They initially thought that someone was maliciously impersonating Whitebeard's legitimate son to carry out such actions.

Before his departure, Sengoku recommended Aokiji as the new Fleet Admiral.

This news was undoubtedly significant.

It involved the appointment of the next Fleet Admiral of the Navy.

The members of the Whitebeard Pirates hadn't reacted yet, but the Marine Headquarters was shaken by this news. On the crowded Marineford Plaza, all the marines turned their attention to the figures seated at the main table.

Fleet Admiral Sengoku.

Admiral Akainu.

Admiral Aokiji.

Admiral Kizaru.

And the Marine hero,Garp.

The atmosphere in the square suddenly became unusual after Luo Ke's words.

Admiral Aokiji felt somewhat strange upon hearing that he had been recommended by Sengoku as the next Fleet Admiral. He never expected that he would be the one Sengoku had in mind.

On the other hand, Admiral Akainu's expression turned into a mix of shock, anger, and dissatisfaction. He couldn't believe that Sengoku had recommended Aokiji. Was Sengoku losing his mind? Couldn't he see who was more suitable for the position of Fleet Admiral? How could that lazy guy Aokiji be fit for the role? If he became the Fleet Admiral, what would become of the Navy?!!

A fire burned within Akainu's heart. Being a user of the Magma-Magma Fruit, his temperature rose as his anger intensified. Seeing this, Aokiji furrowed his brows and emitted a chilling aura to counterbalance the rising heat.

Everyone witnessed the interaction between the two, but no one intervened. The appointment of the next Fleet Admiral was not something they could meddle in.

Akainu glared at Sengoku, his eyes filled with anger. He needed an explanation. He felt betrayed. He had always believed that Sengoku favored him more. Sengoku's style was more akin to his own, and he even surpassed Sengoku in certain aspects, be it the ruthless tactics or his unwavering sense of justice. Akainu thought Sengoku would choose him, but in the end, he chose Aokiji.

What infuriated Akainu even more was that Sengoku made this decision after the Summit War. Sengoku couldn't be ignorant of the performances of the admirals during that war, which were captured on film.

Throughout the entire Summit War, Aokiji had been slacking off, while kizaru had been involved in minor skirmishes. But Akainu, he had wholeheartedly executed Sengoku's plan, even turning the tables on the pirate Whitebeard by betraying him. He had personally inflicted severe injuries on Whitebeard and even came close to killing Roger's son, Ace, at his own hands, narrowly escaping Whitebeard's retaliation.

Akainu had put all his efforts into the Summit War, even risking his own life, only to have Sengoku turn around and recommend Aokiji as the Fleet Admiral after the war.

This situation made Akainu's mindset explode with frustration.

It felt like playing a 5v5 game, where all four of your teammates were afk. You had struggled and made incredible plays, nearly wiping out the entire enemy team, with a pentakill within reach.

And then your teammate, who had been slacking off, comes running over and steals all five kills, completing the pentakill.

Your mindset would just explode.

That's exactly how Akainu felt at this moment.

He couldn't accept it. Why wasn't he chosen and instead Aokiji was recommended?!

"I need an explanation," Akainu suppressed his anger and confronted Sengoku. He had believed that the position of Fleet Admiral was already within his grasp. Aokiji and Kizaru were trying to compete with him for it, but any sensible person could see who was more suitable for the role of Fleet Admiral. Yet, Sengoku believed Aokiji was more suitable than him. Akainu couldn't understand it, and he couldn't accept it.

Upon hearing Akainu's words, Sengoku also furrowed his brows.

He himself didn't know why he had chosen Aokiji. In fact, at the moment, he valued Akainu more than Aokiji.

As for kizaru, that monkey performer, he had already been blacklisted as a potential candidate for Fleet Admiral based on his performance during the previous Summit War.
