"15 gold star merit badges? How did you get those?" Zayn's mother couldn't help but chip in, a rare expression of surprise on her beautiful face as she asked the question.

"Uh, when we went out on our last expedition." Zayn had an awkward look on his face.

"So, you're a rich young master now, aren't you?" His mother chuckled, covering her mouth with her palms.

"Um. Why are you boys staring at me like that?" Zayn's mother looked up to see Zayn, Kai and Lynn staring at her with gaping mouths.

"Wow. Mrs. Ro, you're taking this surprisingly well. We thought you'd ground him or something." Kai smiled, ignoring Zayn who was staring at him with a ferocious side eye.

Zayn's mother let out a laugh, "You boys are already grown-up. Sooner or later, you'll have to spread your wings and soar high into the sky. I can't possibly worry about you all the time, can I? Plus, Zayn would still find out a way to sneak out even if I grounded him."
