Rising of the Pet System

A young man who was a slave for as long as he remembers finally gets set free into the world by a powerful devil as her servant. As named by her, he took Hades as a name and a way of life. As her hellhound unleashed on the world, she gave him a contract. The more he sacrifices for her, the more power she will grant him. What to expect? The world of Alseria is a ruthless world so don’t expect people to be just after power or be evil for the sake of evil. Each villain I wrote has a legitimate reason for his action, and by legitimate I mean something good. The MC: He isn’t a good guy neither he is evil. He just wants to get by, and occasionally ends up causing a disaster. His sense of morality isn’t like other people’s due to his upbringing and this story is about him trying to be normal. The MC Powers: He has abilities granted to him by the system, not magic. Even though magic exists and is prominent in the world, our MC doesn’t have the patience to sit and learn it. By the end game, he will have a total of ten powerful abilities (Which are addressed in the ten-chapter prologue) I decided to take the HP, MP, and SP from the system concept since they aren’t good indicators of physical capabilities. Instead, I exchanged them for visual indicators, like if the MC is stabbed in the chest, his health is probably too low to stand. I will keep a review so you can contact me easily.

Hades is getting wounded too much

Thud! Raptor leaped over the six-foot-tall fence in a single powerful hop and landed on the other side roaring. William had to grab Hades and the cub in place so they won't fall.

"Raptor, doing such jumps at your age," William yelled, he knew that Raptor was as old as him and should start taking life slowly.

Neigh! Raptor accelerated again, rushing through the farms like a monster. Thud! Thud! Thud! He leaped after each fence he face, heading straight for the city gate.

William smiled patting Raptor's neck, "I see, we haven't fought for years. Let's do it then." He tightly grabbed Raptor's lead and roared, "Charge! To the gate!"

Through the fields, Raptor rushed at Top speed toward the gate. As he leaped over the last fence and got back to the main road, they saw a group of cavalry rushing ahead. Those were the ones supposed to go behind Raptor and William but they are late.

They weren't slow, it's just that William never took his armor off and Raptor was always ready for a run, unlike other horses. Those two have been trained to respond in less than a minute as in war that's the difference between survival and getting killed.

"Get out the away!" William roared and the soldier froze, he was heading toward them without a sign of stopping.

Neighhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Raptor roared as he headed straight ahead.

The horses carrying the night freaked out seeing him approach. Now that Raptor approached them, hints of his strength appeared as they passed each other. He was much taller, and broader than the other horses. They stood at an average of five feet while he stood at seven feet tall.

The nights held tight as their horses leaped away, they didn't want to get pummeled by the mighty beast.

"Isn't that the former general?" One of the knights, one who just joined the ranks a month ago asked with an amazed stare.

"Sure he is, remember his face." One of the senior knights replied as he looked back.

"Where did he get such a horse? I have never seen them sold in the horse market." The new knight asked looking at his small pony. He can get the job done but every night wanted to ride bigger horses.

"Raptor? You won't find a horse like him." The knight smiled.

"Why?"

"Breeding them is prohibited now, the general picked him for an enemy camp where they being bread for draft and meat." The knight replied as he pulled his horse lead, "Let's hurry, there must be something we can still do." He rushed ahead to check what work the general left for them.

On his way in, he found Cael, Eva, and Gabriella rushing on horseback to chase Hades. They seem to have struggled to find horses for the girls so they were a bit late. Raptor stooped immediately in front of the, he knew that Eva was a healer and could probably help.

"Father, what happened?" Eva leaped from her horse to check on Hades.

"Move away, let me take a look at him." Gabriella pulled a small box filled with gold from her pocket and rushed toward Hades pushing Eva away.

"He fought a Fenrir cub, this one here." William pointed at the small white puppy wagging his tail beside Hades. "And now he seems friendly, though we should keep him alive until Hades woke up and tell us the story."

"This is a Fenrir cub? Can we really keep such a dangerous creature?" Cael stood between Eva and the Fenrir cub.

"We rood all the way here and he didn't bite my back, we can keep him for now," William replied with a big smile. Seeing hades and the cub reminded him of when he found Raptor in the past.

Gabriella climbed behind William and started healing Hades, "I can't do much here but keep him stable, take us to your home. My tools are there." She yelled and William nodded.

"Understood." Raptor immediately started running. Cael and Eva followed behind unable to do much.

"For goddess sake, why do you keep getting wounded so badly each day?" Gabriella sighed. 'But I guess, a Valkyrie can't risk us facing a Fenrir. And to think you tamed the monster…this was definitely a better outcome than tens of soldiers losing their life.' She thought patting the little cub.

As they reached the mansion, William carried Hades from Raptors back and rushed into the mansion scarring the maids as he kicked the door open.

"Get a room ready!" He yelled and the maids who had come to check the situation rushed away. One of them even tripped and crawled away as fast as she could. For some reason William seemed angry, he rarely yell like that.

Gabriella also yelled at them to bring her stuff in as well, she didn't care who did it as long as the bag got there quickly. Now with the house Master and the Lord's daughter yelling at them, half of the maids felt like crying, this was a calm day until seconds ago.

Gabriella's bags were surprisingly heavy as if they were filled with stones. Two maids struggled to move one and they had to drag it up the stairs.

William wanted to help them but they refused. He was having some back issue due to his age and if his wife heard the maids had him carry something heavy, they are going to suffer. Clara, Eva's mother had quite a temper.

A clean room was prepared in seconds for Hades and Gabriella sat beside him opening her massive bag. William who was standing there couldn't believe his eyes. The entire bag was filled with gold, explaining why the maids struggled to bring it upstairs.

"All of that?" William peeked inside, that was probably more than his savings.

"Borrowed some of my father's treasury, can't let Hades die after all." She smiled lifting her hands and starting the spell.

Unlike any healer William saw, Gabriella has her unique way of applying holy magic. She channeled it from her hands using the gold on her nails as the catalyst and then into the injured person to heal him by absorbing the gold laid on the circle.

Other healers just used the second phase and never bothered with their nails. Gabriella's approach costs more, but it had more accuracy and control allowing her to perform better and heal more complicated wounds like reattaching arms and regrowing small parts like fingertips.

As a healer, she was a monster that can only be challenged by the top healers who had far more experience than her.

"Can you get him fixed?" William asked looking at her sweating, which was usually a sign that a healer is struggling.

"Of course." Gabriella smiled, "Hades just takes too much holy magic it's insane, keeping him alive is going to be costly."

William scratched his short beard, thinking deeply about a solution. "We can just make him earn his healing costs. With his strength, I bet he could kill a monster or two for money." William wasn't just thinking of Hades. People who hunt monsters are rare with how much dangerous the job is.

"Yeah, if he kept getting injured like this, I will run out of gold before getting exhausted from healing him each day," Gabriella replied with a worried face. They must make Hades understand that getting wounded like this isn't acceptable and that he needs to fight more carefully and value his body.

The characters' art chapter was added to the start. check it out.
