The stench of smoke lingered in the caves of Lapidcea, the magical ventilation unable to do its job, destroyed by the massive magical fluctuations within the cave—fluctuations emanating from the two dragonic creatures as well as the individuals battling it out.
The dark smoke coated the cave's roof, painting it black. With nowhere to escape, it slowly descended, thickening the air. The cave was now barely visible, but for the combatants, the smog was no bother.
Ossa, with only five minutes to maintain his near-infinite mana, was on the offensive. He combined his vast pool of mana with his slightly lesser pool of aura, the blend making him invincible to both magical and physical attacks.
Despite giving his all, Gimli could barely leave a scratch on Ossa's body. The paladin took each of the elderly dwarf's attacks head-on, undeterred.
Quickly and meticulously, Ossa closed in, reaching out his hand towards the dwarf's neck.
Shhh!
