughts of Axel and my past flooded my dreams, a shadow lurked in the same wood were a ran from the fire. Shadow, there's a shadow. I tossed and turned, why does it look so familiar? My head pounded harder, I felt terrified, I could feel the sweat dripping down my neck. The fear felt so real, it was a mass amount coming at me at one time.

I bolted up in bed, breathing heavily I grabbed the glass of water beside my bed and gulped it down. The birds were already awake but the sun hadn't come up, yet the sky was still a pale robin blue. It was dimly lit outside but it was still only 5 am.

The microwave beeps dragged me back to reality. I opened it and pulled out my food. I scarfed down my meal, washed my face, got dressed and made my way to the cafe down the street.

It was 5:51 by the time I had arrived at the cafe, ordered a coffee and started writing my history essay I missed two days ago. I had an hour and a half to get at least half of my assignment finished. The essay if due in two days but it was better to get it done soon since it was so simple anyways.

"What are you doing here sweets?" I looked up, I scooted back in shock. Sitting right in front of me was Axel. My body stayed tense as I shifted my seat back and continued to observe Axel's posture and what seemed it be his everyday wear.

He was wearing boots, Dock Martins I think, his jeans were black too, they were ripped and seemed pretty new. A cream and navy blue knitted sweater covered up a light blue collared button up that was tied behind a dark brown work apron.

"You work here?" I took a sip of my coffee and held the mug under my nose. I take a deep breathe before opening m eyes, he's staring at me. "Do you like your coffee?" His smile reveals a set of sparkly white teeth, "I made that especially for you." I perk up, "What do you mean?" He laughs and answers, "I changed up how I normally make peoples coffee. The grounds are a bit finer and it's sweeter, unlike your adorably bitter personality." I take another sip, it is different.

I glare at him, "Won't you get in trouble for giving me special treatment?" I place down my mug and pick up my pencil to begin writing again, "Trouble? I own this place." I freeze, 'own this place? What does he mean?' I paused, my mouth fell open as soon as I realized what he meant, "You mean, you own this place," I gesture to all around the cafe, "Like, you pay the bills here and stuff?" I smile slowly grew on his face, "Yes ma'am, I am the owner, boss and manager of this cafe."

The steam from my coffee kept on rising from the cup and started to warm my nose a little too much. I snap out of my trace and move my coffee to my right side. I begin to gather up my belongings and pack my bag.

"You're leaving me hanging?" I look down to see him pouting, "You know, pouting isn't going to make me stay," I stack my things up by size and haul them into my arms, "If anything, it makes me want to puke." My things shift as I stand up and look at Axel one more time, he's smiling. I scoffed and head out the door. I own this place, really? I highly doubt it. It had gotten warmer as I started the walk to school so I wrapped my light grey, oversized hoodie, around my waist before continuing the journey.

School was boring as always but I guess that didn't stop Axel from following me around like always. He was late to class, 'I guess he had to finish his shift before he came to school.' I rested my head in my palm and glanced out the window, "Hey there." A shiver went down my spine. I could feel him breathing on my neck.

Wait, I snapped my head to my right, no one was moving, "Ahhh, you finally realized that everyone is frozen." I felt pats on my head, "I had some fae friends help me out." Axel stood up and walked up to my left. 'What is he going to do?' I was startled and didn't was to take any chances of getting hurt in anyway.

Axel knelt down and pulled that seemed like freshly cut daisies from inside his jacket, "Would you, Kaitlyn Howard, go on a date with me?"

I am again, very sorry for the delay in publishing!
