42. Exam Again

In Rubando high School, almost all students felt happy and excited since in several more days, it will be the school's Christmas program.

Following it is a three-week short vacation. How can the students not get joyous?.

But they know, that before that is their second exam for the school year. An obstacle. An obstacle that they should get through first.

Right now, almost all the teachers had their students take a review quizzes. On the other hand, the students are also trying their best to study.

Meanwhile, the four people, Jay, Bren, Natalie, and Mark, instead of reading their past lessons, are actually silently playing a game of Scrabble. Their nearby classmates can't help but wonder if they are prepared enough for the exam in two days time.

Lunch time.

Natalie and Mark, in pair, decided to eat in the school's cafeteria.

Jay, Bren, and Charlene also decided to eat there. Normally, they didn't usually go eat at the cafeteria, since they preferred to pack their own meal. But today, they didn't.

Jay is only following behind Bren and his girlfriend as they entered the cafeteria. Fortunately, the place still isn't packed with many people. The cafeteria actually is a wide are, since it is a building constructed solely for this.

They got their foods and they picked a nice spot to seat on.

Bren and Charlene are seated to get, while opposite them, is the quiet Jay.

After a few seconds, more and more people came and the place was immediately filled with people that almost all tables are occupied.

Jay had just began eating when a person spoke besides him.

"Can,...can I seat here beside you?"

Jay raised his head and he saw that it was Crystal. Jay nearly choked on his food. Of all places, why would Crystal want to seat here?

Opposite them are Bren and Charlene, grinning.

"Okay." Jay just plainly said. Crystal nervously seated beside him as she tried her best to calm down.

In another table surrounded by four other girls, meters away from where Jay and his group was, the atmosphere is full of smiles. The four girls are Crystal's best friends. They are inwardly cheering for Crystal for succeeding her mission, to seat beside her crush.

"Uhm, I learned that last Friday was your birthday Bren. Even though it is very late, I want to greet you a happy birthday", Crystal suddenly remembered something and greeted him.

"Oh. Thanks for your greeting. We also actually skipped the whole day of school to celebrate it together with my friends", Bren spoke with friendliness.

"Really? That's great then."

The four of them chatted while eating and soon, they finished their meals.

Crystal met with her friends at their Scorpio room and they all congratulated her for doing her best.

"Crystal, when will you confess to him? It's better if you do it as soon as possible", one of the girls happily said to her.

"Nah, I'll patiently wait. Things like this needs not to be rushed. Also, Jay seems like the type of person who is not interested in this kinds of relationship. So it's better if I'll be his friend for now." Crystal actually had a crush on Jay for already maybe for months, and she realized that her feelings are growing stronger. So she decided to get close with Jay for now.

"Jay, you sure are mindless. That Crystal chose to sat beside you. Do you know what this means?" Bren is talking to Jay in their classroom.

"How should I know?"

"Jay, there's no doubting it. Crystal likes you!", Bren simply said as a matter of fact.

Jay frowned. 'What? So that was what Bren means?'

In his mind, he has no experiences at such things. Crystal getting close to her at that time already made Jay awkward. But he still tried to chat with her as to look friendly.

'And her seated beside me just doesn't mean that she likes me right?' Jay pushed his thoughts aside and stopped Bren from saying such things.

They, including the four, class of Aquarius, all reviewed for their upcoming exams. After their exams, they will prepare for their Christmas Celebration then after that, the short vacation. They will all meet again next year January.

The two-day exam passed by in the blink of an eye. Looking at all his test results, Bren was satisfied. Jay and Mark also had done quite well. Natalie was the highest one. All of her test results are better than the three, but not comparable to an excellent result.

Bren turned to look at Mark's test results. He felt suspicious. Why was all of Mark's test scores are almost the same?

37/50,37/50,38/60,37/55,38/50...

Bren found it suspicious, but only thought that all of his scores may be coincidences.

Before they were dismissed for the day, Mrs. Melissa announced about the school's Christmas Celebration. The Aquarius class should prepare to have their classrooms decorated and plan on what they would cook for the class to eat.

"Also", Madam Melissa announced once more, "The class will have their exchange gifts." She showed a box to everyone and inside the box, are pieces of folded papers with all of the names of the students written in each piece of folded papers.

Mrs. Melissa explained how it will be done. "Whoever's name have you picked, will be the person in which you will give gift to at December 15. The cost of the gifts, depends on you, just make sure to give a nice gift."

The student all lined up to go pick one piece of paper. Jay opened the folded paper on his hand saw that it was a male.

'Fortunately, if this was a female, I would have trouble finding a suitable gift', Jay inwardly sighed in relief that he picked a boy.

Bren also picked a boy's name. Actually, even Natalie and Mark both picked boys' names.

In a nearby classroom, Scorpio section, Crystal is thinking of giving Jay a gift.

Sigh.

At the same time, Bren wished that the one who had his name will give him a nice present. Bren looked at the watch that Charlene gifted and smiled.

With that, exams are done, and now they are looking forward to some exciting events.
