Chapter 31: The Abengers Part 4

*Kirari POV*

I found the area around Tokyo Bay quieter than normal, which is strange considering that a gang war was taking place here tonight. I guess that they would have to stay discreet with their war since the No. 1 Pro Hero, All Might's base of operations, Might Tower, is here in Tokyo.

It took a while before Oz and I finally found where the gang war was taking place. It was inside a rather large warehouse by the bay. I would have missed it if I didn't notice the flashing lights coming from inside through the windows.

We landed on the rooftop near a window/skylight. Using Electroreception, I sensed a large number of people moving around and clashing inside. Some areas were blurry through my senses which meant that there were people with electric related quirks fighting over there, and their quirks were interfering with my Electroreception.

I opened the window and looked inside only to see… well a "mess" is what I would call it.

The first thing I noticed were the countless bodies lying on the floor of the warehouse, badly beaten up and bloody. Some had limbs missing while others could only be called "piles of meat" by this point.

"If I hadn't mentally trained myself to get used to seeing such scenes, I would probably be puking rainbows by now." I stated my thoughts out loud to no one in particular.

"What should we do now, my Lady?" Oz questioned.

"Let me see…"

There were still a lot of people fighting inside and for some reason, no sound was coming from the warehouse. It was probably due to someone's quirk, so I should be careful not to accidentally stop whatever that person is doing. I don't want a horde of heroes coming over here too early.

If I had to guess, the silencer would probably be one of those guys that was just standing by at one side of the warehouse without fighting. There were three people in that group.

One guy looked like he was shouting and pointing at people. He looked like a typical Yakuza and was probably some boss who was giving orders around.

Another guy was crouched down with his hands touching the ground. He was probably the guy keeping the sound from coming out of this place.

The last person was a female with red hair. She was just standing there, looking like her eyes were glazed over or something.

In the center of the warehouse was where the bulk of people were.

I saw Rojiya holding a manhole as a shield. Weird choice of weapon, but who am I to judge? I once used a swatter after all…

Souji was with him, wielding his sledgehammer. They were both in the middle of a crowd of villains that surrounded them.

The villains were ganging up on them, trying to take them down, but Rojiya and Souji stayed back-to-back and were skillfully holding them off.

Rojiya protected himself from attacks using the manhole, occasionally throwing it at villains to knock them out. For some reason, the manhole always magically ended up back in his arms. His quirk, maybe?

Souji was swinging his sledgehammer around. Each time his hammer connected with someone, they would either be electrocuted and fall unconscious or get knocked away into other people.

Tetsu was in his quirk armor and using his jet boosters to dash around and shoot people with his repulsor beams. He kept getting bombarded by long-range attacks, but he shrugged them off as they bounced off his armor.

Haruhisa, or at least what I thought was Haruhisa, was fighting with someone one on one. He had grown bigger and bulkier, and his skin turned to a shade of green. The top half of his kimono was ripped up due to his swole muscles. Thankfully, the bottom half remained intact.

His opponent had some sort of mutant quirk and looked like a giant disfigured gorilla. Haruhisa's fight with the gorilla was the most intense. Each clash they had sent out shockwaves. Because of this, no one else was near them.

Yup. They were definitely Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, and Hulk knock-offs. They're just missing Black Widow and Hawkeye for the full set…

There were a bunch of smaller fights scattered around the warehouse going on, but the ones I mentioned were the most notable.

"Since we don't really know who belongs to which side, we will focus on finding our own targets while occasionally helping those people." I told Oz and pointed out Rojiya, Souji, Tetsu, and Haruhisa to him.

"Understood. How shall we go about doing that?"

At Oz's question, I took a pose and clapped my hands together.

"Isn't it obvious?"

I pulled my hands apart to reveal an arc of electricity between them. I felt my energy drop as the electricity built up and increased in intensity.

"We'll be fighting head on! [Thunderbolt: Chain Lightning]!"

After speaking my move name out like a chuuni, I brought my hands forward, toward the crowd where Rojiya and Souji were.

Multiple shots of Thunderbolt rained down and hit the crowd of people. I made sure to control my electricity to only knock them out, but to my surprise, only a few of the ones that were hit had dropped while the rest only got shocked a bit.

"Damn."

If anyone from my past life was hit with that amount of electricity, they would definitely be incapacitated.

Do all the people here have increased resistance or is it due to anime logic?

Guess that means I can hold back less.

The war stopped for a second after my surprise attack, and Rojiya and Souji took the chance I gave them to break out of their encirclement. They headed towards the group of three I saw earlier after giving me a thankful glance.

My action, of course, did not go unnoticed as numerous attacks were fired in my direction.

I quickly jumped down through the window and avoided them, purposefully jumping towards an electric attack that was heading my way.

I got hit by the attack and absorbed it with Electro-charge to refill the energy I used earlier.

As I fell, I put up an Electric Shield around my body.

Some guy who had gun barrels for fingers shot at me, but the bullets were blocked by my shield.

'Oz!'

I mentally called my familiar, who was in his Zapdos form, to not expose his name.

