Ace's pov
After finally deciding to go into dad's office. I knock and I walked in.
" Morning father" I greeted.
" Morning son" he replied.
"Well I called you here for a very important discussion, I have something I need to tell you" he said calmly.
I was wondering why he called me this morning to come home, couldn't he have said what he wants to say on phone.He knows I'm busy handling the company's affair.
" I'm listening Father" I replied.
"Since you've decided not to bring a suitable girl home even though I gave you a year to do that, your mother and I has found some we know that's good enough for you to marry" he said and I was getting angry.
"Father, you know I have someone I'm dating already, I can't cut it off with her because you want me to get married, besides I can't get married to a complete stranger" I replied
" you'll do what I say, if not the company will be handed over to someone else" he said leaving no room for argument.
"No father you can't do that, I'm dating rose and we are pretty much serious" I replied.
" you mean that slut you hang around with,as my daughter in-law, that won't happen, you are going to get married to the girl I've chosen for you and that's final!" He said
" I DON'T WANT TO! She's probably a gold digger" I yelled.
" Stop with your nonsense this instant, I won't condone you calling my friend's daughter a gold digger" he said raising his voice a little.
" ohh your friend's daughter" I laughed harshly
" you'll be meeting her tomorrow, so do away with this attitude of yours" he said calmly.
The fact that he is talking so calmly as if this isn't a big deal is making me go insane, how would he wake up one morning and decide that I get married to someone I've never met before.
Unless this was his plan all along, I think this is the reason he gave me a year to bring back a wife.
"Father I am 25 years old, an adult, I think I'm capable of getting a wife for myself." I said trying to reason with him.
"I've already spoken and the wedding is holding next week" he said as he walked out of his office leaving me in a dumbfounded state.
God, I don't want to get married, I love my life, I have a family to take care of me. what more do I need?
Ofcourse mum and dad are happily married, but that doesn't mean I want to get married now. I'm not ready to add more responsibility to my shoulder, besides I have a company to run.
I can't believe that dad would use the company to threaten me,Take away my birthright? Come on that's insane. All because of a girl, I haven't seen her yet but I despise her already.
"I'm leaving" I told my mum from the living room.
"Won't you eat something before you leave" my mother said.
Ignoring her I walked out, took my car and drove to the office.
According to the news paper I am an arrogant handsome eligible bachelor of the city.
Rolling my eyes at the news, I parked my car and walked into the company.
My assistant Ms Davis walked up to me with a big smile.
I'm least interested in any woman now.i don't want to start my love life now or in my entire life. I think marriage isn't for everyone and it's certainly not for me.
I'm happy with my flings and one night stand, I don't need a nagging lady in my life right now.
"Ms Davis get me the files for today's conference. Finalize my meeting with Mr Festus" I said with a professional tone wiping the smile off her face.
"Would that be all" she purred recovering.
"Uhmm…get me coffee " I added.
"Anything else sir" she says with a flirty smile.
Here she goes again, one of these days I'll fire her but she's competent in her job, that's the only reason she's still here.
"After bringing my coffee and the files, I asked for I need you to get out of my sight" taking my seat, I resumed with the loads of work piled up on my desk.
I wanted to get Mr Festus deal, I focused on the files.
"Sir?" She whispered and left my office after getting no reaction from me.
A few minutes later she came with coffee
"Thank you Ms Davis" I thanked her and continued working.
Now I have to meet her tomorrow
God….this is so annoying!
I'm not interested in getting married.
Is my dad really serious about taking the company away from me,if I don't get married to his friend's daughter?
Or is this a prank?
I don't think my dad can pull such a prank.
This prank is expensive, how can I be getting married next week?
He seems so serious about it, very serious!
I'll go on a date with her tomorrow like my father said.
He said her name is Avery Kingston, I'll make her life a living hell, I'm sure she a gold digger who wants to be a leech, she'll regret agreeing to this.
I'll make sure of it.
"Tomorrow is going to be a crazy day" I sighed.
