As Raas' large serpent head pocked out, he saw two groups of soldiers fighting each other. Weapons in hand, they clashed swords, fired arrows, and cast magic onto each other. The area is filled with turbulent magic, explosions, and debris. Their powers were somewhat lackluster compared to what he was used to. It was more like a light show or a B-rated fight scene.

The group of elves, which wore similar green and brown armor to the woman, was pushed back by the sheer numbers of the attackers. Being outnumbered 1 to 5, they couldn't do much. But they tried to hold off the attackers and buy as much time possible for reinforcement to come, at least they hoped they would. Weaving and dodging between the trees hold of the attackers.

The two groups fought fiercely, but the black iron-clad soldiers would just shrug off most of the elves' attacks. Blue glyphs would light up every time a bolt or strick hit the armored warriors.

Raas watched the fight unfold, he could probably easily disperse it, but for what reasons?

Just to expose himself and get hunted down?

Nah, he wouldn't help th-

"Everything alright?" asked the scared elf in the back. Raas turned around and saw her disheveled appearance.

"... yessss..." With a long hiss, he took a deep breath and got up. 'I already got one witness what is a few more?'

'I guess it is time to reveal myself to the outside world... Can't be a dungeon dweller my whole life now that I am in a fantasy world.'' thought Raas as he slowly slithered out of the cave.

...

"Kill them! Don't let anyone escape!" shouted Commander Greyborn trying to rally his troops. "Those nature-loving barbarians will get what's coming for them!"

A red aura washed over them as his men roared with zeal. With newfound power, they charged even harder toward the nimble elves.

But he didn't apply for the job to just stand behind and watch his group get all the fun. No, he wanted to be in the mids of it all. Unsheathing his two axes he charged forward, a smile plastered on his face as he leaped towards a lone elf that got separated from the retreating group.

The elf tried to scramble to its feet while shooting arrows at Greyborn, but against the dark legion armor it just harmlessly bounced off.

With a sickening crunch, Greyborn landed right on the scout's chest. The force behind the attack left a large hole in his chest.

The look on the scout's face made Greyborn grin. Greyborn laughed maniacally as he dismembered the elves' arms. Leaving the slowly dying elf on the ground with no hopes of healing himself he stepped away looking for his next victim.

It didn't take long for him to spot another injured elf scampering behind a tree, but as he looked approached the injured scout he suddenly felt his hair stand on end. It was as if a predator was watching him. His heart felt like it was in a vice grip. He was too scared to move, and his palms felt dripped with cold sweat.

In the corner of his eye, he spotted it. A giant red golden serpent head pocked through the leaves of a tree. The visage of the monster is more terrifying than anything he has seen in his 20 years of monster hunting.

Its mere presence was unbearable, and it was mocking him. Greyborn could swear he saw a sadistic glint in its deep green eyes. Taunting him to attack, to approach him, as it knew even trying to flee was going to be useless.

Greyborns hand twitched as the monster opened its maw unnaturally wide.

"Commander Greyborn what is wro-"

The words of his second-in-command made him snap out of it and his training kicked in.

"RETREAT!!!!" yelled Greyborn not even letting him finish speaking as he already dropped his axes and began to run.

The other soldiers were confused. They never heard their commander so scared. Heck, they never even heard their commander issued an order of retreat, at most to hold the position. But as soldiers that went through countless battles, they immediately obeyed and ran.

Seeing nothing happening Greyborn smiled bitterly. ''I may die here today, but at least those elves too will get annihilated by that monster.'

His thoughts got interrupted as he suddenly felt immense heat. Taking a glimpse back his eyes almost popped out of his head.

A small ball of fire quickly grew between the maw of the monster. It burned so brightly that he almost got blinded just from looking at it. The heat wave was already barely bearable from that distance and everything in the monster's area got set aflame.

*PHEWwww*

"Deffense formation now! Use all remaining talismans! Potions! Skills! FUCKING EVERYTHING!"

As he looked back he saw a blinding ball of pure heat rushing towards them.

"Shit! Hold ground!"

"""[Armor up][Defensive Cry][Guardians Howl][Durability Up][Protection of Fire][Stone Wall][Mana to Armor][Ilumisence Grace][Lesser Barrier][Holy Shield][Mental Fortitude][Stone Skin][Rock Solid][Mass Fortification][Blessing of Water]"""

It took only a second before the group ran in a tight formation flashing in various colors as they cast barriers, equipping save guard talismans, and using every defensive skill in their arsenal.

