For That Eternal Light.

(3rd Person POV)

As Sasuke turned to look at the newcomers, his eyes widened as he suddenly remembered something, slapping his head and cursing under his breath as he rose quickly and ran to Karin, grabbing her arm suddenly.

Karin almost squealed as her face went beet red, her mind wandering into wonderland as Sasuke dragged her before Kei.

Suigetsu and Jugo looked at each other questioningly as they both answered each other with a shrug, opting to continue watching the bizarre event in front of their eyes.

Kei looked at Sasuke as he approached and suddenly said something extremely misleading.

"Bite her." – Sasuke said in all seriousness as Kei simply stared at him.

Karin recovered almost immediately as she looked between the handsome individual with long black hair and extremely menacing red eyes, returning to look at Sasuke as she was completely surprised by his actions.

"… Are you okay Sasuke? Did Sakura hit you in the head by any chance?" – Kie asked worriedly as he looked at him.

Suigetsu and Jugo looked at each other once more before understanding the situation. As teammates, they knew about Karin's healing powers… the other individual on the other hand…

"Um… Karin's chakra has powerful healing powers. I believe Sasuke means for you to consume it." – Jugo spoke as he took a few steps forward.

Kei exhaled in relief as he looked at Jugo while smiling warmly.

"Huu… I see, thank you. I thought my brother was getting some strange hobbies during all this time spent pursuing his revenge."

Sasuke looked between the two of them as he blushed from embarrassment, quickly turning his face around.

"Hahaha… In any case, I am completely fine…" – Kei explained as he rose on his feet, bumping his chest with enough force to make the others feel it and keep his smiling face regardless.

"Even so…" – Sasuke insisted as Kei's eyes stared straight into his, a small amount of pressure building up on Sasuke's shoulders.

"I am fine, Sasuke." – Kei said one more time, slowly and clearly, but with a much more commanding tone this time.

As the silence befell the room, Jugo was the one who took the initiative to break it.

"So… Sasuke, am I right to assume this person is the Godaime Hokage?" – he asked as he gestured to Kei.

"Ah, right. This is Kei Uchiha, my older brother as well as the head of both, the Uchiha Clan as well as the Village Hidden in the Leaf. Unless you have been under a rock for the past years you should know a thing or two about him."

Jugo merely nodded while Karin and Suigetsu's fear rose immensely. Few were those who hadn't heard about the feats of Konoha's God of Warfare. Defeating a battalion of hardened shinobi together with a major village's Kage, was not something that shinobi could turn a blind eye to even if they wanted.

The tension was quickly gone as Sasuke's small smile and pride in his brother's accomplishment ensured the fact that this individual wasn't their enemy.

Sadly, among the Taka team, not all were… bright.

"Wait, isn't Sasuke's broth…" – Suigetsu began murmuring as a backhand from Jugo snapped his head sideways as he was approaching.

As Jugo shook his head Kei began speaking.

"Well, it is about time to go back. Come on, it shouldn't take us long to get back in the village, afterward, we'll check on your eyes."

-------------------------

The trip back was uneventful, the anbu I had laying in waiting having retrieved both Naruto and Sakura beforehand. Itachi's body was instead secured within a scroll that I was carrying, making sure to not give any other individual a chance at disturbing it.

Since my mentioning of Sasuke's eyes, numerous curious glances had been going toward him, most curious about what I was talking about, but nobody came forward to try and ask a question.

After a couple of days of traveling, we arrived at Konoha's front gate, the morning sun shining on the village symbol upon the gate.

(A/N: Don't know how accurate I am as I can't really tell its geographical position, East may even be in the opposite direction. Take it with a grain of salt. Or just ignore it, it's just to have more details as per some of your advice. Enjoy the rest.)

Heading straight for the front gate, I felt the steps of each member of Sasuke's team stiffen, including Sasuke himself.

"Is this really okay?" – Sasuke asked me as I continued walking.

I felt the vibrations in the air as the others' eyes also turned to the back of my head as I answered without bothering to look at them.

