Chapter 44: The Magic Guards

The inn door busts open as men in dark purple robes wearing head covers* rush in wearing immunity masques.

Each guard wore the royal emblem, a dragon with two huge horns sticking from his head, and a massive gold crown sat on its head.

Each emblem is of different colors: periwinkle, orchid, violet, iris, and plum, with periwinkle being the lowest and plum being the highest in the hierarchy.

Long swords were sheathed at their waists. The hilt of each sword was the same color as their emblems, signifying their ranks.

"Magistrate Shen, we have placed a barrier surrounding the place to protect the citizens," a man said, walking up to Magistrate Shen.
