Chapter 21: Albus's Journey

A dragon born from a pure white egg, created by the game to stand above other beings, Albus has intelligence far more than a normal human being. Since birth, Albus has picked up the languages of humans, making Albus able to understand what Zaine or Amy is saying.

During Albus's journey with Zaine and Amy, he felt comfortable with them. By their side, Albus felt loved and cared for. During all that they went through, their bond got closer. Zaine and Amy became part of her life.

Albus had always been laid back and slack off since birth, but one day, Albus felt fear for the first time. It was when they came face to face with a dragon.

It realized that their strength was no match to the adult dragon's strength. If it were to be attacked by the dragon, even the weakest one, Albus would not be able to do anything and be killed in one attack.

Albus felt hopeless as they hid together with Amy. They saw the sacrifices Zaine went through to keep both of them alive. This new feeling that Albus is experiencing will shape what it will become.

Albus is determined to get stronger after seeing that both Zaine and Amy did feats. It could not stand being a burden to them.

After they found themselves at the entrance to the village safe zone, Albus felt that it could not stay like how it is anymore. It knew that things had to change, so Albus decided to leave their side and explore the world while getting stronger at the same time.

There are two main ways that Albus could gain experience and become stronger. First is from being in Zaine's party and gaining experience each time Zaine's minions killed any monsters. The second one is from Albus themself killing monsters.

Albus sets out into the wilderness in search of prey and tough monsters, and with its wings, it has learned how to fly.

The white dragon hunts almost anything in sight, from tiny monsters like spiders and rats to giant monsters like Giants and Trolls. There are times when Albus encounters strong, never to be seen monsters and withdraws.

Days and nights pass as Albus continues hunting for monsters, all to gain experience and become stronger.

After a few days of hunting, Albus had considerably grown in size, making her feared by monsters around. Albus continues to fly around the vast world, following its instinct to guide it to other places.

Albus wound up at an old temple, covered by moss and pieces of rocks. Albus could feel the energy coming from the place, and Albus decided to go inside the temple.

Inside is a spring where the energy is coming from. Albus sticks one of its paws to the water. Albus could feel the mana of the place being absorbed into Albus's body. The hand Albus dipped started changing its shape into small humanlike hands.

Albus had always felt different from Zaine and Amy. It wished to have the ability to transform into humans so they could always be together.

The mana circulating in the pond allows Albus to change the shapes of its body.

Albus was shocked at the change in his limbs. It slipped into his whole body and fell into the water. Albus' form changes to a female kid. She could see a face reflected from the water.

Albus slowly realizes that the reflection is her.

She felt a mixture of feelings. Happy, sad, excited, hopeful, and concerned. She had always been separated from Zaine and Amy each time they encountered other people, but now she could stay by his side anytime.

She went out of the water and dried herself. Soon she reverted to being a dragon.

After being transformed into a human for the first time, Albus grew curious about the magical water there. Every time she dipped her body inside, it would turn her human.

Albus experiences a couple of trials and errors. Slowly, she starts to feel the properties of the water and understands the magic behind it. She even manages to copy its effect by creating her transformation magic, enabling her to become human at will.

After that, Albus goes to the village where Zaine and Amy reside.

Upon getting close to the village, She saw Zaine and Amy leaving. Albus rushed back to them, flying over them.

Albus lands on the ground, creating smoke from the dust.

Soon, the dust settled, and Albus emerged from the dust in her human form, walking toward Zaine and Amy with a smile.