"Of course, what are they going to do? Fire me?! Hmpf." – I snorted at the mere thought.

Reaching the gate, I was greeted by the two guards who lowered their heads, not bothering to even ask about my company as we strolled right inside, attracting the gazes of many shinobi and villagers, whispers emerging from every corner as we made our way into the Hokage's office, weirdly enough not meeting any noticeable character on the way.

-------------------------

(3rd Person POV)

Whispers spread among the village at the return of the young master of the Uchiha, a title passed onto Sasuke as per Kei's official position as both clan head and Hokage.

"The youngest survivor of the Uchiha clan is back? Didn't he abandon the village?" - A villager asked as another one narrowed his eyes at him.

"He was ambushed by the Snake Sannin shinobi after the attack, didn't you hear about it at the time?"

"But what about the Hokage? Surely he wouldn't let his only surviving family be taken away so easily…" – The person questioned as the other one shook a finger in front of him.

"Of course he wouldn't, but I heard he was still suffering wounds from the attack. Not to mention being in and out of council meetings all day due to the late Hokage's death and Uchiha's clan's lack of any representative. By the time he went back they were already long gone."

"Oh… then does that mean that he finally tracked that traitor down?"

The other villager just shrugged as he shook his head, clearly showing that he had no way to know about it.

At that moment the conversation between the two was broken as another person interfered.

"I heard from some shinobi that both Orochimaru and Itachi Uchiha, the person responsible for the Uchiha massacre, were both hunted down by the Hokage."

Both of the villagers' eyes opened wide as they heard this, not being entirely familiar with Itachi, but still impressed at the power of their Hokkage for hunting down a long-time known traitor as well as the person who annihilated the most powerful clan in Konoha.

As the conversation continued, the third villager soon left, a smile donning his face as he continued to butt in in certain conversations, spreading rumors and shifting the public opinion in a certain direction. Many similar agents moved within Konoha overnight, each of them a servant in noticeable families that made up the civilian council.

--------------------------

Despite Kei's attempt at waiting for someone to interfere in his and Sasuke's day in his office, it was surprisingly a day empty of any such events, Sakura and Naruto having prompted not to come even with Sasuke's arrival in the village.

As the veil of the night covered Konoha, under the Uchiha compound within a secluded room Kei had built for himself right after he became the clan head, Sasuke was lying unconsciously in a stone bed, having eventually agreed to Kei's unceasing demand that he took his Itachi's eyes.

At first, he was completely against it, but Kei eventually convinced him, having to explain carefully and slowly to Sasuke a truth that they both knew to be true, albeit Kei knew about it in much more detail.

The 4th Uchiha clan member, somebody that Kei said he believed to be more powerful than Itachi, somebody that had the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan.

Despite Sasuke's initial disbelief at the aforementioned person, his brother had never been wrong before.

"Someone who has the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan? I don't think I even heard of someone else having the Mangekyou, let alone this next stage of the Sharingan." – Sasuke had said while looking at Kei's back, sitting in the stone-cold operating table.

"And yet I know of someone who has actually achieved it… actually the only person to have the Eternal Mangekyou at this moment. I even know that he was the one who helped Itachi massacre the Uchiha clan."

In that sentence, Sasuke's Mangekyou blared to life as his hand gripped the operating table.

"Who is it?" – He asked with venom in his words, unaware of his "brother's" disturbing smile.

Sasuke paused for a second.

"… He's…" - He continued but only for Kei to continue it for him.

"Dead has been for a long time now. The person in question is someone who has at the very least had the Mangekyou Sharingan for more than a decade and shown no sign of losing his sight. It leads me to believe he is someone who also has the Eternal Mangekyou, only using Madara's name to achieve some kind of objective. Nevertheless, he did slaughter our clan in his way to that objective… meaning he might come back and finish the job? Without the next stage of the Sharingan we might not even have the chance to resist, let alone win… so, what do you say Sasuke?"

A nod was all the answer Kei needed as his smile went feral, completely hidden from Sasuke's view.

"Let us begin then, shall we?"

'For that Eternal light.'
