Carrying my bag, I followed the leading man to a rock shelter. The open space under the rock formed a natural shelter to prevent people from the wind and the rain, in that place, dozens of people were sitting around a bonfire, preparing their food.
Wow! I've only seen a rockshelter site thousands of years later, time decays all the remains and ancient people's tools, this is the first time I can ever observe a living site. I am so excited!
Identified some shells and seafood that were held by the indigenous women, I am almost certain about the location of this site — nearby a seaside. According to the information on their foodstuffs — standard size and normal categories, and the vegetation here are also similar to my world, I inferred a theory: I am still in an ordinary world.
Thank God, that's a great relief!
Once I was afraid of being in a world with creepy and terrifying creatures like some fancy novels after finding Kruger is a beast-man.
An old lady with a few feathers stuck on her hair stood up from the crowd and walked toward me. She circled around me, then stopped in front of my face and stared into my eyes for an amount of time, carefully watching me like a hawk.
The lady frowned and turned back to the rockshelter, found a red stone and then grasped the stone in her hands. After those motions, she stepped around me in a circle again with some unknown words murmured by her.
Hmmm... What is she doing?
Whereas I can not understand any of her words, the only thing I can do is stand still obediently and let this lady dance like a priest. Those songs and murmurs sounded like spells, I kept silent, watching her movements and taking a peek at other people in this tribe.
That's amazing!
This is such a vivid material for folklore!
Although I didn't specialize in this discipline, my major — anthropology, also involves folk culture. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera with me, and my iPhone has been turned off and stocked in my car.
As an alternative, I decided to record them all in my mind with my eyes.
I might not be able to go back home at all, but it's quite worthwhile for me to have this special experience and undergo a unique ceremony. Maybe, I am the lucky one?
Looking forward to seeing what will happen next, I bowed my head and let the female priest draw some red ore powder on my forehead.
Could it be a welcoming ceremony?
The priest waved her hand before I smiled at her, and the man standing next to her who had been waiting for this process immediately lifted a huge stone with his hands and threw it at me!
WHAT?!
HELP!!!
Why are you attacking me?
I take back all the words and my stupid thoughts before!
Contrasted with my own safety, this exceptional cultural event is nothing!
Didn't others tell me that most aboriginal people have purity and kindness? Why are they so aggressive to me?
And can anybody tell me the reason they are trying to kill me after some mysterious actions???
What the hell is going on now???!!!
Is it some kind of corpse mark that shows I am on a blacklist, waiting for death when that lady paints my forehead?
All these questions are bursting into my mind, but I don't have time to figure out the answers right at this moment. Fortunately, I didn't let the string in my mind loose and have always been vigilant since I met these people.
Reacted quickly, I took a big step back to avoid the stone, then turned around and spread my legs to run as fast as I could — like I was in a hundred meters race.
Thank you, human evolution!
As a grown-up modern female, my height is not much different from those of aboriginal males. Although they look stronger and definitely have more muscles, on the premise of my desperate and crazy sprint, I successfully broke a gap in the crowd circle around me.
Can't take the risk of comparing my knowledge of the surrounding environment to those natives, I just chose a random direction and concentrated on dashing forward.
Thank you, primitive technology!
The aboriginal people haven't invented the boomerang yet at this time, and it seems that they don't use darts to hunt, either — or I would have no chance to escape now.
Didn't even dare to look backward at all, I ran aimlessly for a very long distance, out of breath, and gradually felt the taste of rust every time I inhaled. Prior to the second when I decided to give up, a familiar beast roar showed up, full of anger.
It's Kruger!
He is coming to save me!
The giant monster who is taller than an adult opened his mouth wildly, showing his deadly fangs, growled and rushed to those men who were chasing me before. They ran away immediately after Kruger clawed at them, instead of pursuing those aboriginal males, Kruger rotated his head back to me.
He looked so upset and worried that he couldn't even wait to shift into a human when he was just in the mid-air, so Kruger was naked again. Holding me in his arms, he apologized in a hurry:
"Sorry I am late, LuLu! Are you all right? Did they hurt you?"
I lifted my hands to cover my eyes in case to see anything between his legs again, then shouted at him with a blush:
"Kruger! Wait!"
"The blanket you used before is in my backpack, go and find it!"
"Okay, I know, I know. I am sorry, LuLu..."
Kruger walked behind me, opened my backpack and kept talking with me in a croaky voice:
"But I was too anxious a moment ago, you know. LuLu, nothing can hurt you! I am so, so, sooo sorry again, and now I feel angry about myself."
"I will pay more attention to avoid things like that happening again in the future, both of them. I promise."
I faced round and hugged him, putting my hands on his head:
"It's not your fault, Kruger. You've done your best."
"Thank you for protecting me the second time."
...
We found a place to sit down together, then I took out my water bottle, drank half of the water, and finally recovered.
"I am back to life now!" Putting my head on Kruger's shoulder, I rubbed his neck with my forehead, "By the way, do you know why were they expelling me?"
