New Wardrobe

"So! Mr. Quirrell. What Dumbledore forgot to tell you, is that you will be my male fifth year prefect next year!" Seeing as Quinn's eyes lit up at the news, he kept going. "I always thought you were destined for more back in the day. That's why I made you prefect then, so that's why I'll make you prefect again. I believe you'll grow with the responsibility. Years as a teacher SHOULD help in that regard, I'm sure." The three shared a chuckle and Queenie kissed Quinn's cheek. "My boy is going to be the first person to be chosen as a prefect twice! Even my Father would be proud, and he wasn't easy to please."

Quinn gave his mother a sideways hug as they walked. Flitwick didn't have to describe his prefect tasks, but decided to tell him a bit about some of his fellow claws on the way to Hogsmeade. "If you want to find out more about your classmates and others there are two I'd recommend you talk with often. Scarlett Cairns and Penelope Clearwater. Ms. Cairns will be the other prefect for the fifth years, but she doesn't know you at all so I think you should probably find her on the train. Get to know her personally, make up some excuse as to why. And then we got to Ms. Clearwater. She will most likely make head girl in her seventh year, I can tell you that much. An exemplary student in most ways, truly. What she lacks however, is that extra spark which makes sure she makes it out there.."

Quinn knew what he was talking about. She could be an excellent student but not have the ambition or drive to make it out in the real world. She needs more than grades. She needs friends, connections and a life outside of school. Flitwick looked up to him. "I know you're no longer a teacher, but perhaps you could teach her a thing or two..It's no secret that you struggled with many of the same things, even if your own problems were larger." After that, bordering on insult, they got to a clothes shop and Flitwick proclaimed. "Get him eight sets of clothes, three sets of school robes with the Ravenclaw signet on them and one set for special occasions. Maybe a couple of matching shoes would be nice as well.."

Quinn tried to stop him, until he said his final words "it's on my tab. Send the bill to the castle later." At that, Queenie knelt down and wrapped the little man in a tight hug which he apparently wasn't prepared for. "It's nothing Mrs. Quirrell. Truly. If your boy takes care of the potential I once saw, I'll be making the world a service by helping him." Quinn was teary eyed as a tape measure took his measurements.

"Make sure to give me a bit of room to grow. I intend to put on some muscle this year." The man taking the measurements nodded in approval. "As you should. Some muscles would do you well, perhaps fix that posture as well and you might just impress some ladies in there..or boys if that's what you like." He shook his head at the last bit and the man went to the back to get a variety of materials for him to choose from.

The man working here was a very stylish man, of course he'd have to be to be working in that business. But he had a surprisingly rough look to him. He wore clothes that perfectly showed off a figure he worked hard on. His hair was long and blonde. His eyes were rather grave though, which made him seem out of place as a tailor but Quinn didn't question it.

"Any preference on colour?" Quinn thought about it. Usually he wore very dull and bland clothes, except when he wanted to show himself off. Like when he went hunting for Voldemort in lilac, ruby and bronze clothes. He had always liked those three and they fit him very well. At least he thought so, he just couldn't pull off the striking colours since he didn't have the confidence. Well no more! From now on he'd show himself off at all times.

"I've always liked the look of lilac and ruby. Maybe a bit of bronze to show Ravenclaw pride, you know? Throw in some fern as well. Black is preferable to white as a complementary colour by the way." The tailor wrote it all down and seemed pleased with what was said. "Good choices. I was afraid I'd have another boring customer with beige and grey clothes.."

He spared a glance at Flitwick who looked a bit embarrassed as he wore exactly those colours today. The tailor quickly looked back to his customer "Well how much time do I have before you leave town for the day? I don't have any other customers right now so I could get right to it.." Quinn quickly answered "About an hour and a half. If you get done by then I'd be very happy!"

The tailor was not very pleased with that and walked away mumbling about "Stupid boy thinks it's easy to make clothes. Stupid boy thinks he can just ask me to make them in an hour and a half." And then he shouted out. "Be back in an hour. I'll make any decisions regarding materials on my own, we don't have time to be hesitating!"

Guessing that was that, they exited the shop. They went around to different stores just checking if there was more he needed. The books for school would be bought after he came back so there wasn't much he needed at that very moment. They went into a wand shop and bought a cheap temporary wand. Bamboo with a core of kneazle hair was the one he got. Bamboo was a special kind of wand wood. It was the weakest one out there, but it also had so little personality that it never rejected anyone. The wand would work for him, but he couldn't wait to replace it.

The following hour they spent in the three broomsticks. Flitwick introduced Quinn to several characters and they all, especially Rosmerta who knew Quirinus quite well, took pity on him. The fact that Quirinus was dead was all over the news, so out of pity, the meal and drinks were on the house. Quinn felt a bit weird about it but didn't complain. He didn't want Flitwick to pay anymore than necessary.

Soon it was time to go back to the tailor. As soon as they entered the shop, a set of clothes were thrown at Quinn. A shout was heard from the back "Put them on and tell me what you think. If they're good I'll be done in 3 minutes. Pick some shoes in the meantime!"

Quinn went to the changing room and was positively surprised. The trousers were just the way he liked them, TIGHT, and the shirt was a bit looser. It was a lilac shirt made of the finest silk he had ever felt with tight black trousers which felt like cotton but somehow was just right. He couldn't understand how it fit so snugly and yet he felt so free in them. He was a bit upset when he covered himself with the Hogwarts cloak, he'd have to do something about that..

"They're perfect mr. Tailor! If the rest are as good, I'll be coming back here over the years. I can promise you that!" As he was buying them anyway, he chose to keep them on and walk over to Flitwick and quickly choose some fitting shoes. Soon the tailor came back with the rest of the clothes with a grin. "Perfect, I'll send a bill to the castle. I hope you'll recommend me to your friends! Too few buy clothes during their Hogsmeade visit."

Quinn bowed to the tailor. "Oh I will! Sorry for the rush, but we best be off. Thanks for it all Mr…?" The Tailor smiled "John Taylor. I actually thought you knew my name" Quinn smiled at how fitting it was when he waved and they ran out after throwing all of the clothes in a trunk they took from Quirinus' old things in the castle. Soon they made their way back to the great hall where they found Albus and Poppy waiting for them.

"Excellent look, my boy!" He was always wearing very striking clothes himself and was pleased to see another man who did. Quinn smiled as he took out a small strand of cloth and used it to tie his hair up in a man bun. "Thank you. I feel it suits me. Better make sure I have a new look now as well, and I've always wanted to wear clothes like this!"

Poppy smiled and walked over with a satchel filled with potions. "Anything you might need is in there. Good luck Qui-...Quinn" She kissed his forehead "I hope you get the life you've always wanted after all this.." He hugged the older lady. She was always a pillar of support for him, especially during the hard years when he didn't see his own mother. "I hope so too, thank you Poppy. For everything through the years. It'll be tough acting like I don't know you later. Maybe I can ask to be a healing apprentice so I have an excuse to be more personal with you!"

The thought was just one that came off the top of his head but he found that he liked it. It appeared Poppy did as well as she momentarily hugged him tighter. "I'd like that." They broke off the hug and Albus extended a piece of rope to the Quirrells. "If you're ready, we shouldn't keep him waiting."

Quinn looked towards his mother and at her nod, they both grabbed the rope and Albus said the activation word "Arizona".
