Old man

In between making some trips into Veridian Forest to mine the Leaf Stones, Kimi had spend her days visiting a couple of places and sorting out the sales and trading of what she had captured.

There was a small run down building in Pewder City which she was within, there were many small children running around and playing within and around the small yard outside.

Their clothing were old looking and had several patches which showed they were hand me downs from others and had been fixed up many times.

Kimi had placed a couple of plates filled with treats for humans then placed a couple of bowls on the ground.

Growlithe, Eevee, Tangela, Cubone, Poliwag and Ryhorn were running around playing with the children until the bowls were placed down.

Ryhorn was carrying a little girl on its back then happily walked over to eat with the girl still on its back. "Horn.. Ryhorn!"

Poliwag was creating bubbles which the children chased around and popped but then saw the food being placed down so it ran over. "Wag.. Poliwag!"

Cubone was waving its bone around while showing the children its mastery over the bone while the children copied waving sticks until the food arrived.

Tangela was using its vines to tickle the children and raise them up into the air but when the food was placed down, it put them down carefully and made its way over. "Tangela!"

Eevee and Growlithe were being chased around and being petted until they finally noticed the food and ran over. "Eevee!" "Growl Growlithe!"

The children noticed the laid out food at the table then ran over happily and took a small paper plate for the selves and started filling them with different things.

The place she was at was a small orphanage within Pewder City and she had visited a couple of times to provide some entertainment and support to the orphanage.

An old man walked into the orphanage and went to talk to the director of the orphanage in a back room.

They stayed inside and had a long talk until he had come out looking a little anxious and upset but he quickly corrected his emotions in front of the children.

He stayed with the children for most of the time that Kimi was there until she had left the building.

He stayed there for a while until he finally left the orphanage and wandered around Pewder City a little before returning to a small house outside the city.

While he was wandering around, he kept looking around at his surroundings before he finally went towards his home which showed that he had experience with finding out if others had been tracking him and was careful with not exposing where he was staying.

He was very careful in how he checked his surroundings and moved through the city to lose anyone who could have seen him before he had chosen to leave but he did not realise that he had someone who was tracking him the whole time.

He entered his home then started to work on some gadgets while going back and forth between his work and his laptop.

There was suddenly a knock at the door which made him very nervous. 'Nobody should be visiting at this time..'

A vigilant look appeared in his eyes and he took out a hunting rifle from underneath the table which had been strapped in place before looking out of a small hole in the door.

A strange hooded figure wearing a mask was standing outside which he had a hard time finding out who it was.

He brought the rifle closer to his body and held his finger against the trigger as he spoke. "Who are you and who has sent you?"

He was sure that he had been careful and there were no others who knew his whereabouts.

He had been hiding out in different places for a long time and had been avoiding being found so he was very confused how he had been found by someone.

The ordinary visitors were only those who were passing through or were a customer that needed something fixed up.

A small opening appeared in the door after he pulled on a lever and a small hand pushed a card through it. "I need a moment of your time. I am visiting because I believe that you need someone like me to work with you and we could work well together."

It was the voice was slightly different but it belonged to Kimi who had been visiting the orphanage ever since arriving at Pewder City.

She had been following a lead from information she had gained about a case in her previous life to find and track the old man.

With the use of her aura, Kimi had been able to track him without being discovered and followed him to his home.

She had spent a little time to get changed into her disguise and when she had knocked on the door, she had sensed the movements inside so she did not make any big movements and only pushed a small card through the opening.

The old man looked at the card then his eyes became shocked as he remembered something. 'It couldn't be that kid from before?'

The old man was the person that Kimi had met in Viridian City and had made her identity cards and documents.

He was someone who was destined to be captured by the police sooner or later and had a wide skillset.

His past was not widely known until he was later caught and many people from the league had come to take him away.

He spent the rest of his days working in a laboratory serving the remainder of his life and jail sentence until he died many years later.

He left behind a couple of achievements from his work but his contributions were slowly forgotten as the league and sylph company made use the progress he had made.

Kimi had known some of the details about his past from that information so she was even more interested in approaching him.

He was once a talented hacker and engineer which worked as a spy for the league to investigate many different groups which were a potential danger if left alone to develop.

Some experiments were illegal or morally wrong while others were not safe so it was his job to infiltrate their organisation as a scientist or engineer to allow him to report everything back to the league.

He was part of a special group with their own tasks and skillsets which only served those at the very top of the league but that was until he had been betrayed by one of the people in the group.

While he was a hacker and could find out information on his allies, he never looked into them unless those above asked him to but nothing had been revealed when they did so he never saw the betrayal coming.

Illegal funds and other things like bribes were easy to track and find but illegal Pokémon were not so easy to detect unless they were revealed.

The person that betrayed him had been supported with high level Pokémon which were in illegal Pokéballs so he did not see the attack coming and had greatly underestimated the power that they possessed.

He lost many Pokémon and was severely wounded which left him close to death but he had managed to escape and survive at the cost of losing his last Pokémon.

Ever since then, he had been living on the run and hiding because he could not trust anyone.

There could have been more people searching for him which was to confirm his death and were potentially traitors too so he kept moving around and lived in hiding most of his life.

When he had become older, the wrinkles and greyed hair had helped to change his appearance while helping him to avoid being recognised so he started going out a little more.

His only contact with others was when he visited the the orphanage and took on small jobs when he was not visiting the black market and stocking up on research materials and spare parts.

When he had been caught, his story had been exposed by someone in her department that handled the case before it was handled by the league.

Unfortunately it was already too late to have anything done about his past or the internal problems within his squad because the person who stabbed him in the back had already died years ago so when he was found by the league once again, he had to spend out the rest of his days using his abilities for them under a close watch without ever finding an answer about his past and who was the one who was pulling the strings back then.

The inner corruption within was never uncovered and he probably died filled with regret.

The old man hesitated a little then unlocked the door letting Kimi inside. "Come in but do not try anything funny."
