Chapter 3: Rules, God Points, and Simulation

Chapter 3:

The two magicians had put all their efforts into casting their spells, but to their surprise, they were all dissolved by a powerful barrier used by the referee. It was evident that the referee was an expert mage, having reached the 'Advanced' level of proficiency.

As the match reached a critical point, the referee's eyes flashed with determination. With a swift motion, he summoned powerful magic and soared up into the air, leaving the ground far below. Beneath him, a massive platform of shimmering energy floated, suspended by mysterious forces. The referee deftly landed on the platform, ready to oversee the game from above. The stadium below echoed with the roar of the crowd as they watched the referee take their place on the hovering platform, eagerly awaiting the next move.

"What are you doing here? This is no place for students below the level of an intermediate mage for this exhibition match at this academy."

"Oh, I'm terribly sorry, sir." Yuki shivered, still marveling at what just happened.

"The fight is postponed for now; it will resume once I walk this student outside the arena."

"Sorry," Yuki bowed in a nervous way.

After a few minutes, he walked outside of the arena platform.

"Are you a student at this academy? Where is your uniform? "

"Oh, I...-I was teleported here by some sort of magical power, and I'm not a mage at this academy."

"Teleported?" The nice referee gave it some thought

Space magic? Or maybe this person had an artifact that activated some kind of teleportation gimmick?

Yuki was quick on the uptake and found the resolution to say a few words.

"Sir, is it okay if I ask a question?"

"What is it?"

"I want to enter this academy, but I don't understand the requirements for entering. I also want to be a full-fledged mage in this academy."

Yuki was smart enough to get the gist of what was going on with only a moments notice at that. This shows his intellect as a character of remarkable courage and cleverness. He was directly able to see a fight between mages and also get the chance to enter this academy by asking for the information he needed.

"Are you not from this city? Do you not know about the yearly entrance exam?"

"No sir," Yuki shook his head from left to right.

"The entrance exams for the Arcadia Magic Academy are held once a year and start in about a month. It also requires a fee of 10 copper coins per entry, if you don't have the money then a show of might and magic should get you by. That's only if one of the instructors recommends you for the exams though."

"Oh, as you've said, I'm not quite around from these parts and have no money. Is there something I can do to make a living here?" Yuki said excitingly, almost having goosebumps from thinking about magic and his plausible stay here.

The referee put his hand on his chin and seemed to be thinking deeply.

"There is a job that's available for work, but that requires you to apply through the senior director of administration in this academy."

"Sir, it would be great to know if you could direct me to where I could apply for the job! I certainly would do anything as long as I am getting a good amount of pay."

The referee didn't know why this kid was so motivated to become a mage, adding on the fact that he wasn't from this city to begin with. In actuality he was quite concerned for the kid since he had no money as well as his poor background.

the referee raised his hand and spoke in a deep, commanding voice, "The lights graced with spirits, oh by my call of the holy, guide thou to the correct path: 'Spiritual Guidance'." As he finished the incantation, a whisper of light formed in front of him, gradually taking shape and growing in size. It resembled a glowing orb, shimmering with an otherworldly radiance.

A whisper of light formed that resembled a glowing orb of light.

This was magic at its finest!

Yuki knew he saw magic being casted when he was in the arena too, but he was still in a state of shock when it all happened. And thus, he could hardly believe his eyes as he watched the glowing orb dance and sway in the air, as if it had a life of its own.

"This will guide you to the administration center, and because of the incantation I used, this spirit should be around for a while. Anyway I hope to see you around kid, take care."

Yuki said his goodbye to the kind and humble referee.

I will remember this, and hopefully, I can make up to this wonderful person for helping me.

Yuki then gathered his thoughts and followed the spirit. It was a long walk so he made sure to double check his 'status' to see if there was anything wrong.

"Status"

[Primordial System]

[Name: Yuki Asura]

[Lifespan: 14 / 42]

[Race: Mortal]

[Cultivation: None]

[Cultivation Potential: Extremely bad]

[Current World: MagicW-214]

"System, is there anything wrong with me? And why does the 'Magic' panel seem to be locked?"

[Nothing is wrong with you]

[However, you are hosting in a new body]

The System had secretly created a new body the instant he had transferred Yuki over to this magic world, but he did not know of it.

"A new body? What the heck does that mean? I feel completely fine System, what are you talking about?"

[These are the following rules I have created for you]

[1. Transfer procedures by and from a host will be taken as a completely different life defined as a simulation.]

[2. Within the simulation, the host will receive a duplicate of the original body's traits and abilities.]

[3. Within the simulation, you are graded and perceived as someone judged by the Primordial System.]

[4. The following grades are judged from: Experience, time, cultivation abilities, equipment, and acts that are significant to the world]

[5. After the simulation is over, the host will return to his original body with none of the same traits, abilities, or equipment he possessed during the simulation.

[6. Once the host dies in the simulation, the simulation will be over, and he will be returned to his original world]

[7. 'God Points' are given by the judgment process of the entirety of the simulations, beginning to end]

[8. The host can purchase the following with 'God Points' : traits, abilities, equipment, powers, and from the System shop.]

[9. Once the host dies permanently, he will be resurrected in 10,000 years.]

[10. Host acquiring a new 'concept' will unlock a new feature of the System and will be added to the unlocked panels]

[Note the following:]

[A 'God Point' is a personal fund that the System uses to purchase items from the shop or simulation status.]

[A 'concept' can be interpreted as a newfound power: magic, magical, awakening powers, and etcetera.]

"That is a lot to take in..." the set of rules completely dumbfounded Yuki.
