Chapter sixty five 65: PUMPKIN

In morning Adria woke up from her ringing phone "Hello." adria answered lazily.

"Hey pumpkin."

"Oh my! sis it's been so long." she sat up immediately.

"yeah, how are you doing?."

"I'm good wbu, it's been really long I've been trying your line but it didn't go through."

"Was taking care of some problems, happens that someone got a hold of your number and so I had to cover your tracks."

"Huh."

"I also received a magazine with your pictures and a website with your details so I had to clear all those."

"Oh thanks but I already did that."

"I know you cleared it there but what about the ones before that, your Nigerian scandals, your arrested and all that."

"Ohhh ok.... I'm sorry I couldn't come back i-."

"I'm glad you chose to stay Adria, that's the safest place you could be now."

"Hmm I know."

"I just want you to be strong alright."

"Hmm."

"I'll hang up now as am being trailed and watched."

"Alright."

"Love you."

"Love you more."

Adria dressed up and went to work, today Asachi was coming back when she arrived the place was empty but later asachi came back, they related normally.

"Hey."

"Hey ash how did the trip go?."

"Not too bad, it didn't take more than a day to fix the problem."

"Alright that's nice."

"What about you, have you been posted to any company yet?."

"No not yet Mr lu said he'll get back to me."

"But-." they got interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Come in." asachi said and someone came inside "umm the boss said I should give you this Adria." she handed a file to Adria.

"Oh ok, what's it?." Adria said as she began to open the file.

"You've been posted to a company." the lady who handed her a document replied.

"Oh really." adria said.

Asachi said as he smiled halfly to the lady a gesture for her to leave. "Thanks."

"Hmm, welcome back asachi."

"Hmm thanks." and with that the lady left.

"So where did you get?." asachi asked.

Adria had a mild smile on as she opened the file and read through it but her smile faded immediately when she was done reading.

"What's wrong?." asachi said as he stared at adria's reaction.

"I was posted at the Lee cooperation, how can I go to that horrible guy's company I'll be dead before I get back." Adria scoffed.

"Why would they post you there that's not fair I think Mr lu made a mistake I'll talk to him hold on."

When they annoced to adria that a post has been chosen for her and handed the file to her, she and asachi were happy till they saw the company she was posted to.

"What the-." Asachi fummed as he went straight to Mr Lu's office, he didn't knock neither did he greet he went straight to the point.

"Hey asa-."

"Why would you send her there?."

"Huh who?."

"Why did you send Adria to that bastard!."

"Watch your words and tone young man, he offered to carry a person and I thought it would be best if adria went as she's smart, she'll get a learn from the best company in Asia it's for her benefit."

"You know Adria finds it hard to communicate in new environment and I wanted to be able to assist her in her new company but sending her to the Lee's how will I be able to do that huh."

"She'll do well on her own, Asachi give her a breather, she likes it."

"She doesn't want that place either."

"Well she didn't complain."

"About that..." Adria who had been standing at the door spoke up "I'm on Ash's side."

"Ugh Adria."

"I don't want to go there."

"Your gonna make things hard if you refuse this Adria."

"Please send someone else sir Last time I met that Lee of a guy he was arrogant and I tried to control myself I wouldn't be able to keep up with the patient person act if I stay in the same environment with him."

"Alright, I'll see what I can do."

"Thanks Sir."

"But that means we don't have a company for you yet."

"I don't mind sir."

That week Mr lu changed the applicant, he sent someone else to Lee's company but that same day Lee rejected the person and sent a message to Mr lu stating that he would get really pissed if any other incompetent person was sent to him, Mr lu sent back a message trying to explain that Adria rejected to learn there, but with the warning from Lee Mr lu knew he had no other choice but to put Adria back. Asachi and adria wasn't happy about this and they discussed with Mr Lu.

"But I can't go there." Adria said with pleading eyes and asachi backed her up "His company isn't even in registration with our company directly so why does he try to control what happens here too."

"He offered to help he's not ordering or controlling anyone the people we sent were incapable so he sent that back."

"But isn't it the companies job to help strengthen there slacks? if not so why are we sending them there."

"You start next week Monday Adria." Mr lu said as he wasn't ready for any other argument.

"Bu-."

"No room for discussion." and with that it was finalized.

Monday

Adria spent her week thinking and preparing for her transfer she wasn't happy about this but asachi supported her and assured her that he'll be just a call away.

The day came and asachi accompanied her to the company, they met Sofia at the entrance, Adria was about to approach her but Asachi held her back, Adria found akward as she wasn't aware they broke up she only knew they had little issues, she tried going to greet Sofia again but asachi drew her back and explained to her that they were no more together, Adria was stunned and stared back at Sofia who was staring at them Adria felt a bit sorry as she knew Sofia liked asachi too much.

"Why did you guys break up ash."

"I'll tell you later come on let's go."

"Bu-."

"Adria! your gonna end up being late for your introduction."

"Fine."

They arrived at the door and met Lee who happened to be heading to his private elevator, they acted like they didn't see him and headed to the general elevator but when Lee saw asachi he was pissed.

"You shouldn't go any further." adria said as she felt lee hated his presence as Lee and another guy stood rooted talking while staring at them suspiciously.

"But-."

"Asachi." Adria said but he refused and tried to walk forward but Lee's assistant gave a fake cough that attracted Asachi's attention in the end asachi had to go back as Lee gave him a ' that's enough look.'

"Bye Adria take care of yourself, I'll come to pick you up."

"Thanks." Adria said and asachi left, when she was sure he had left she began to walk fast to enter the general elevator but the guy who was by Lee's side called out to her.

"Hey."

"Oh good...morning." she said with a fake smile.

"Hmm the boss said you should follow the private elevator."

"But."

"You were assigned to assist him."

"What? but that wasn't what my file said."

The guy stared at her but remained silent as he thought to himself that she doesn't know where she is, he went forward and left Adria standing there contemplating if she should go or not she did that for a while but eventually went to the private elevator area when she got there to her surprise Mr Lee was still there on a phone call, when he saw her he looked somewhere else and continued his call.

Adria cursed at him in her mind and proceeded to the elevator but when she got there, there was a finger print port, she sighed in frustration as she was unable to get in, she turned back in other to go to the other area which was the general elevator but she saw Lee approaching her.

"Good morning sir."

"I don't want your boyfriend accompanying you here."

Adria scoffed within as she cursed at him in her head, he couldn't even reply to her greeting, oh no she's not going to have that she is going to be blunt probably they'll send her back too "He's not my boyfriend."

"Well his a boy and a friend." Lee said as he spared her a short glance.

Adria stared at him with a fuck ur opinion face but said nothing. They entered the elevator and adria avoided looking or standing close to him, Lee didn't even care as he didn't give the slightest f*** about her or what she does.

Adria spent the whole day being oriented and understanding the system with little explain action she already understood but choose to ask irrelevant question but Lee and his workers saw through her tricks and he didn't change her.

After a day filled with unaccomplished goal, Adria exited the building arriving at the garage she caught a glimpse of her boss and a lady talking she scoffed and entered her car as she zoomed off, she got a text from asachi so she picked him up they went for a drink and after some chats they headed home.
