Rising of the Pet System

A young man who was a slave for as long as he remembers finally gets set free into the world by a powerful devil as her servant. As named by her, he took Hades as a name and a way of life. As her hellhound unleashed on the world, she gave him a contract. The more he sacrifices for her, the more power she will grant him. What to expect? The world of Alseria is a ruthless world so don’t expect people to be just after power or be evil for the sake of evil. Each villain I wrote has a legitimate reason for his action, and by legitimate I mean something good. The MC: He isn’t a good guy neither he is evil. He just wants to get by, and occasionally ends up causing a disaster. His sense of morality isn’t like other people’s due to his upbringing and this story is about him trying to be normal. The MC Powers: He has abilities granted to him by the system, not magic. Even though magic exists and is prominent in the world, our MC doesn’t have the patience to sit and learn it. By the end game, he will have a total of ten powerful abilities (Which are addressed in the ten-chapter prologue) I decided to take the HP, MP, and SP from the system concept since they aren’t good indicators of physical capabilities. Instead, I exchanged them for visual indicators, like if the MC is stabbed in the chest, his health is probably too low to stand. I will keep a review so you can contact me easily.

Gabriella Gamorian I

Cael and Eva walked out of the cave, Hades was being carried by two of the soldiers.

As they stared into the darkness, Raptor appeared from the forest dragging a corpse with his mouth. He immediately dropped the corpse and rushed toward Eva, blood dripping from his mouth.

"What did you do? Now we have to wash you thoroughly again!" She scratched his head as he waved his tail like a puppy.

Cael smiled and patted Raptor on the back, "Good job, you will have grain tonight."

Neigh! Brrr! Raptor started turning and jumping, "Stop! The blood!" Splattering the blood on his mouth and hooves everywhere.

"See, this was the lord's warhorse. He has been trained to survive in a battle had the lord fallen off his back. He was also trained to fight and survive, as well as potentially helping the lord fight off enemies had he gotten surrounded." Cael explained looking at the guards who just joined the armed force early that year.

"But, if that was the case. Why isn't he sent to the battlefield?" One of the soldiers asked.

"Both he and the lord have gotten old and have retired from fighting. But, both of them are still experienced fighters."

As they made sure all the bandits were dead, Eva and Cael put Hades on top of Raptor and rushed to church. They need to get his arm reattached as quickly as possible.

As they reached the city, Hades was immediately admitted to the church where he was to be treated immediately.

"Please take care of him, do you think his hand will survive?" Eva asked.

"That's still probable sister Eva. With our skill, it's still a fifty-fifty chance." The head nun replied.

"Isn't there a way to increase his chance of recovery?" Eva asked. With how Hades seemed to fight, his fists were a valuable asset that he mustn't lose at all costs.

The head nun smiled, "With our skill, she had arrived just a while ago. The high priest."

Eva stooped glaring at her, "Gabriella? Didn't she already back?"

The head nun stopped, glaring at Eva. "I know you two don't get along that well…but to that kid, she is now the only one who could get his hand fixed for certain."

Eva sighed, took a seat, and scratched her head. "You know she can't stand us. To her, I am blessed with [Heal] and she is not is unbelievable. Her family never accepted that, doubt she'll heal Hades."

The head nun sighed, "That…I can't argue with you. She is definitely talented, no one mastered the healing ritual as she did, and her skills are unmatched. Unlike you who rely on the blessing of [Heal]"

Eva glared at the nun, "Fine, will give it a try. Doubt she agrees."

The nun turned around, "I will convince her, don't worry about it."

In the church's upper room, the head nun knocked on a door gently. "Sister Gabriella, there is an urgent patient for you."

"Coming…Yawn" it was the middle of the night and Gabriella had just arrived after an exhausting trip.

She opened the door, wearing only a one-piece gown and her golden hair messy like a bush. Scratching her stomach she yawned again. "What's his condition?"

The nun glared at her from head to toe, this wasn't the proper look of a nun let alone a priest. But, truth be told, it was the middle of the night.

"Passed out from bleeding, lost an arm, and has several puncture wounds." The nun explained briefly.

Gabriella cringed, "Sound painful…the ritual will consume a fair amount of gold. Is he paying?"

This was the point the nun feared, the inevitable question which will make or break the deal. "Ginis family is paying…"

Gabriella's face quickly switched, "Don't want any problems with father so he'll have to wait till tomorrow. Put his hand in a towel and put that into ice."

She turned around to close the door but the head nun blocked it. "It's urgent, please give him a look now."

Gabriella tried to push the door close, "I can't, just go!" She started pushing the door harder.

"Come on then…don't heal him now, just give him a quick look and tell us how we could keep him alive till tomorrow. A few moments and it's over, your father will never know." The head used all of her strength to keep the door open.

After a few moments, the head nun had more brute force so she won. Gabriella gave up and decided to give it a look.

She slowly walked out the door.

"Hold on, wear something more decent!" The head nun stopped her.

"He's unconscious, right? Who cares?" Gabriella replied with a baffled face, she was about to just examine him and get back to her room.

"A guard is staying with him…" The head nun replied.

The Ginis family didn't let their injured soldier but instead left someone to guard him. Is he that important to them?

To avoid hurting her sleep schedule further, Gabriella went back to her room and wore her nun outfit. Made sure she looked at least acceptable.

She walked slowly with the head nun down to the patent area, a whole floor in the church that was designed to house patients. The smell of blood and herbs filled the air and low moans can be heard from across the wall.

But then, for some reason. Gabriella started feeling nervous, she never felt such a thing in her life. A weird tingling ran from her teeth down to her toes. Her lower back felt a bit cold and she was finding it slowly harder to breathe.

"Are you all right?" The head nun noticed her sweating.

"Just exhausted from the trip," Gabriella replied with a smile that worried the head nun further.

'Was it really better not to press her like this? What if she is really at her limit after the trip?'

"He's in this room, I will open the door."

Gabriella took a deep breath, clenched her fist, and looked straight ahead. She must be exhausted or is this the fear of her father potentially knowing she helped the Ginis?

The head nun opened the door slowly. The knight guarding Hades stood up and bowed to them. "He's in your hands." The knight said, making sure to stay respectful.

Eva had warned him, the one coming to head Hades was Gabriella Gamorian. The city lord's daughter and they never got along with the Ginis family.

Gabriella might use any word the knight say and use it as a reason not to head Hades. He needed to be more careful talking to her than he is talking with Eva's father.

"Lady Gabriella," The head nun said, "This the patient, his name is Makin Hades. He's a…" The head nun noticed Gabriella being frozen in her place with her hands shaking.

"Lady Gabriella?" The knight exclaimed taking a step back.

Gabriella was sweating across her whole face, the reason for her unease was now clear. The patient she was about to heal was far from what she expected.

No wonder she was feeling nervous, her flimsy skills are going to heal him? She never expected to one in her life to handle such a delicate task.

She clenched her teeth and for a moment looked angry. The knight got worried until he heard her words. "Go back to my room and bring the gold box and the medical inscriptions, all of them."

The head nun got baffled for a second, what was Gabriella talking about?

"The Ginis had already provided the gold and…" The head nun pointed toward the box with the knight.

"Prefer working with what I'm familiar with, and I doubt those will be enough," Gabriella growled.
