Battling a God

Even though Nola is carrying Zeph on her head, she is speeding through the forest with ease. Her movements are quick and precise. Zeph on the other hand is completely enjoying the ride. His eyes were relishing each passing scenes, able to see the natural wonders of the bloated forest. His worries of fighting Enel gradually disappeared as he immersed himself with the environment.

After a while, Zeph gently felt Nola stopping in her tracks but he could see that the Giant Jack was still a few minutes away. He wondered why Nola stopped and was about to ask when he heard a low sounding snarl within their surroundings. Zeph spread his Observation Haki and found six auras hidden in the bushes and trees. Zeph jumped off Nola's head and landed on the ground, brushing away the dust on his clothes.

*Snarl*

Seeing that Zeph and Nola have stopped in their tracks, the six creatures that Zeph had spotted jumped out of their hiding spot. Six white wolves appeared and glared at them with hostility.

"Rankyaku!"

Zeph kicked his leg, launching a wind blade at the wolves knocking three of them out. The rest of the wolves wanted to run away after seeing the demise of the other wolves but they were too late. Nola whipped her tail at extreme speed and lashed at the wolves, throwing the wailing wolves far away into the bushes.

"Now that's out of the way! Let's goo, Nola!" said Zeph, jumping on top of Nola's head.

*Hisssss* Nola slithered past the wolves towards Giant Jack.

-After a few minutes-

Nola and Zeph stopped before the gigantic green beanstalk. He could see the fallen ruins of Shandora in piles of rubble surrounding the beanstalk.

Zeph landed on the ground and took a deep breath to prepare for the upcoming fight. He took off the sack on his back and tied it around Nola's neck.

"Nola, keep the sack safe for me and stay here. I'll be back soon" said Zeph

*Hiss*

Looking up, he could see that Giant Jack was very huge. Rummaging through his pocket, he got hold of Gan Fall's whistle.

'I'll have to keep this safe and use it when things go awry in my fight with Enel.' thought Zeph.

"Time to go face God! Geppo!"

Using Geppo, he jumped up along Giant Jack. He could see many island clouds gathering around Giant Jack. While jumping up, he could see one island cloud that is different from the rest. It is larger than the other island clouds and Giant Jack is piercing through it. Zeph smiled and quickly bolted towards the island cloud.

After a few seconds, he finally landed on the island cloud. Looking straight, he could see a giant gate in front of him linked with the wall.

Walking ahead, Zeph reached near the gate. He was thinking of blasting the gate into pieces but before he could do that, it opened. An old Skypiean with unkempt beard came into view. He is one of Enel's advisor.

"God wants to meet you, blue sea dweller!" said the advisor.

"Lead the way." smiled Zeph.

Following the advisor, he walked into God's Shrine. After a while, the advisor stopped and went away into another room. Ahead of him, Zeph could see a luxurious drape covering the entrance of the shrine.

"I've been waiting for you, blue sea dweller."

The drapes slowly opened and light shined out brilliantly. Zeph could see a man lying on a soft couch with long earlobes and large, gray ring attached to his shoulder blades. Attached to the ring are 4 cream colored shime-daiko drums placed next to and above his head. Each drum is seen depicting a black-coloured tomoe on the front and back.

"Nice to meet you, Enel" smiled Zeph sarcastically.

"My priests have failed their mission to capture you, I'll have to deal with them later!" said Enel, sounding bored oblivious to Zeph's sarcasm. Without waiting for Zeph to reply, Enel stared at Zeph for a minute and continued,

"I can overlook your actions but you'll have to join my army. What is your response, blue sea dweller?" asked Enel with a smirk.

"How about a no!" answered Zeph.

"Yahahaha, How insolent!" Enel laughed, raising an eyebrow in amusement, "But I expected that from you. Let me ask, Why have you come here?"

"To take down God!" said Zeph with a serious countenance staring at God.

"Are you implying that you're a match for me? Yahahaha! How about this, I'll give you five minutes to attack me...", Enel cracked a smile, "...and I won't make a single move against you!"

This made Zeph laugh loudly and Enel was puzzled by his reaction, and got annoyed.

"Are you sure about that?" asked Zeph while trying to stifle his laughter.

"When has God ever taken back his words. " glowered Enel. Enel stood up, lightning cracked in the air, and teleported in front of Zeph.

"After five minutes, you'll face God's punishment." confidently said Enel.

Zeph charged at Enel while Enel just stood still smiling.

"Hardening"

Reaching in front of Enel, Zeph pulled his arm back and coated it with hardening before punching Enel in the chest. Enel thought that the attack would just phase through his body as usual. Zeph's fist connected and hit his chest, sending Enel crashing into the shrine destroying it. Amidst the cloud of dust, Enel stood up with an astonished face, eyes popping out and a wide gaping mouth.

Enel thought he would be fine until the black coated fist solidified his body making him unable to phase through his attacks.

"H-How?" demanded Enel.

"It's a secret!" smirked Zeph.

Enel narrowed his eyes and forgot about the five minute handicap that he offered to Zeph. Enel raised his hands and charged up lightning in his arms.

"W-Wait, What happened to the five minutes?" asked Zeph in disbelief as he didn't think Enel forgot about it. Enel just ignored him and attacked him.

"Kiten!"

A giant wolf-shaped blast of lightning shot towards Zeph. Zeph seeing the lightning blast approaching him, he punched out with his hardened fist and dispersed the lightning. Although, it had stung a bit when Zeph dispersed it.

Without wasting a moment, Enel conjured and let loose a Thunder Bird shaped lightning blast. Zeph not wanting to exhaust himself, used Soru and dodged the Thunder Bird.

