Royal Guards!

Seeing the condition of his father and the others, Link did not know what was happening.

"Is that really Peter?" Link muttered under his breath as he instinctively reached to his side and grabbed his Hunting knife.

Activating Shadow Walk, Link became undetectable, he ran around the scene of battle trying to attack the creature from behind. Being too distracted with the constant attacks, Peter was focused on them, not that he was in a disadvantage or afraid, it was the opposite.

As a demon pawn, he is rarely allowed to wield such powers, fighting all these people was extremely fun, a creepy smile appeared on his face.

ARGH

Suddenly, Peter screamed. His roar sent shivers down Samuel and the other's backs, they didn't know what was happening as they didn't notice Link.

Seeing his exhausted father, his home being in that shape, the state of his friends and the death of Eddy. Link had an odd look, his eyes were murderous, running all the Mana he could through his weapon, he aimed and stabbed the creature in the back. The knife easily sunk in and with a firm grip on it's handle he swung his arm, passing it all the way to its side dealing severe damage.

Its spine and organs were shown, blood cascaded like a fountain.

"Link!" All people present yelled at the same time, they were fighting the being for a while now unable to do any real damage to it. Seeing the giant wound that appeared they were excited and shocked.

They did manage to land hits, it was just that they never seemed to bother the thing, shrugging everything off, But Link managed to open the fiend like that with ease.

Peter staggered forward, still screaming. It looked back, seeing the injury and the person who dealt it, it was enraged.

"LINK!" Words somehow came out of its mouth, sounding wrong to hear.

"Hey Peter, missed me?" Link smirked, holding his knife backwards and jumping at it.

Seeing Link charge it, Peter jumped back as he swung his claws at him. He was slow, weakened by the sneak attack. He needed to buy himself time to heal and Link didn't seem like he was going to give him the chance.

As the claws came his way, Link tried to deflect them with his knife.

Clank!

As the blade of the knife landed on the nails it shattered, sending small bits of steel everywhere.

"You arrogant brat, you think that flimsy knife can stand a chance against my claws" Peter yelled, But before the smirk lasted for too long, he frowned. Link was still going forward, holding no weapon in his hand. With that impact the knife did shatter, but it also successfully deflected Peter's attack.

"Arrogant" Peter yelled again, seeing Link running at him. "I have two hands you know" Peter said as his other arm came at Link aiming for his neck.

"LINK!" Rao yelled, knocking an arrow in and taking aim at the fiend, with the rest doing the same. While some used magic, Samuel tried to strike the back of the fiends legs in an attempt to make it stumble and seize its movement.

Everything ended in failure.

The arrow hit the fiend and broke, the spells had no effect while Samuel's sword strike made a metal on metal noise, having no effect other than a small surface cut.

As everyone panicked, Link smiled.

"Gotcha!" Link kept smiling, light shone from his hand, a black dagger appeared, he grabbed it firmly.

"Blink" Link suddenly disappeared.

AGHRR!

A gurgling noise could be heard. As all present looked over, they saw Link hanging on the fiend's back, his arm wrapped around it's forehead while both his legs were on it's shoulders, he was crouching with the black Dagger in his hand, covered in blood.

"A Beast Soul" Peter spat blood, his eyes wide looking at the weapon.

As Link still held onto the fiend's head, he suddenly started falling backwards. The head could no longer hold him there, as it fell alongside him.

With a strong push, Link jumped back with the head still in his hand, sending the fiend's body forward, and him landing back safely.

Silence.

No one said a thing. They all stared at Link in shock, unable to keep their mouths shut.

Killing something in a minute while it took them hours was astonishing.

Though Link knew that if his first sneak attack did not land he would have had a lot of trouble fighting it, he might have even lost.

Seeing that nobody was saying anything, Link walked forward, touching the body.

Wosh!

It vanished, Shocking the others even further.

At this point Link knew that either way for him to get his hands on the body would end up in people asking questions, they might misunderstand and think Link hid it out of greed, but now he can make up any lie he wants.

"Link" Rao ran over, hugging him.

Even though the creature was looking for him, which confirmed that it did not land a hand on him, he still learned that Link went into the woods and with the time he spent there without any sign of him scared Rao to death.

"Are you ok?" He asked

"Yeah, i'm ok. Sorry i came back late i fell asleep"

After getting scolded by his father for a while, they started walking back to the village. They tried to look away from the bodies. The hunters could not help but cry as they passed Eddy. They needed to send people to carry all of them and hold a proper funeral for each.

Those were the events of the next few days. After the funerals and the clean up. Nine people were sitting in Link's home, specifically Link's room.

"Ok, we knew that you were hiding a lot of things, but we held back from asking, that was us respecting your privacy, but now i believe each one of us deserves an answer" Said Anny.

Anny, Lisa, Rena, Rao, Sal, Robart; Ranlod, Samuel and Gail stood waiting.

Link was surprised, nobody asked him anything which concerned him, but now they all barged into his room demanding answers. He knew that he couldn't tell them about the system or about him being from another world, so he modified his story a bit, excluding the system and some details and started speaking.

He told them about his training from young after he 'Randomly found' the accumulation book in his fathers bag. Also about him sneaking into the forest to hunt, about him learning how to butcher animals from Eddy and about the being that attacked him at his house.

