Chapter 22: Avalon

The dust clears, and a little girl walks toward Zaine and Amy.

A gentle smile could be seen on her face. Her walking pace got faster and faster as she ran toward Zaine and Amy.

"Albus, is that you?" Ask Zaine while he squinted his eyes, looking at the running girl. Albus jumped and hugged both of them.

"Zein, Ami, am back!" Yells Albus, finally speaking for the first time.

Zaine was skeptical for once. But after checking around with the status, he confirmed that she was Albus.

Amy and Zaine are surprised that Albus manages to learn how to talk even though it is still not perfect. They could understand each other now.

They share a pleasant moment reuniting together. Zaine could see that Albus considerably increased in power based on the levels she gained over the days.

After the reunion, they decided to continue their journey to Avalon.

Albus turns into her dragon form and tells Zaine and Amy to hop on her back. Albus flaps her wings as they lift from the ground.

Zaine's body got pumped by the adrenaline as he and Amy watched the road below them get smaller and smaller.

The view from up there can't be compared to anything. Different arrays of color complemented the blue sky's beautiful scenery.

Zaine and Amy enjoyed the ride as they felt the wind breeze toward them.

A few hours passed, they could see a harbor at the continent's edge. There seems to be a lot of traffic going on there.

Albus landed a mountain near the harbor, just far enough so people don't see them. Then they continue their journey on foot.

Approaching the bustling harbor entrance, they find themselves on an inspection with one of the guards.

"Hello there, I have never seen you around here before. Are you new?" Ask the man while looking at Zaine and his party.

"Yes, we are refugees from the old earth." Answer Zaine.

"Oh, you're from the old earth, welcome welcome, please go in." The guards were surprised that there were still people outside the safe zone until now.

The guard welcomes them into the harbor and brings them to one of the offices there.

Not long after that, they are greeted by a soldier from the old earth, wearing the same uniform from the safe zone where Amy was in.

The soldiers inform them that they welcome any people from the old earth and take refugees on Avalon.

With the help of the adventurers of Avalon and the technology of the people from the old earth, Avalon has become a very safe haven for them to work together and prosper.

"There are still people trying to revert the world to how it was before by hunting monsters, but some have fully embraced the current world and decided to start from ground zero again." Explained the guard.

After they talked a little, Zaine, Amy, and Albus got invited to roam around the harbor before teleporting to the main Avalon island.

Before going to Avalon, they decide to sightsee for a while.

The harbor is full of people, a market filled with people buying and selling goods gathered from their adventures, groups of people assembling to go out adventuring, fisherman fishing, and many more activities there.

After absorbing the atmosphere, they decided to go into the teleporters hall, where a receptionist could be seen working.

"Hello, can we teleport to the main island?" Ask Amy with a smile on her face.

"You must be the new people. Welcome to Alavon. Because it's your first time, we won't charge you for the teleport. Please follow me."

The receptionist led them into a room and instructed them to go up to a pedestal. Suddenly a ray of yellow light engulfed them, making their sight blurry.

As their sight begins clearing up, they see they aren't in the same place. Everything about it is different. As they looked around the room, a person came inside, greeting them.

"Welcome, travelers! To Alavon."

The man greeted them with a warm smile on his face. They are guided onto the main teleporting hall before they are free to leave the place.

Zaine opens the door to the outside. Bright sunlight shines through the door.

They could hear the bustling place outside, where people of all kinds roam the city.

They could see a castle towering up in the sky on the mountains, a majestic castle with people guarding it.

There are also horses and motorcycles traveling around the place, a weird sight but a great combination of fantasy and technology.

They enjoy the view of a place where people can enjoy their lives far from danger.

They continue to explore Avalon, taking turns and corners, finding new and never to be seen architecture and the diverse culture there.

Over the past weeks, people from the old earth have migrated and tried their best to adapt to the current world situation.

Throughout Zaine's journey on the Avalon, he has been impressed many times by the beauty and the atmosphere of the place.

A new page has been started. Zaine, Amy, and Albus will soon begin their lifelong journey.
