Jake was a huge Star Wars fan. he had read all the books, saw the shows, and movies. He had models actionfigures everything. After going to a convention and picking up some more collectibles, he was struck by lightning waking up in a plain white room.
An old man was sitting at a table across from him. "Sorry, son, that was an accident." The old man stated. "I was messing around with some lightning, and it got away from me."
Jake quickly thought of who this man could be. "God?" He asked. The kind old man nodded. "You can consider me that." Mike then asked if he could return.
"No, son," God said, "Even I have rules I must abide."
"So what now?" Jake asked. "Am I to be judged?" He knew he should be angry that God of all people killed him by accident, but this was God. Even if Jake was angry, what could he do?
God smiled as if hearing his thoughts. "No, I won't be judging you today. As this was my fault, I am going to give you a new life in a universe you know so well." God then showed him the Star Wars universe.
Jake became excited, "Am I going to be a jedi? Have a system?"
God shook his head. "No. Instead of a system, I am going to give you 1 template, 3 teachers, and technology from another sci-fi universe you can adapt to yours. This includes 1 ship. The ship will be able to be summoned when you are ready for it, but besides the initial summoning, you have to handle maintenance of it yourself, so be careful what you wish for."
Jake thought about it a moment. "Can my actions affect major events, or are those set in stone? Do the teachers have to be from Star Wars or can I pick a teacher from a different world to train me?"
God sat back. This mortal had a good head on his shoulder and asked questions few do. "Your actions can indeed affect the world. But be warned every time you affect a major event, the path will change. Eventually, your knowledge may become useless if you affect it too much. As for your other request, you may select 1 teacher, not from Star Wars, to teach you."
Jake thought this fair and asked how it would work.
"After you are reincarnated, 3 years will pass. Use these 3 years to learn what you can. In the end, you will be summoned to the world between worlds. a space where time and space do not matter." Mike remembered it from the show rebels. As if sensing his thoughts, God nodded. "That show only showed the barest potential of the world it can connect time, space, and even other realities. I will guide your chosen teachers to this place to have them teach. after you have learned, then you will be sent back 2 seconds after you left, not aging in the slightest. Now, you may pick your template."
Jake thought about it. He could pick Luke, Anakin, Revan, and Yoda. But as he thought he remembered Galen Marik. Marik, while not appearing in anything after the force unleashed games and tie-in media, showed he had enormous potential that was unexplored. His force potential alone seemed to rival Vader and Sidious . He made his choice, and God nodded. "As you wish." Jake was then consumed by a flash of light.
"Gavin, Gavin wake up if we are late again Master Jocasta Nu will lecture us." Jake heard as he woke for the first time into his new life as Gavin Marik.
