Elizabeth nodded. "Rent an apartment for her to live in after she comes out. Don't come over here."

Alice Garcia nodded reluctantly, picked up her bag, and left.

When she went downstairs, Jane was already gone.

After entrusting Aunt Xia to take care of Jack, Jane went to Starlight. She had two projects in hand: a TV series called "Immortal Love" in the genre of fantasy and a suspense movie called "Seven Steps to Death". Both were big-budget productions, with no room for error.

She spent the entire morning meeting with the relevant producers and directors. After a flurry of activity, it was almost noon.

She didn't have time to buy groceries, so she had to place an online order. When she arrived at the hospital department, the delivery driver was waiting for her. She picked up the food and headed straight to John's ward.

Just as she was about to knock on the door, it opened suddenly, and Brian came out with some files. He nodded slightly at her, then stepped aside to let her in. Inside, she glanced at John's condition. He wasn't lying in bed, but sitting on the sofa with a stack of files on the coffee table in front of him.

He pointed to his neck when he saw her, and she quickly put the food in the kitchen, washed her hands, and gave him a massage. Ten minutes later, he waved his hand, and she went to cook.

The meal was still focused on nourishing blood . John ate without expression.

Jane didn't know what was wrong with her. Suddenly, the smell of pig liver soup made her feel nauseous. She covered her mouth and rushed to the bathroom, retching for a while but nothing came out.

She wondered if she had taken too little cough medicine, but she didn't really want to cough. Just as she was wondering, a figure appeared behind her. "Are you pregnant?" he asked.

She startled. She remembered that when she was pregnant with twins, her first reaction was nausea.

"No...that's impossible," she instinctively denied. But what if, she thought. What if she really was pregnant? The child would be John's, from that time at the estate. But they were divorced now, and they couldn't have a child together.

"Go get a check-up," John said with a cold tone.

Jane forced a smile and turned to him. "It's just an upset stomach, there's no need to trouble yourself."

"It's not trouble. I'm calling the head of obstetrics and gynecology to take you for an examination right now." John spoke firmly, and as he spoke, he had already made the call. Jane had just returned to the table when the head of obstetrics and gynecology arrived!

It was Dr. Garcia!

Jane looked at John in surprise. He had made the call and she arrived in less than five minutes?

"I am the owner of St. Mary's Hospital now," John said lightly.

Jane was shocked. Had he really bought the hospital?

It had only been four hours since she suggested it. Had he really added St. Mary's Hospital to the John family's assets? The power of capital was truly astonishing.

"Mr. John, what can I do for you?" Dr. Garcia respectfully bowed to John.

John pointed at Jane. "Take her for a check-up to see if she's pregnant."

Dr. Garcia turned to Jane in a professional manner. "Miss Jane, please follow me."

Jane frowned. She and George Hayes had been investigating Dr. Garcia secretly for some time now.

From her resume, Dr. Garcia appeared clean, and the hospital records showed that Harper and Isabella were indeed her midwives at the time. But... Harper and Isabella were both nurses in the VIP ward and had no qualifications to enter the delivery room.

In other words, her medical records had been tampered with and did not match the actual situation.

They still hadn't figured out who was behind Dr. Garcia.

"I don't want to," Jane said.
