"Ahh! I thought I was going to die, thank you so much"
"Yeah, bye."
Denzel walked past her without giving her any attention. He didn't even halt like he saw someone.
"Hey!" She yelled.
"I was talking to you!" She continued, wondering what might have been wrong with him.
"I answered, what else do you want me to say?"
"Nothing..."
As she spoke, Denzel kept on moving and opened the zip of the entrance to the tent. She felt he was just weird.
"At least pay some attention!"
Denzel paused and sighed, he turned back to her.
"Okay. What is it?"
"Cool..." She smiled at him and stretched out her arm towards him, anticipating a handshake from him.
Denzel on the other hand just eyed her hand and ignored it. He decided not to speak with her because he didn't want to have anything to do with her. But since she kept pestering him, he decided to give her some attention.
"Holmes Zoey, from Hilldale."
"Hilldale?" Denzel replied to her, he didn't expect her to be from Hilldale, and at that point, he felt he was not safe. He wondered why someone from Hilldale would even be found at Mountaly.
"Yeah, you could say I am from Hilldale, Is there anything wrong with it?"
"Ohh, No... Nothing." Denzel said, staring at her as she sat on the only stool he had.
"Okay, so what are you doing here?" She asked him, still trying to make herself relaxed on the stool.
"You first, why are you here?" Denzel asked her back, he wanted to make sure she wasn't sent to spy on him.
Denzel had every reason to doubt her. He felt she might have been sent from either the HIB or Leia and after his case with Leia, he chose not to trust anyone. He wondered what she might have needed that she would come all the way from Hilldale to Mountaly.
"I am here for research purposes. What about you?"
"I live here."
"You live here? I don't understand."
"You don't have to, this is where I stay."
She looked somewhat curious and Denzel wondered why, since he had already told her why he was there.
"I could swear I have seen you somewhere at Hilldale, or maybe it's just someone that resembles you."
Denzel didn't reply to her.
"By the way, what's your name?" She asked Denzel again and Denzel gave her no reply. She scowled her face a little.
"You know, you are weird." She said that and she noticed the change in Denzel's reactions and with that, she knew that he didn't like people slandering him. She decided to use that presumption to make him talk.
"I am not weird, I am not just going to tell you my name, you don't need it."
"Why? Being Secretive?" She looked at him with the side of her eyes as she gave an awkward smile and Denzel looked at her, confused.
"Well, when are going to take your leave? I don't think you need anything here, by the way, if you need to research something, you should be able to do that at Hilldale or a city closer to Hilldale, I don't see any reason why you would have to come this far, to Mountaly that has been abandoned ever since I was young."
"You sure do talk a lot, I was actually thinking of setting up my tent here because I intend on staying in this city for three days."
Denzel didn't like that idea, he felt she was going to eventually know him and report him.
'Well, Two years have passed since then, I don't think they should still be stressing themselves with me.' Denzel thought to himself, but he still didn't want to take chances.
"Uhmm, Zoey, I don't think you should be here, it's not safe here in this city. You saw the bear earlier, it would only be advisable to leave now."
Zoey noticed that Denzel was trying to send her away and she wasn't ready to go. She had not gotten what she wanted yet.
"Meeh, I would be here, I mean, you killed a bear and it would be safe for me to stay here with you," Zoey said, shifting her head to the left side, and she took out her cell phone from her bag.
Denzel saw it and he that knew the phone he used was in no way as good as that. It was the latest model of 'Hi-phone'.
"Nice phone there."
"Ohh, thanks, I don't expect you to be interested in stuff like this."
Denzel turned back and walked towards the bear. He carried it and the weight pulled him down, he chose to eat it and since they were two, it would suffice them.
"Do you need a hand?" Zoey said to Denzel, seeing as he struggled to tug the bear along with him.
"No thanks. I don't like the idea of you staying over here with me, but if that's what you want, I won't mind."
Zoey saw Denzel as a weird guy earlier, but the more she stayed with him, she saw a gentle side of him. She looked at him as he threw the bear to the ground. She kept on looking at him as he pulled his shirt and cleaned the sweat on his body. He was muscular, the training he had executed for the past two years shown on his body.
Zoey looked at him and smiled, Denzel was naturally a handsome dude, but his character was always his fault. Now that he had been exercising, he had a manly body with his broad chest and the six-pack he had around his abdomen was visible.
She took out her phone and tapped the camera icon and the camera came up. Denzel was unaware of the way Zoey had been admiring him so he kept on doing his thing without paying any attention to her. She took the shot and blushed.
"What did you just do?" Denzel said and began to frown the moment he heard the sound of the snapshot. He ran to her and snatched the phone from her hand.
"Wha...?"
"Why did you take my picture?" Denzel kept on frowning his face as he looked at Zoey who looked dumbfounded and he just wondered if she was another actress just as Leia was. He thought she took his picture to report him but she just did it only because he had a nice physique.
"I am sorry, I would delete it. I didn't know you dislike it, I am sorry."
"Then that's fine," Denzel said as he threw down her phone to her and she picked it up, wondering why he got that angry.
'Why might have happened to him to hate this?' Zoey thought to herself, she only did it to show it to him but with the way he got angry at her, she was not ready to say anything to him.
Zoey stood up and went to her bag. She started to arrange her tent. Denzel too went to continue what he was doing.
