The Pilgrim's Process by John Bunyan

writing starts with sermons and ends with fiction. His famous allegory, the story of Christian, opens with a sentence of luminous simplicity that has the haunting compulsion of the hook in a great melody. "As I walk'd through the wilderness of this world, I lighted on a certain place, where was a Denn; And I laid me down in that place to sleep: And as I slept I dreamed a Dream." A "Denn" is a prison, and Bunyan wrote most of the book in Bedford county gaol, having been arrested for his beliefs during the "Great Persecution" of 1660-1690. He shares the experience of prison with Cervantes, who had the idea for Don Quixote while incarcerated in La Mancha. Like so many novels that follow in this list, The Pilgrim's Progress blends fact and fiction. As well as being the record of Bunyan's dream, a well-known fictional device, it is also an archetypal tale – a quest, fraught with danger. Christian's pilgrimage takes him through the Slough of Despond, Vanity Fair and the Delectable Mountains in a succession of adventures that keep the reader turning the page. With his good companions, Faithful and Hopeful, he vanquishes many enemies before arriving at the Celestial City with the line that still reverberates through the English literary tradition: "So he passed over, and all the trumpets sounded for him on the other side." In Hollywood terms, the novel has a perfect "arc". It also contains a cast of unforgettable characters, from Mr Worldly Wiseman to Lord Hategood, Mr Stand-fast and Mr Valiant-for-Truth. More profoundly, as an allegory of state repression, it has been described by the historian EP Thompson as one of the "foundation texts of the English working-class movement". Part of its uniquely English quality is a robust and engaging sense of humour that has cemented its appeal to generations of readers. The Pilgrim's Progress is the ultimate English classic, a book that has been continuously in print, from its first publication to the present day, in an extraordinary number of editions. There's no book in English, apart from the Bible, to equal Bunyan's masterpiece for the range of its readership, or its influence on writers as diverse as William Thackeray, Charlotte Bronte, Mark Twain, CS Lewis, John Steinbeck and even Enid Blyton. Huckleberry Finn speaks for many readers when, recalling his Mississippi education, he says: "There was some books too... One was 'Pilgrim's Progress', about a man that left his family it didn't say why. I read considerable in it now and then. The statements was interesting, but tough." The story of a man in search of the truth is the plot of many kinds of fiction, from Portnoy's Complaint to Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Like many of the writers in the list that follows, Bunyan had a wonderful ear for the rhythms of colloquial speech and his allegorical characters come to life in dialogue that never fails to advance the narrative. Story is one thing. The simple clarity and beauty of Bunyan's prose is something else. Braided together, style and content unite to make a timeless English classic. The Pilgrim's Progress, from this world, to that which is to come was first published in Holborn, London by Nathaniel Ponder, a non-conformist, at the beginning of 1678 in an edition of 191 pages. It was an immediate success. A second edition appeared before the end of 1678, with many new passages, a third in 1679, and several subsequent editions before Bunyan's death in August 1688. The Second Part of The Pilgrim's Progress was published in 1684, with a second edition in 1686. Eventually, the English text comprised some 108,260 words. It has never been out of print, and has been translated into more than 200 languages.

Forced To Be The Villains

The story goes like this. A hero, a savior, a king, a swordmaster, it's all of Leon Bryan nickname at the game that I played. [Calamity Raid] an RPG open world games about the main character Leon Bryan adventure. people who played the game said. - the game story is perfect - the fight in this game is really exciting - I love the character design And the thing that i like about the game is how the interaction with the npc goes. And I hope someday I can go inside the game, and goes on adventure with the main character. Well that what i thought until... my wishes came true. Yes, I was going inside the game but not as the main character friend. But i ended up as the middle boss of the game. Knowing the fact about what will happen if I'm choosing the wrong way, I might change the story completely. I don't have choice but being forced to be the villains . _____________________________________ well hello there, if you read this synopis there is two possible way. 1. you accidentally pressed this novel 2. you just curious with the novel cover. from that two possible way you can see that I'm not added another possible way like. you found out that the novel is good, why because the story is not that good. The Blood King

