RagTag MC

Pyr was awed by the baby in his arms. He and Kayla will be the first kids that will be raised by the club. The thought of being an integral part of their growth scared him. They were men that could kill and destroy people's lives, yet Henry had tasked them with the most important mission of all.

To be the parent of his two kids.

RagTag was not a MC to begin with, even the name they came up with was a joke. They were a group of mercenaries that were hired to deal with the world's most dangerous criminal. Their mission was to retrieve people from places that the government could not. Eradicating all of the tangos that they can kill and making the world safe even for a while.

Pyr and his crew were not humans. They were shifters, beings that can change into animals. They were the stuff that nightmares were made of. For humanity, they were monsters.

They were a mixture of shifters that had no clan. Some of his crew were labeled as rogues, some of them were vanished from their territories, while were often called killers by the people who they grew up with. They cannot blame them; their world was far harsher than the humans, death was the only freedom some of them wanted.

The wolves were the first one to join him, then the cats, the bears, and the rest followed. Before he knew it, he was the leader of a group of different shifters that had an alpha vibe. How they work cohesively, he does not know.

The dragons…they were something that not everyone could understand.

The baby moved in his arms, he was trying hard not to be startled by his littlest movement. Jin was happy. The damn beast was delighted by the turn of events.

They have a mate and kids to care for.

The things that he never wanted as a man, was the opposite of the things his beast wanted.

Caring for another being was something he never wanted to happen. Not again. The deaths of the people in his past were something that he would never forget. It was the kind of stigma that he will forever carry until the day he died. Which was kind of ironic, he was a dragon shifter and his kind were the hardest to kill.

The baby started squirming ~ he really needed to give this little one a name. There should be a nurse nearby, but the moment he picked up the little one, she ran in the other direction. He wasn't even wearing his patch.

He felt her, before he saw her. Her footsteps were light as a feather, and he could barely feel her presence. If she was not her mate, then he would never know that she was on the same floor as him.

Pyr felt proud, even though he abhor the concept of having a mate, he could help but grin. Her eyes sought his, and held. He could see fright and a bit of weariness, then again, who wouldn't be. For a woman who has no memory of her past, she was displaying a boatload of courage.

He saw how her eyes watered when she saw the baby in his arms. He gestured her to come closer so she could look at him. Even when he lowered his arms, Angel still had to tiptoe to look at the baby. She slowly traced the bridge of his nose then the lips. She then examined his fingers making sure that they were complete. A gasp of delight came out of her mouth when he suddenly grabbed her finger.

Wonder was written on her face as she felt how strong his grip was. When she looked up, her red eyes were tearful.

"I am sorry for not saving your mother in time, little one. If I have acted sooner your mother would still be alive," Angel whispered as she looked at the child once more.

"I should be the one apologizing," he replied. "I came too late. Henry, their father, was one of my crew. When he met his mate, he told me that he wanted a life that would enable him to be with his family." He looked at his mate before he asked, "Would you like to hold him?"

She started shaking her head before he had finished his question. He chuckled. Pyr could not blame her, babies were a whole different league than caring for a five-year-old Kayla.

"What will happen to them?" She asked.

He was silent for a moment. It was hard to answer her question, for one, he was not sure that MC life would be good for the kids. Jin however, had started the bond between the kids…and the woman in front of him. As much as he wanted to give them away, he cannot.

"What will happen to me?" she softly asked.

Pyr let out a loud sigh and dropped a kiss on her forehead. The latter stiffen not expecting his action. Even he was baffled at what he had done. If not for the baby he was carrying, he might have been thrown outside.

"The kids will be staying with me, with us. So are you," he looked at her sharply daring her to disagree. "You have no memory. You do not even know your own name. Yes, I have seen you do a Kotegaeshi throw, but it doesn't mean that you have the capability to take care of yourself. Besides, the doctor who looked at you needed to see you once a month. Think of Kayla too." Yes, he was shameless. But what can he do? With Jin processing the bond, being apart from her is not an option. "And yes, you will get your own house. The land we purchased is the size of a small village. There is enough room for you to find your own house."

"What about Kayla? And him?" she asked.

"For now, he will be here for another day. His doctor wants to make sure he is okay. They gave us a private room to stay in." It was one of the perks of being friends with the hospital director. In their case, they are treated as VIP patients. Hence, they do not usually use their status, they are shifters. All they have to do is sleep and their body will be healed…although there were cases that they needed to have their bones broken again because it did not heal properly. "Kayla also needed to stay overnight."

He could not feel but be sad with Kayla's situation. She was just three years old when Henry died. He and the rest of the crew were on a mission in some remote part of the world. He only knew about his death six months ago. The crew almost went to an all out war against the whole nation they served when they found out that Mila and Kayla's village was destroyed. It was plain luck that they were able to intercept this particular shipment.

Her eyes narrowed, speculation was written all over her face. "Are you sure that they will be properly taken care of while they are here?"

"Because I will be staying behind," he explained. "Ven has already called someone to pick up my bike and buy something for the kids. Also, before we return to the base, the three of you will need clothes." Just the thought of shopping made him cringe.

"Shopping? Can we just do it online? Don't get me wrong, I am happy that you will be buying things for me, but I kinda hate shopping." Angel had a similar expression as his.

"How can you be sure that you do not like shopping? You lost your memory, remember?" he asked.

She was silent for a moment before she answered, "I am not sure. The thought of going to a store and buying clothes leaves a sour taste in my mouth."

He saw her shudder. The thing with amnesia is that the mind might not remember, but the body does. He sighed and said, "Still, the kids needed some essentials. I have also asked someone to at least buy you some underwear." He could feel a blush was rising on his cheeks. Talking about underwear with her was making his body respond in the most primal manner.

"Why would I need those?" she asked.

"Do you want to go to the compound with Ven?"

"Heck no!"

"Then you will be staying here with me and the kids. Don't worry, it is a Presidential Suite. You and Kayla will be using the bed." He looked at the empty hallway behind her. The nurse assigned to the floor was still not around. The little guy in his arms was starting to let out a soft mewl of hunger.

She saw what was happening and started to walk away. He was about to call her, but she said that she would be going to the nurse station for assistance. Before Pyr could reply, she had already turned at the next corner.

Pyr could only rock the baby as he looked at the hallway his mate had disappeared to. He shook his head and prayed that he will have enough strength to endure the coming days and months ahead. If there is one thing he learned in his long life, most things happens three times.

Right now, he was waiting for the big whammy to happen.
