Renegade Jenny (Pokemon Fanfic)

Policewoman dies upholding her values that have been passed on by her mentor and is reincarnated in the world of Pokémon with no cheats and knowledge of the games or anime but even that had not been that helpful to her in her new duties. After many losses of her Pokémon, many injuries and finally a death, she somehow finds herself back to the time of the officer exams where she received her first Pokémon. Twice engulfed in flames, twice dying for the cause and facing hardships but before her second death, she declared. ‘No more! If I survive this then I will no longer live like this!’ When she awoke, she decided to no longer stick to her principles that were taught to her by her mentor as it only brought her pain and she did not receive what she had earned through her self sacrifice. I do not claim to own Pokémon, its plot or characters but there are some changes I may make to the original story and add my own characters. The surveyor entered the building after taking back Tauros into the Pokéball then his eyes fell onto Kimi who had just closed and put away her laptop. "Kid you have done an excellent job. How about you take up a job here?"

He was eager to pick up a talent which had shown up on his doorstep but he did not get the answer he wanted when he saw Kimi shake her head in response. "Why?"

Kimi yawned to show how tired she was and hoped things would be hurried up so she could go sleep in a comfortable bed. "I prefer to work like this, I get to travel around and do my own thing."

The surveyor hesitated and then asked. "Are you certain? We could help you a lot and there would be chances to rise up to a higher position within the city or you could be recommended to the league."

Kimi shook her head with a frown on her face to show she had made up her mind. "No thanks."

The surveyor showed a look of regret then handed the data he collected to the attendant. "Handle this properly and treat her well like a valued customer."

Even though Kimi had rejected him, she was still a valued up and coming bounty hunter with great potential so it was in their best interests to have a good working relationship.

The attendant handled the data which had been collected and saw that there was a slight difference in the numbers of Pokéballs handed over and checked. "Was there anyone with you or others that carried out the same task when you were carrying it out?"

Kimi explained. "I had been accompanied by my father who assisted me a little and there were a couple of trainers around but no others. I have collected more but I decided to keep them."

It was well within her rights to keep her caught Pokémon private from others since they were her means of survival and each person had their own trump cards.

The only ones that could keep track of each person's Pokémon was the league, Sylph Co and other companies because each Pokéball was registered with the leagues system unless they were the illegal type that were custom made to avoid their information being shared with those in power.

It was not strange for some Pokémon to not be handed over during the bounty missions completion because many trainers had their own purposes for the collected Pokémon which they had been given free reign to catch as they like without having to suffer any warnings or consequences.

There were sometimes cases where trainers took things too far and affected the population of the Pokémon in the area badly or targeted rarer species driving the number of free Pokemon of that species to a very low number making them even rarer.

In such cases to protect the Pokémon and ensure that they remain in the world, trainers who overstepped those limits and caught them without limits would receive punishments.

It was similar to hunting and animal protection in Kimi's old world where the animals could be allowed to occupy certain parts of the world and be free but once they started to reach a stage that their species were close to becoming extinct, the humans would put together teams to ensure the species survival whether it was actively protecting them or setting up an enclosure to punishing those that continued to act in ways that endangered the species survival.

Since the data had been collected and the surveyor had marked completion as perfect, the attendant had a lot of work to do as he took the Pokéballs from Kimi then handed over the rewards. "Here you go."

His next duties would be to cancel the task and only accept the most recent task hand ins for it then he had to send out his report to the league.

Following that was a need to set a limit for that area so that trainers did not cause any problems to the population of the Pokémon within Viridian Forest.

Kimi's account had suddenly been replaced with a higher number than before as she received the reward for the task being completed by her only and from achieving a perfect score.

With the additional rewards for handing over a large amount of Pokémon and Pokéballs from participating in the task, the Pokéballs would be sent around to be put into circulation to be given to new trainers coming of age while Kimi had gained two hundred Pokédollars per Pokéball and an additional amount for the Pokémon depending on their talents and species.

It allowed Kimi to restock on Pokéballs and to gain some extra profits quickly so she did not mind that the additional payment was not a huge amount.

It was enough for her to purchase a decent item or a Pokémon with a decent talent or rarity.

Through her completion of the task, acquiring a single regular or medium grade evolution stone would cost Kimi more than two thousand Pokédollars while the higher quality ones would sell for anything above four thousand because of their rarity and being taken by others quickly once they appeared.

After getting everything, Kimi left and settled in her room as she put up the other Pokémon that she caught up for sale at a higher price on the forums.

Her hand stretched out towards Growlithe and smiled. "Everything is coming together and working to our advantage. Now we just need to chase down some leads to get what we want."

Growlithe licked her palm and responded happily. "Growlithe!"

Kimi turned to Eevee and petter her too. "You both have done well and grown so quickly. I am proud of you both."

Kimi remembered the message that was left behind along with the image of the person she had to find but to keep herself occupied, she had taken note of some other tasks in the area. "But first.. I should get some sleep and visit a place."

She drifted off into a deep sleep after thinking how to spend her hard earned money that would not go towards travel expenses, new Pokéballs, new ingredients and paying for bed and breakfasts at the local inn.

Kimi had left out expensive things like TM's until she was rich enough to spend more recklessly and had a more permanent team setup so she had started to set aside some money for the various items she had planned to stick up on.

Five thousand Pokédollars was set as her limit for purchasing the high quality Fire Stone while she had been thinking about how she should sell the Lead Stones that were collected.

There were some lower quality ones that would only sell for one thousand but there were still three among them that would sell for two thousand because they were of a regular or medium grade quality.

Kimi did not plan on selling them right away though since the Viridian Forest was still close by and she could easily visit there again to mine more in her free time.

The league had made many profits from the mining of the Leaf Stones so there must have been a large supply underground and Kimi had only touched a small portion of it.

It would be silly to move on to another location and leave behind such a profitable location without taking some more it it for herself.

It was even more unwise to be selling a large amount of Leaf Stones suddenly online or to others because it would only cause others to start asking where they came from.