[Arms of the Damned]!" Roared Greyborn as he activated his bloodline ability. Two grey arms sprouted out of the ground and enveloped the whole group.

It was an ability that his great-grandparents acquired after drinking the blood of a demon baron. A skill that was as good in killing as it was in defending.

This skill was the sole reason he got as high as he is now. It saved him and his men numerous times, but seeing the monsters attack he could only pray that he would survive this encounter. And luckily he didn't know that the serpent's attack was imbued with some traces of holy/godly elements, as it would completely break the little hope he still had.

"BRACE FOR IMPACT!"

...

Raas watched as he unleashed his [Sun Breath] attack. It quickly flew towards the retreating group. And in a spectacular show of fire, it enveloped the whole region.

*BOOOOOOOOOOM*

The heat washed over him as his eyes slightly dried. The elves that were watching the whole scene unfold got thrown back from the shockwave.

The fire expanded and just erased the vegetation where the black armored soldiers were, but Raas was surprised that the ginormous trees survived. Albeit with a blackened bark and some wisp of fire still burning.

When the dust settled Raas saw the grey hands being burned to the bones, dripping molten flesh onto the charred earth. Raas flicked his tongue as he saw the one summoning those hands stare toward him.

His armor glowed red hot seemingly having molten to his body, his hands were outstretched, looking almost as charred as those grey hands. The rest of the group didn't stand up quite as well as their leader. Either screaming in pain, instantly evaporated, burned to crisps, or lungs too damaged to even scream.

'HOLY smock was that a big explosion! Haven't used that skill in what felt like ages and look at it now... But some are still alive so there is room for improvement, and better finish this up.' thought Raas as he unfurled his wings. 'But this time I will try something different.'

Spreading his wings to their full extent he towered over them. His golden wings made a stark contrast to his otherwise menacing appearance.

With a quick flap dozens of human-sized feathers shot forth cutting through the air. Like large ballista arrows, they pierce through the remaining few soldiers killing them instantly.

'Ok definitely have to improve the accuracy on that skill' thought Raas as he saw the sheer amount of feathers he unleashed to kill them all. 'But I have definitely gotten stronger and bigger... and stop spamming me with those system notifications! I will be checking it when I have the time god damn it!" cried Raas, pushing all the pesky notifications away.

Turning his head towards the elves he noticed that they hurriedly scrambled away, some even turning invisible that even his eyes couldn't see them.

Unlike when he was in that god-forsaken dimension his [Danger Smelling Tongue] wasn't blaring alarms at him 24/7. So, ignoring those fleeing elves he turned towards the cave where he already saw Lana covering her ears from the loud noise.

"It's alright now. You can come out."

"..."

"Oh right..."

Tapping her on the shoulders she yelped and opened her eyes.

"Come."

Said Raas as he signaled for her to follow him out.

Seeing the extent of the aftermath her eyes widened. The heat was still quite eminent. Gone was the cool spring breeze and instead a scorching hot desert wind blew.

He slithered towards the explosion sight and could feel the hot burning ground, but to him, it was just the right temperature to sunbathe.

Erasing the traces of the humans and his feathers he slithered through and gulped everything up. The taste was definitely not tasty as they were charred beyond belief, but it wasn't as unpleasant as he thought.

Lana tried to keep her last meal down as he ate the roasted bodies and feathers.

"You know this guy?" asked Raas as he pointed towards one of the slain elven soldiers.

She looked towards where Raas pointed. Her breath hicked as she saw the familiar soldier. Kneeling next to the corps she took of the helmet. Her eyes began to water as she recognized the soldier. It was one of the kind guards that always got her a glass of cold water after her hunting trips.

Raas awkwardly slithered next to her and patted her back with his tail. Clearly not helping her calm down as she jerked every time he patted her.

Not being good at soothing people he decided to just ignore it and continue. "Anyway, got to dispose of the evidence.." Curling his tail around the legs, he opened his mouth ready to eat the dead soldier.

"No! Please, my lord! Don't eat this one! Let me bury him. I beg you, great demigod!" pleaded the elf as her head touched the ground.

Contemplating for a moment about what to do he relented. "...ok I guess we could bury him then." Said Rass as he let the corps go and started to dig a small ditch.

'Why was my first reaction "Ah I should eat the evidence"?'