Surprised that his attack had missed its target, Enel called out, "Hino!!" sending two huge Thunder Birds at Zeph. Without stopping, Enel roared, "Julungul!" projecting a powerful dragon shaped blast of lightning at Zeph right behind the Thunder Birds.

"Hardening! Rankyaku!" shouted Zeph with a grim face coating his leg with haki, Zeph kicked in a wide arc, launching a powerful wind blade at the two Thunder Birds.

The wind blade hit the Thunder Birds and cut them in half before overpowering them. The wind blade launched forwards and met with the powerful Thunder Dragon. The Thunder Dragon collided with the wind blade head-on and negated the attack, thundering towards Zeph.

Zeph seeing that the wind blade little to no damage to the Thunder Dragon, coated both his fists with Hardening and punched forwards. The fists met the Thunder Dragon and Zeph could feel his muscles tensing before they started to sting. Pushing his fists ahead, he eventually overpowered the Thunder Dragon and dispersed it.

"Soru", Zeph immediately used Soru and appeared above Enel. Zeph yelled, "Twin Rankyaku!!" sending two powerful and sharp wind blades in quick succession.

The Twin Rankyaku propelled itself with immense speed at Enel. Enel seeing the attack, responded with another huge ferocious Thunder Dragon. The Twin Rankyaku overpowered the lightning, advancing through Enel's attack and striking the God on it's chest.

Two wounds appeared on his chest, blood flowing out from the open wound. Enel gasped in pain and felt fear for the first time in a long time.

"Stop pretending to be a god, you're not a God!" said Zeph, rubbing his arms to ease the stinging pain.

"I AM GOD!!" furiously roared Enel. "I will destroy Skypiea and go to the Holy Land. No one can stop me!"

"Gloam Paddling!" muttered Enel before using his lightning powers to melt his golden staff into a trident. Infusing the electricity into the golden trident, Enel transformed into a lightning bolt and teleported at a breakneck speed in front of Zeph while stabbing the trident at Zeph's torso.

Zeph responded by defending the attack with his two hardened infused arms. He kicked his leg aimed at the open wound but Enel noticed it and moved the end of the trident to block the kick.

"Geppo!" shouted Zeph before reappearing airborne above Enel. He quickly used Soru and shot forwards five Rankyakus in succession from all sides, attacking towards Enel.

"Lightning Flash!!!"

Enel unleashed a massive charge of lightning from his hands creating a wide blast that ravaged the surrounding area effectively neutralizing the Rankyakus.

'Shit!' thought Zeph. 'He is powerful!'

"It seems like you'll not give up! Time to show you the true power of GOD, Insolent Mortal!!" said Enel in an arrogant tone.

Enel spread his arms and started channeling insane amount of electricity in his body. His body expanded into a giant thunder God lookalike made of pure electricity.

"Max 200,000,000 Volt: AMARU!!" shouted Enel.

Zeph wore a heavy face. He could feel the pressure and danger exuding from Enel's transformation.

'How am I supposed to fight him like that?!' grimly exclaimed in his mind.

"Those who oppose God will be eradicated!"

Enel with his arms up and palms facing the enemy, shot out multiple lightning blasts. Zeph used Soru and dodged the lightning blasts. He is starting to feeling the strain of using Armament: Hardening for a prolonged period of time. So, he has to use it sparingly.

Seeing that his attacks are not doing anything, Enel instantly vanished from his place and got hold of Zeph in his grasp. Zeph couldn't do anything as Enel's speed in his current form is vastly superior to his own.

Zeph is struggling to get out from his grasp but to no avail.

"Yahahaha! How do you feel, puny mortal?" jeered Enel.

Zeph kept silent and was busy thinking how to get out. He clocked and thought of the whistle in his pocket. He must find a way to blow it.

"Yahahahaha! Surely you realized, how insignificant you are." mocked Enel. He continued, "Well then, DIE!".

"200,000,000 Volt: Vari" slowly stated Enel, unleashing a terrible amount of lightning in his hand where Zeph lay before letting go.

"ARGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" Zeph screamed in agony as he could feel his body charring, he instinctively used Hardening and tried to negate as much of the lightning as possible but the power was too much for him to deal with it. Enel let go of Zeph, and started plummeting downwards along Giant Jack.

Zeph's whole body is wracking with pain and he could barely lift a finger without feeling an agonizing pain coursing through his body. 'Now is the time!' painfully thought Zeph. He excruciatingly moved his hands into his pockets and took the whistle out and blew into it. He let go of the whistle and was threatening to feel unconscious from that small movement. He realized that he was falling from a great height and hoped nothing would happen to him.

Down below on the ground, Nola was lazily slithering around the beanstalk. Suddenly, she could hear the sound of someone falling and looked up. She saw that it is Zeph and was quickly alarmed. Waiting for Zeph to reach a certain height, Nola quickly propelled herself towards Zeph and caught him in the mouth before landing safely on the ground. Nola gently lay Zeph on the ground.

"Thank you, Nola!" Zeph weakly smiled before grunting in pain.

"Yahaha! Did you think you were safe?" Enel spoke up with difficulty as he appeared a few metres away from them in his normal form. He is feeling exhausted and the injuries were interfering with his actions.

"I knew you didn't die. I could feel your aura albeit it was weak."

Zeph was alarmed and knew he couldn't do anything in his current state. He just hoped Gan Fall would come in time.

Nora attacked seeing Enel as she marked him an intruder. Enel seeing the giant snake go after him got annoyed and launched a Thunder Bird at Nola. Nola couldn't dodge in time and was blasted back into a tree. Enel looked over to Zeph and smiled deviously.

"Perish, mortal!"

Enel raised his hands and roared, "EL-"