He avoided all the attacks and dived towards me, quickly arriving near my back.

'Let's test that move we practiced.'

'Understood!'

When we were only a few meters away from hitting the ground, Oz and I combined.

"[Midnight Phantasmagoria]!"

I couldn't help but shout out Fischl's signature elemental burst that I kind of recreated.

I say "kind of" because unlike the original from Genshin Impact where Oz and Fischl fused, he instead transforms and wraps around me like a layer of armor.

A big chunk of my energy was used and a burst of electricity erupted from us after our combination. It knocked out the villains that were unfortunate enough to be near our landing point.

I was tempted to do a superhero landing, but we can fly in this form so we had no need to land.

With a flap of our wings, we flew towards the nearest conscious villains, who were about to lose that privilege.

Attacks from everywhere continued to come our way but they bounced off our combined electric shielding. Good to know that our defenses were good enough to block those physical attacks. I would have backed off otherwise.

It did take a toll on my energy reserves to block them, but another electric attack came our way which we absorbed to recover energy again.

If these guys knew that they had a shitty teammate that was "feeding" the enemy, I wonder how pissed they would be?

We did a barrel roll to dodge a fireball type attack and arrived at a group of villains.

"AHHH!"

The villains shouted out after our wings clipped them and they were electrocuted to unconsciousness. This caused the other villains to react.

"Shit! Who the hell?!"

"Is it a hero?!"

"Somebody take down that chicken!"

How rude.

We took that insult personally and fired an Electro-ball at that offender that dared to call us a chicken. The ball hit the chicken-caller right on the chest and the subsequent electric burst AOE took him out along with the other villains around him.

"Die!"

The villain with gun fingers screamed and fired at us again from a distance. We were still flying around so most of his shots missed.

He didn't seem to care about friendly fire as he even hit other people we flew by. One guy got a headshot and his brains almost splattered all over us.

Yup. I think I found the first guy I was going to kill in this battle royal.

We flew towards the gun finger villain who kept shooting at us.

The bullets bounced off Oz + Electric Shield. He couldn't get it through his head that his shots were ineffective against us.

By the time the gun finger villain realized this and started running, it was already too late. While flying, I had built up a lethal dose of electricity to guarantee killing this guy no matter what resistances he may have. We were already within three meters of him.

When I was about to launch my attack and was a moment away from giving him the electric chair treatment, Oz abruptly split apart from me without warning.

'Apologies, my Lady! I lost control! Seeing the target fleeing like that made my predatory instincts act up…'

'It's fine! Looks like we still need more practice using that move.'

Midnight Phantasmagoria was a move that required Oz and I to sync our thoughts and actions, with Electromaster working as a buffer between us. The moment we become out of sync even by a little bit, we would separate.

Since we were no longer combined, I lost the ability to fly, and I had to do a roll when I hit the ground to disperse the momentum.

My built up attack was halved due to Oz splitting up, with him keeping the other half. He promptly used it to fire a big Electro-ball at another group of villains who were attacking Tetsu.

I quickly got to my feet and noticed that my target had increased the distance between us a bit, not that it mattered.

I pointed my finger at him and shot my built up Thunderbolt at him.

Just when it was about to hit him… By some miraculous coincidence, the villain tripped on a random severed arm causing him to fall and my attack to shoot over his head.

It went and hit both Haruhisa and his gorilla opponent causing them to stiffen up a bit before resuming their fight after sending me a hateful glare.

"Sorry!"

I inadvertently shouted out, forgetting how my "lethal" attack only managed to stun the two giants momentarily.

I'm going to need to practice being more aware of my surroundings during battles to avoid repeating a friendly fire scenario. It's why I dove down here in the first place: to get battlefield experience as well as level up experience.

I saw that the gun finger villain had gotten up, and tried to run again.

I was starting to get irritated at this point. It's like the world was delaying my final level up on purpose!

Angrily, I flicked my arm and my wire shot out toward the villain who happened to look back towards me just at this moment.

I saw his eyes bulge out as my wire wrapped around his neck.

"GET OVER HERE!" I screamed out my irritation.

I used Electro-therapy to boost my muscles and yanked my wire causing the villain to fly through the air and get pulled towards me.

He pointed at me and shot while in midair, but the bullets just got blocked by my Electric Shield as usual.

I pulled out one of my two remaining knives, and right before the villain can crash into me, I stabbed forward.

*Puchi*

My knife pierced through and got buried into the gun finger villain's skull.

*Ding*

"FINALLY! LEVEL 30 FISCHL!"

Chapter End.

A/N:

Yes, I was indeed trying to delay the level up so that I can end the chapter right at this moment. It's all for my Dao of Cliffhanger. BWAHAHAHA! … And also the word count was pretty high already so… yeah.

I could have made the fight different, like staying on the roof and attacking from a distance. But I wanted to showcase as much of Fischl as I could before I switch focus to the new character.

Don't worry. Kirari/Fischl won't be ignored. I got a way to make sure of that.

P.S.: I GOT ITTO! Oh the sweet taste of victory! Heh heh. That's right!
