SAVE ME, SIREN!

"Who are you?" Caroline felt her heart break. She felt hurt, betrayed, pain, and anger towards the man in front of her. "Who...are you?" Her voice started to break. The man sighed deeply. He stared into the eyes of the person he loved the most in his life and whispered. "I am your Harvey-" Caroline pushed him but failed to make him budge. "Harvey would not lie to me this much." every word was filled with hurt. The man held her in a tight hug that prevented her to escape from his arms. "I have relied on you for so long. I followed what you said and learned everything that I know." She sobbed. "You know me...but I do not know you." The man held her even tighter. "I am still the one who loves you with all my life. Please, don't leave me." She felt helpless. "Was I just a doll that you carry around? Was I a toy that you groomed and played with?" She gritted her teeth. "Was I just your little doll?" She whispered in disbelief to her own realization. "A little doll that you toyed with." The man shook his head as he hugged her even tighter. Part 17: Christian Joey

No that's ridiculous.

I walk to the terminal which was a few minutes away from the library and got into one of the buses.

As we were heading back to my town, the bus took a stop at another terminal to pick other passengers.

When we arrived at the terminal, I looked around to see the busy people walking around with their phones in their ears.

Someone sat next to me which I didn't really mind but his perfume is so familiar.

Too familiar.

No...it can't be.

"Caroline...is that really you?"

damn it. WHY?!?!

I turned to look at him and gave him a fake smile. "CJ...long time no see."

He smiled back and shifted in his seat. "You look better." He looked at me up and down. "You also lost some weight. I knew that if you were skinnier, you'd definitely look pretty." He said.

For a second there, I thought he changed. I thought he'd grow out of his old attitude. Now, he is currently mocking me with his smile and his words went to my heart like bullets fired from a silent rifle.

Well...I'm not like the girl I used to be before. Now, I'm more mature and grown. Now, I won't cry because of his stupid insults. Although that I know that the damage he had done from years before gave me wounds but I won't ever let it turn into a scar that I will be with me for the rest of my life.

I just can't waste my time on being sad all the time.

I want to be happy.

"I know, right? I'm loving how positive I am with my body right now." It's true. I became more energetic because I work out every day. It was tiring, yes but now it's like I do it on autopilot. I'm not as insecure as I was before which is incredible.

He snickered and I felt something was not right.

"Oh? That's interesting. By the way, I'm now a relationship with Anine."

I know who exactly Anine is. She is one of the reasons why I never enjoyed highschool.

"That's good." I said.

"Jealous?"

I narrowed my eyes at him. He's still conceited as always. "Why would I be jealous?" I replied as calmly as possible.

"You sure? You know we can be together." He looked at me and I am sure that I can't sense any joking manner from him. I knew he wouldn't change.

Christian Joey...you little son of a donkey.

"I'm very VERY sure, Joey-" I widened my eyes. I made a mistake. I hope he doesn't remember.

CJ made me look at him and looked at me in the eyes. There was a glimmer of hope in them which was unsettling for me. I didn't mean to call him what I used to call him when we had mutual feelings.

"Joey...you still like me. Do you, Caroline?" I looked at him and I felt sad and irritated. I don't like him anymore because of his unbearable attitude and temper. His stubbornness will be the death of me.

The bus finally stopped at the terminal in my town so I got up. I patted my skirt down and said as I turned my back to him. "That was a mistake."

I got out of the bus and walk the direction to my house but my eyes widen when I was pulled back.

I turned around to see Joey pulling me to the side where there were no people.

"Lying again, Caroline?"
