Rising of the Pet System

A young man who was a slave for as long as he remembers finally gets set free into the world by a powerful devil as her servant. As named by her, he took Hades as a name and a way of life. As her hellhound unleashed on the world, she gave him a contract. The more he sacrifices for her, the more power she will grant him. What to expect? The world of Alseria is a ruthless world so don’t expect people to be just after power or be evil for the sake of evil. Each villain I wrote has a legitimate reason for his action, and by legitimate I mean something good. The MC: He isn’t a good guy neither he is evil. He just wants to get by, and occasionally ends up causing a disaster. His sense of morality isn’t like other people’s due to his upbringing and this story is about him trying to be normal. The MC Powers: He has abilities granted to him by the system, not magic. Even though magic exists and is prominent in the world, our MC doesn’t have the patience to sit and learn it. By the end game, he will have a total of ten powerful abilities (Which are addressed in the ten-chapter prologue) I decided to take the HP, MP, and SP from the system concept since they aren’t good indicators of physical capabilities. Instead, I exchanged them for visual indicators, like if the MC is stabbed in the chest, his health is probably too low to stand. I will keep a review so you can contact me easily.

The general's entrance

Hades woke up feeling exhausted, his whole body was hurting again. Especially his arms and elbow, they never felt more like that before. The wooden ceiling with a silver chandelier was unfamiliar once again. Such a thing can never be familiar.

He sat up and looked around. The bed he was on was soft, made from a material that seemed to slide smoothly under his hand. A strange scent filled the air of the slightly darkened room.

He looked toward the source of the light in the wall, it was but a large window with a curtain. Hades pulled it out (He just grabbed the curtain and pulled it off as he didn't know how to lift it up).

As the light entered the room he could see that the floor was covered with a brown carpet and the walls are painted white. A fireplace sat to the side with a small table to its side. A desk facing it with a small flower on top. A big wooden box was standing to the side which reminded Hades of doors.

He stood up and looked down, beside the fireplace, a white lump lay asleep. Hades immediately recognized the peculiar monster. It was the Fenrir Cub.

Hades approached it slowly, extending his hand to poke the creature. He then stopped, remembering how he clawed his arms. He immediately pulled back thinking of another way to not risk his arm.

Looking around, he found a black rood standing to the side of the fireplace. Lifting it up, Hades tried to bend it and managed to know it was probably made of metal. He grabbed it and started poking the sleeping cub's side.

"Come on, move," Hades said glaring at the non-reacting cub. After a few more pokes, the cub turned on his back. Hades kept poking him like a kid tormenting a caterpillar with a stick. "Come on, do something."

The little cub just whelped and opened one eye looking at Hades, "Aww! Awooo!"

Hades poked him again, "Move." With a sad face, 'Did this thing lose all its power?' He wondered.

The little cub slowly moved his head toward the metal rod, "WAN!" He took a bite cutting it. Crunch! Crunch! He chewed it off like it was a small bone.

Hades glared at the cut road and laughed, he was glad he didn't use his finger, this thing is dangerous.

BONK! Hades gently hit the dog with the remains of the metal rod on the head, "Stand, I don't know this place so we must leave."

The little cub slowly stood up yawning, Whimper! He licked his teeth to get the metal out and stared at Hades wagging his tail.

Hade stood and turned toward the window, "We should be…AGRAA!" he cried feeling the cub's claws stick to his back. Hades immediately turned his head to see the cub's head poking on his shoulder. "WAN!"

"Fine, just don't use those claws on me. We must find that old man." Hades jumped out the window and looked at the garden.

In the garden, a maid was humming as she watered the flowers she planted years ago. Suddenly she heard a strange sound and looked up, Hades was on the window with the small Fenrir cut on his shoulder. They both glared at her at the same time.

"KYA!" She cried in fear. She heard that Hades was a soldier who fought like a monster, and now he was glaring at her with a Fenrir cub.

The door immediately got busted open and William rushed out, he was in the living room polishing his blade. He saw the maid curled into a ball crying so he looked up and saw Hades with a happy cub panting at his shoulder with a wagging tail.

Hades glared back at him, "Who are you, I don't know you." Hades could see William holding an unsheathed blade so he considered him a threat. The little Fenrir cub glared at William and started growling.

William could feel the pressuring and intimidating air around those two, neither of them felt human one bit. As if he was glared at by two hungry wolves. "GRRR! WOOF! WOOF!"

Hades jumped down and landed with [Repulsion] to dampen the impact.

BONK! A wooden stick hit Hades' head from the back, "What are you doing?" He heard a familiar voice from behind.

As he turned it was none other than Eva. With Gabriella behind her. "It's you…" Hades looked at her. The Fenrir cub calmed upon seeing her face, he remembered how she fed him meat earlier before he slept.

"That's my father you know? Told you about him." She said with an exhausted face.

Hades looked at her as if he understood, "Ok, I will kill him immediately." He turned back and cracked his fist, even the cub started growling again.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!" It was then that they heard someone burst laughing at the gate, as they looked there a man covered in full-plate armor approached them clapping his hands. "You know, there are more ways to help her than killing my father. I'm not eager to get his place you know…"

"Brother!" Eva gasped in surprise, he rarely came home and now here he is. Alen Ginis, her older brother and the current general taking on his father's mantle.

Alen immediately lifted his blade (With the sheath, he didn't unsheathe it) and rushed at Hades with a swing. "Alen, don't he's…" William screamed but it was too late.

"WOOF!" The Fenrir cub immediately bites the blade in two halves as soon as it approached Hades.

Hades swung a punch at Alen but he dodged by a hair strand, BAM! Hades immediately followed with a [Repulsion] Kick to the guts and sent him crashing into the flowers.

"Sir Hades, please stop. They aren't a threat nor do they want to harm you." Gabriella approached Hades who was ready to continue. She grabbed the Fenrir cub from his shoulders and patted it.

Alen started laughing and coughing. "Yeah man, I even left my blade sheathed. Expected someone with better temper than Cael but alas, sisters like violent ones." He barely stood up a small dent was left on his armor.

"Brother! Shut up for a moment!" Eva yelled at him. She even grabbed a stone and threw it at him when he didn't stop laughing.

"Where is Cael, is he on duty?" He said as the stone bounced off his helmet with a ping.

"That's none of your business!" Eva yelled back.

"But that is, he's my friend and subordinate after all. I swear I don't want to talk with him about how much progress he made." Hearing him, she threw a second stone at him and it bounced right off his shoulders.

"Cael is investigating the watch tower where this little one appeared." William pointed toward the Fenrir cub.

Alen nodded and looked at his destroyed blade. "I see a Fenrir cub. Is he safe?" He asked.

Gabriella stared at him, "He's safe general Alen, now could you apologize for attacking Sir Hades?" She gave Alen a cold stare, her eyes seemed dead as a fish in the market.

"Hold up! Why Raymond's eyes…are you angry at me?" Alen was confused, his relationship was always good with the ruling family. He did meet Gabriella several times but she never stared at him like this before. 'She did call Hades a SIR, was that the reason.'

"Sorry for attacking you, Sir Hades." He apologized immediately, "I was just trying to confirm your strength a bit." He bowed slightly. "By the way, were you sent by the capital?" He added.

Gabriella glared at him, "What's none of your business at this time, you will get informed when the time is right." She wasn't playing around, if Hades didn't tell anyone he was a Valkyrie, she won't step over her borders and talk.

Alen just stared at her confused, what did happen when he was out?