He said nothing about his skills or how he absorbs magic stones. It was a powerful ability and it might lead to trouble in the future, so Link decided that it would be better to keep it from them. About the body disappearing after he touched it he said that he didn't know what happened either, he tried to make it seem like it was the Master demon that did something to take it back, though his lie was not very convincing he knew that they would have no choice but believe him, i mean who would think about the inventory skill and all that, and the body disappeared in front of them, they only saw Link put his leg on it but that didn't mean anything and gave them no ideas.

Looking at everyone, he saw some looks of surprise and worry, but as his eyes landed on Anny and Rao he saw anger.

He knew why they were angry, their son had been putting himself in danger and risking his life without their knowledge.

After he finished, he ended up with another scolding that lasted for hours.

After the incident, the village chief reported it to the Royal Guards, he sent a messenger which took about a week for people to come.

In the sky, the villagers could see 5 humanoid silhouettes, they had what looked like wings. As they started to land, they became clearer. The 5 men wore white armor with a symbol on their sword handles and shields. It looked like two dragons circling an eye. As someone stared at them they gave off an intimidating aura.

They landed on the floor, and the village chief approached them.

"We're the Royal Guards of the Rechanguard Kingdom, we received a report of a demon attack, are we in the right place?" A tall man covered in the steel white armor spoke, the armor was giving off a Holy Aura.

"Yes sir, this is Toula village. Come please" The chief led them around the spot where the incident happened. He told them everything he knew and showed them the claw marks.

After they finished investigating, the Royal Guard Team Leader Spoke "Are you certain?" He asked.

"Yes, after the fiend died it's body disappeared, we have no clue what happened"

Link was standing with the crowd. He was nervous as he did not know that the royal guards would be involved, he thought the incident would pass but it was taken way more seriously than he thought it would.

The demons were dangerous specious, they can create powerful pawns easily and with the power their god gave them, they were not taken lightly.

As Link was lost in thought, he heard someone call for him.

"Link, come" The chief waved to him.

Without understanding what was happening he went over, bowed to the Royal Guards as a form of greeting. He noticed their Wings were tucked together on their back, they looked like capes now.

"I want a pair," Link thought to himself.

"Is this the kid?" The Leader asked.

"Yes sir, he killed the fiend and was attacked by something related to it before the incident" The chief spoke "Link, please tell them what happened"

"Ok" After finishing his story, with a little tampering of course, He heard someone speak from behind the Leader.

"You take us for fools?" He said, annoyance obvious in his voice "You want us to believe a 13 year old child managed to kill a demon and something else that looked like one?"

Everyone was silent, even the Leader did not speak as he thought the same as his subordinate did.

"That is what happened, i don't understand what would be the reason for us to lie" Link spoke, he understood their point of view but the Guard's tone still irritated him.

"That is what we're trying to figure out, and if we don't get a clear picture there might be consequences." The same Guard spoke once more.

"You really think we're dumb enough to not think of a better lie? Even a child can come up with something better, but that is what happened" Link said, frowning.

After the chief heard Link's tone, he tried to stop him but the Guard spoke once more.

"Ok kid, come at me, show us the demon slayer that you are" The guard moved further from the group, it was a clearing.

"Hue, what are you doing?" The Leader said, looking at the guard.

"This is the best and easiest way for us to confirm their story."

"He's just a kid, take it easy on him" The leader seemed to have agreed, he turned to Link and said "Go ahead, give it your all and don't worry he won't hurt you, we just want to confirm."

Link nodded and walked a bit forward, faced the man and spoke "I can attack with all i got right? Including using lethal force?"

"Yes, you have my permission, my armor is strong enough to take hits from Level 6 Magical Beasts, but if you manage to land a hit on me once, you win. now come" the Guard spoke.

Link nodded again and started running towards him.

"I'll use the same tactic I used against Peter with some extra spice, it would be enough to catch him off guard" Link thought to himself.

As Link ran, the Guard smiled under his helmet, he thought to himself "Is this kid serious? A frontal attack like that would easily get him killed if this was a real fight"

Link was a few feet away from the Guard, he pulled his arm back, preparing to punch the man.

"Why would you pull your arm all the way back like that, it makes it obvious what you're going to do" The Guard kept thinking. As the fist got closer, the guard moved slapping the fist away and going for Link's collar with his other arm.

As the Guards watching thought it was over, and the Leader prepared himself to intervene if it went too far.

Link vanished.

The Guards and some spectators opened their eyes, as they saw Link appear behind the Guard with an odd black knife in his hand.

Wosh!

The knife blurred in the air, aiming at the Guard's temple.

The Royal Guards are the elites of the elites, they are hand picked from veteran soldiers and trained with the best resources and instructors.

For Hue, he was one of the best. He survived many battles and fought in wars. His instinct was the best. But that was not a good thing in this situation.

He looked down on Link, seeing him as an arrogant kid who saw nothing of the real world.

When Link attacked at first, no killing intent showed, he looked as normal as one could be, but when he disappeared and appeared again behind him, with a knife aiming at his head, the killing intent Link let out alarmed Hue, and that led to his muscle memory taking over his body.

Mana passed through his body, as he ducked.

It was so fast that not even Link, who was right behind him, saw it happen. It was like he vanished as well.

Hue twisted his body, lifting his leg which was brimming with Mana and prepared to kick Link in his side.

The Power was enough to kill him the moment it lands.

The Leader seeing this was about to move, but before he could he saw Link vanish again.

The kick hit nothing, but the Air current that the force of the kick created was terrifying.

My health got worse and I was taken to the hospital, so I wasn't able to upload or write anything.

I got worse at first but then I improved, and yesterday I was tested negative for Covid. So i think i'm back :)
