Chapter 8 ,( edited with system)

[A/N: I'm back writing this story since many people like it. When I went through the chapter's comments. I wanted to make something clear about it. Character personality change. Example Bella. She's not going to be completely like the movies and books. In this world, she is not alone. She has a brother that she loves and trusts more than her father and mother Just as people who are raised with siblings have some of their personalities made from them. In the end, it is my story. It's good to be back. Thank you for the support.]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Classes went by quickly, and soon, it was lunchtime. As I entered the cafeteria, I spotted my sister sitting with the same group of people from before.

"Hey, sis, I'm going to eat somewhere else today," I informed her.

Bella looked at me curiously. "Where are you going to eat?"

I smiled and pointed towards the Cullens' table. "I'm going to sit over there. Jasper invited me to join them for lunch, but I declined last time. So, I'm going to give it a try today. Don't worry, I'll ask about the guy in their group for you."

Bella raised an eyebrow but nodded. "Alright, have fun, and let me know what you find out."

With a wave, I made my way towards the Cullens' table, feeling a mix of excitement and curiosity about what the lunchtime conversation would bring.

"I hope it's alright for me to sit with all of you. Jasper invited me before," I said as I approached their table.

Alice smiled and replied, "Of course, it's absolutely fine for you to join us."

The rest of the group nodded in agreement, their curious gazes fixed on me. However, Alice quickly intervened with a stern look, signaling them to stop staring.

Alice asked, "How are you adjusting to the new school?"

"It's going well, much better than my previous school," I replied. "I have a question, though. Where's your brother?"

Edythe answered, "He wasn't feeling well, so he stayed home. Why do you ask?"

"It's for my sister," I explained. "I think she wanted to confront him or something, especially after he made her think she stinks."

The group exchanged glances, seemingly intrigued by the situation. Alice leaned in closer, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.

"Well, we'll have to make sure your sister gets a chance to talk to him," she said, her eyes gleaming with determination.

As we engaged in small talk, I noticed some of the Cullens chuckling, perhaps finding something amusing. It seemed like they were trying to get a better sense of who I was. I also noticed Alice, who appeared eager to say something, but she seemed to hold back after receiving a few glances from her family.

Just as the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch, I bid my goodbyes to the Cullens. As I left the cafeteria, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was still being watched, especially by Alice. Her gaze lingered on me, leaving me with a sense of curiosity and intrigue.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bella's POV:

After my brother left to join the Cullens' table, everyone around me started talking about him going over there. They seemed to think it was a big deal, as if it was unusual for someone to approach them. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at their exaggerated reactions. I just hoped my brother wouldn't mention anything about me looking for Edward.

As I sat there, lost in my thoughts, I suddenly felt like I was being stared at. I looked up and saw someone at the Cullens' table briefly glancing in my direction before a few of them chuckled. That's it, I thought. I'm definitely going to get back at my brother for this.

Lunchtime eventually came to an end, and it was time to head to my next class. I started looking around for my brother, wanting to catch up with him. However, as I scanned the crowd, I couldn't help but feel like someone was still staring at me from afar. I looked around, trying to locate the source, but couldn't see anyone.

Suddenly, I heard a voice behind me. "Boo!" It was Tony, my brother, trying to startle me. I let out a small yelp before turning around to see him grinning mischievously.

"Tony, you scared me!" I exclaimed, playfully swatting his arm.

He laughed. "Sorry, couldn't resist. Ready to head to our next class?"

I nodded, grateful for the distraction from my earlier thoughts. Together, we made our way to our classes, leaving behind the mystery of the lingering stare.

Tony's POV:

I noticed my sister, Bella, seemed distracted and felt like she was being stared at. I followed her gaze towards the wooded area near the school and saw Edward, the emo stalker, lurking there. It seemed like he noticed me looking in his direction because he quickly left. I decided to approach my sister cautiously.

"Boo!" I exclaimed, trying to startle her.

Bella jumped back for a moment, then realized it was me and playfully hit me twice.

"Jerk! You shouldn't do that," she scolded.

I chuckled. "Haha, it's not my fault you were zoning out there. Dad called and said he'll be busy tonight. So, do you want to order in or cook at home?"

Bella shrugged. "I don't know. You decide what we're having."

I grinned. "Oh no, I'm not going to play the guessing game with you. Let's flip a coin. Heads for pizza and tails for Thai food."

I flipped the coin, and it landed on tails.

"Looks like we're having Thai food tonight," I announced, pleased with the outcome.

We went and picked up our Thai food, enjoying a delicious meal together. During our conversation, I filled Bella in on what the Cullens had mentioned about Edward being out sick. I wanted to ease her worries and prevent her from being preoccupied with his absence all week.

After finishing our meal, Bella retreated to her room, likely to relax or do some reading. Meanwhile, I stepped outside for a breath of fresh air, making sure the coast was clear and there was no one lurking around. The thought of an impending incident, where someone would be killed but the exact timing eluded me, lingered in my mind. However, I couldn't recall when it was supposed to happen.

Feeling a sense of unease, I eventually returned to my room and settled into bed, hoping for a peaceful night's sleep.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Later that night, two figures appeared near the Swan house.

Edward: "What are you doing here, Alice?"

Alice: "I could ask you the same thing. I'm just here to make sure you don't cross the line."

Edward: "I wouldn't, but you need to be careful of Tony. I felt like he could see me from far away inside the woods by the school today."

Alice: "I'm not going to pay attention to that. He probably just sensed someone watching over his sister. He has strong protective instincts when it comes to her. It makes me wonder how he would be if he were protecting me..."

The conversation between Edward and Alice hinted at a complex dynamic and potential tensions within their group. It seemed that Alice was dismissive of Edward's concerns about Tony, focusing instead on her own thoughts about Tony's protective nature. The night held an air of mystery and uncertainty, leaving questions lingering in the air.

Alice snapped out of her dreamy daze, shaking her head to refocus her attention. Meanwhile, Tony began to experience a nighttime sweat, perhaps a result of the tension in the air.

Alice: "Right, let's get back on topic and go. It seems like they've gone to bed already. And you're right. It's our turn to take care of dinner tonight."

With a shared understanding, Alice and Tony turned away from the Swan house and made their way towards their own destination, leaving behind the mysteries and uncertainties of the night.
