Matthew's POV
In the dimly lit hospital corridor, tension hung heavy in the air like a thick fog, choking back the whispers of hope. The doctor's voice cut through the somber atmosphere, each word heavy with the weight of impending tragedy.
"You need to come down sir," the doctor's voice was firm, yet laced with a profound sense of empathy, as if trying to tether Mr. Ace's spiraling despair to the ground. "But we are trying to save her life. I can't tell you much, but from the look of things, her heart is failing and she is in a very bad place."
Mr. Ace stood frozen, his once steady grip now slackening as his hand fell away, a physical manifestation of the shattering of his resolve. His eyes, normally filled with confidence and determination, now betrayed a deep well of anguish and disbelief.
