Solving the water crisis

Shi Lung wasn't about to sleep all night because of the injury in his legs after the fight against the Profound beast Horde while defending but even if he was feeling painful the fatigue was more than enough to force him to sleep by morning but not long after he was In deep sleep he heard heavy sounds from outside that didn't allow him to sleep no matter how much he wanted to ignore the sound before long the pain again took over his legs making him angered to no end.

With an angry face walking outside the house and following the direction of the noise he soon discovered it's coming from the village square where someone is digging a hole and constant mud can be seen flying towards the surface.

Although he was rather surprised by the unexpected appearance of a hole in the middle of the village, nonetheless he was more curious to know who can be so brave to dig a hope at the village square and what do you know it's none other than his son and it looks like the little fool didn't even notice his arrival and even dared to throw some mud at the face of his father.

As if the pain, lack of sleep, and the sudden noise first thing in the morning wasn't enough the little fool had to through the mud at his face which was more than enough for him to lose all his patience before he asked with anger on his face "Kai what are you doing?"

"I am digging a hole, dad." says Kai without a care in the world as he continued doing what he was doing.

"Son, I, your dad is still not dead that you need to dig a grave for me, at least have some belief in your dad." says Shi Long with twitching lips as he held his urge to jump down in the hole to hit his son black and blue but the pain in the legs is the only thing that's restraining him from doing so, if not you can be sure, Kai is already begging for mercy from him.

"What are you talking about dad, I am not digging a grave for you." says Kai with twitching lips not understanding why would his dad think something so strange since even he knows an injury to the leg is not something that can kill a person so why would his dad think someone so weird.

"I am sure you aren't son." says Shi Long with a smile that isn't a true smile before he asks again "So can you explain why are you digging a hole in the village squire this early in the morning and no one seems to care about it?"

"That's because I have taken permission from grandfather and promised to fill the hole if I can't succeed in what I am doing." said Kai as he again started digging the hole.

"And what do you think you will accomplish after digging the hole?" asked Shi Long with a curious face not understanding if the mental condition of his sons went wrong after getting afraid from the beast Horde attack yesterday and not he started regretting his decision to take Kai to the city for future experience.

Yes, the kid has made a friend or two but if he became mentally unstable what is the use of the connections and experience.

"Actually, dad I am not digging a simple hole but what I am digging is called a well.

You see the other day when we visited the city I met a man who introduced himself as a merchant from a very far away city and hearing the water problem in our village he suggested if we dig enough far into the ground we can reach the water level in the group and use it in the to you needs." Kai slowly explained everything to his dad but instead of telling him, its knowledge from Earth he decided to give the credit to some strange to make his story more believable.

"I understand son and don't worry about filling the hole once you fail because I will help you at that time." understanding why his son suddenly digging the hole Shi Long let out a sigh before he sat beside the hole and making a promise to help since it's his obligation as a parent to help his son who needs his help and it was also him who took Kai to the city where someone made a fool out of him.

Although he will not explain to his innocent son about his mistakes for now since he doesn't want him to lose his belief in others however once Kai is older he will start teaching some common problems and the craftiness of the world.

"Thank you Dad." says Kai from below before he continued digging the hole and couldn't help but get amazed at his stamina and strength that allowed him to continue digging for so long without getting tired even after digging almost 5 to 7 feet in the ground and if it was his past self where he was in his 20 and hardly had the energy to dig a 3-foot hole not to mention the hole he will dig very soon making him think 'It was great that I was born in the family of a farmer and have a strong body from working hard from childhood.

If I was born in the city then it is undoubtedly true I would be far less strong than I am right now, maybe I would be even weaker than those kids who were bullying Lingxi.'

Another hour and a half went by while Shi Long and Kai Long are chatting with one another but the digging never stopped when Kai's mother who has returned from the farm and received breakfast from her mother since she is injured in one hand walk to the village square before asking "Shi Lung what the hell are you and Kai doing from the early morning?"

"Dear, our son is digging a well and hopes to solve the water problem of the village." explained Shi Long with a serious face as he looks at his wife after a sigh.

"What are you talking about?" asks Kai's mom in confusion as she looks at the flying mud that came out of the hole before hitting her on the face when she heard her son's excited shout "Water, water, Dad I can see water coming out!"

"You must be joking." says Kai's parents in unison when they saw water flowing out of the hole on the ground.

"No, it's true!"