Hi, everyone. This notice is a bit late... well, about a year late, but what can ya do, right? Anyway, I just popped in this time to talk about the fate of this novel. I know there are a few people who are wondering if it's dropped or what. If you are one of the few who is dreading that possibility, well don't worry, I haven't dropped it. I'll be rewriting my first, relatively successful novel, "The Blood King". But it's not going to happen tomorrow, I mean, it took me a flipping year to get back to write this note. And the reason it's not progressing faster is that this is just one of many novels I'm working(or trying to work) on. I'm trying to make this rewrite the best version of this novel, which will also take a lot of time. All in all, what I'm saying is, I'm sorry for keeping you, this novel's readers, out of the know when it comes to the novel's fate, as well as for the long time it will take to have it up and running again. What I'm striving for in this rewrite is what every writer strives for. Outstanding characters that develop along with the story, an expansive world, tantalizing plot, fluid prose, and many more things that would allow for a great read. I'm not telling you to keep this novel in your library. As a reader myself, I know how much of an eyesore a giant cluster of novels is, so if you need to regain some peace in your library, get rid of this. Because when The Blood King rises again, it will appear in front of you once more. And then you can scoop this novel of mine back up! Thanks for your time, and thank you for reading! ... [Synopsis] Levi was the young master of a certain clan. He had a lot of friends, people would fawn over him wherever he went and his parents loved him. That was until the aptitude test that every child was required to take when they turn 7. The result of the test showed that he was utter trash, even among trash. From that day, all of his friends dissapeared and people only sneered when they saw him. But what turned his heart to ice, was that, the parents that loved him, looked at him in disdain and said "You do not deserve the name Azure! from this day forward, you will be stripped of that name and banished from the azure clan! now scram trash!" Needless to say, when he was kicked out from his clan, he was sneered at and bullied. This went on for five years, then, at the age of 12, he met a mysterious man. The man looked at him and said "You look sufficient. You are weak and alone. Do you seek strength?" Without hesitation levi replied coldly "Yes!" The man's voice rang out again "Even if it means becoming a demon hated by all?" He asked. "Aren't i already hated by all?" Levi replied. " Hahaha, then drink this blood of mine! Become strong enough to do as you please in this world!" *Disclaimer- the cover picture used for this novel is not mine, i did not make it, nor do i own it. all credit goes to it's creator.

The Villainess's Mission

"I will make him get me pregnant! I ... I swear that I will get his seeds!" exclaimed Daniella. ------------------------------------------------------------------- [SILVER TIER WINNER-BOOK OF WPC #153] In 1870, a secret agent named Rebekah Alison was assigned to kill the coldest man she ever met in her life: Andrew Lawrence, who was nicknamed The City Prince by the people of Nadem City, where he was born and lives. Andrew Lawrence is the heir to Lawrence Group, Billy Lawrence's company, the father of Andrew. He was idolized by all the girls in Nadem City. Handsome, rich, tall, charismatic, cold, all of these things are in Andrew, making him one of the most popular people in Nadem City. His reputation that used to be so good turn for the worse when his wife, Dorothea Brown, was murdered. Many people believe that Andrew is the muderer, and immediately The City Prince becomes someone most hated by the people of Nadem City. One day, someone used Rebekah's services and required her to kill Andrew. Rebekah accepted this mission and changed her identity to Daniella Miller to get close to Andrew, she was even required to be in a hidden marriage bond with Andrew on her mission, and as the first step, Rebekah works as a farmer on Billy Lawrence's farm. Will Rebekah succeed in carrying out all the tasks on her mission smoothly? But ... with her hate towards Andrew, what if Rebekah falls in love with him instead? Is that even possible? Can it be that her mission will be messed up? ------------------------------------------------------------------- "I ... I want to know, why did ... why did you choose me to be your partner at the party?" asked Daniella. After asking this, the girl looked away from Andrew's gaze because she couldn't make eye contact with him any longer because her heart started beating very fast again. Not only averted her gaze, but Daniella also averted her face slightly from Andrew because she realized that her face is flushed right now and she doesn't want Andrew to notice it too. 'Her question ... there's no way I can tell her that I chose her because I have no other choice,' thought Andrew who is still staring at Daniella. Daniella succeeded to control her feelings in a short time by simply turning her gaze away from Andrew and turning her face a little away from him, her face also returned to its normal color, as well as her heart which is also beating normally again. 'Sigh, he has a too strong charm, if only he doesn't have it maybe I could have said that more easily earlier. I hope I can hate him like most people in this city, I really hate to admire his charm,' thought Daniella, a moment after that the girl is freezing as the fingers of Andrew's right hand gently touched her jaw, Andrew then directed Daniella's face and gaze to facing him again very slowly and gently. "Look at me, I don't want any more misunderstandings between us because of things like this," said Andrew to Daniella after the completely frozen girl made eye contact with him again. "Y-yes, S-sir," said Daniella, she doesn't know what to feel now, the target of her murder is so successful in making her doubt the success of her mission. 'Oh my God ... his touch, his eyes, his lips, his nose, this man ... his charm ... is the real perfection,' the girl sinks in her mind. "I ... I chose you because you are beautiful, Miss Miller," answered Andrew. ------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: *MATURE content* The entire places setting in this story is fiction. The time setting is the year 1870 but overall the story has a picture of the mid-19th to early 20th century. The reference for most of the places setting in the story is the United States in the mid to late 19th century.
