Obstacle Race

Obstacle Race.

It was the first race in this Sports Festival. All first year classes, totaling 11 classes, will take part in this competition.

The track is the outer circle of the Stadium with a distance of 4 kilometers. And because UA High School is known for its freedom, as long as we stay on the track, we are free to do anything, including free to use Quirk during the race.

The audience cheered and we students were excited. Previously there were some students who might have done this competition.

But Quirk use should have been banned, and now we are free to use it.

As Shinso used to say, this is an opportunity for all of us. A chance to show off our Quirks and powers.

There are General Study Program students who hope to enter the Hero Study Program, and students from the Hero Study Program try their best to be recruited by Top Heroes.

All students will show their best performance so that the end result will be as they expected.

I am also like that, since one of the quests is to win the Sports Festival this time, I will do it to the best of my ability.

Yesterday, I had spread out the SP I got from Daily Quests and Hidden Quests, which got around 129.

Hmmm... Maybe I'll just use this method, don't have to scramble out at the exit of the stadium. Leave it alone, I'll just shut up.

Since the Shadow didn't have a solid form, it would be easy to cut its way through the crowd of students.

"Come on, all of you. Get ready on the spot!" Midnight shouted excitedly for the race to start quickly.

I stood at the very back, separated from class 1-A. Many students stood at the exit, waiting for the competition to start.

"Start!!!" As soon as Midnight started the race, all the students flocked to run with all their might.

When in the exit hall, the students couldn't get out because the size of the hallway wasn't too wide.

I, who was still behind, didn't run too but made a Shadow Bird with a size of 1 meter and flew it.

After that I didn't start running but stayed still, causing confusion among the audience and the Pro Heroes.

"What did the kid do?"

"Is he going to give up?"

"Hey! This is just the first race, don't give up too soon"

"Start running boy!"

Midnight who was on the podium also noticed me and couldn't help asking me too.

"Hey! The competition has started you know, why are you still silent?"

"You'll see, Midnight! It's no fun if I talk about it!" (Hiro)

Midnight who heard me didn't really understand and was still confused. But I remained silent, not wanting to answer.

Meanwhile, the first student to leave the stadium is Todoroki by freezing the road.

With the road frozen, the other participants' feet also froze, not allowing them to walk.

After Todoroki, another class 1-A student also made it out of Todoroki's narrow and icy exit passageway.

After successfully leaving the Stadium, the next obstacle appears, namely the Robot used in the Entrance Examination.

"Look! Suddenly an obstacle confronts the participants! Here comes the first obstacle, Robo Inferno!" Present Mic shouted excitedly in hosting this Sports Festival.

Most of the robots that confront them are 0 Point Robots that are gigantic in size.

The emergence of this robot made many students stop their run, just standing in front of the robot with fear.

Even though the giant robot is facing him, Todoroki doesn't tremble in fear. He displayed his powerful ice powers to instantly defeat the robot.

With Todoroki destroying the giant robot, the audience's reaction was even more lively. Likewise with Present Mic who hosted the event.

"From class 1-A, Todoroki. He was able to get past the robot's obstacles with just one attack! He was the first to escape, it's so unfair!" (Present Mic)

Aizawa, as Present Mic's partner in hosting the event, also commented on Todoroki's extraordinary performance.

"He acts based on logic and strategy"

The robot that was defeated by Todoroki, collapsed and hit Kirishima and Tetsutetsu who were running underneath.

Luckily with their two Quirks, getting hit by scrap metal didn't really affect them that much.

Following Todoroki, the other students started to get past the line of robots. The average front runner is from class 1-A, with experience fighting Villains.

Several Pro Heroes also praised the ability of each student to be able to easily pass through the line of robots.

So far, I've been quiet at the start line, just watching the game on the monitor in the stadium.

The audience who watched me, some threw insults because they thought I had given up since the start of the match.

Present Mic was also surprised and curious, then asked Aizawa who was beside him.

"Hey, Eraser! That kid is from your class, right? Can you explain why he's just quiet?!" (Present Mic)

"As far as I know Kageyama is not a student who gives up easily. He was one of the students who contributed the most to defeating the Villains during the attack on USJ. You better not underestimate him!" (Aizawa)

"Wow, that means that kid is strong right?!! I can't wait what move he will make" (Present Mic)

Past the Robo Inferno obstacle course, the next obstacle is The Fall.

A long ravine with several standing stone pillars connected only by ropes.

For some students this is easy, but what about others. They had to climb the rope slowly, making them waste a lot of time on these obstacles.

After a while many students have successfully passed The Fall's hurdles, with Todoroki being the first.

But that didn't last long, it was seen that Bakugo was flying behind Todoroki using his explosion.

"Getting excited already? Slow Starter huh?" Todoroki said while looking at Bakugo who was getting closer.

Todoroki can't use his Ice on the next obstacle, which is a road full of mines.

With Todoroki being careful in his steps, Bakugo managed to surpass him.

"Bastard, don't declare war on the wrong people!" Bakugo shouted while attacking Todoroki with his blast.

This mine has little effect on Bakugo, as he flies away with the blast.

Todoroki tried to dodge Bakugo's attack, and exchanged attacks with him.

As more and more students arrived at the mine barrier, I felt that the Shadow Bird I had released earlier had already crossed the mine barrier.

Using Shadow Exchange, I switch places with the Shadow Rat that is riding on my Shadow Bird.

Right now, I'm flying with my Shadow Bird, leading this race.

My sudden movement shocked everyone watching, they didn't expect that I was able to get ahead so quickly.

"Excellent! Look at that Eraser Head, your disciple suddenly took the lead. How come?" Present Mic asked Aizawa, expecting an answer that satisfied him.

"... Kageyama's Quirk is a shadow, he can control and create shadows. The transfer just now is one of his abilities, just look at the shadow rat where he was standing earlier!" Aizawa said while pointing at the arena, making Present Mic even more excited.

Likewise with the audience, even those who mocked me earlier. I control my Shadow Bird to quickly reach the finish line.

Behind, I heard Bakugo's angry screams cursing at me and the changing temperature turning cold.

"HOW DARE YOU GET OVER ME SHADOW BASTARD!!!"

But I didn't listen to them, and flew calmly to the finish line, making me the winner of the Obstacle Race.
