Chapter 124: Shock absorber

Chapter 124: Shock absorber

Emily's POV

I ran with the determination of a baby tiger, turning around to make sure the little cat I rescued a week before was behind me. And it was.

"Come on! Vengeance, we are almost there!"

Giving the stray cat the same name as my dead dog was justice…or lunacy since it didn't turn out so well for my dog.

I could feel my lungs burn just a little bit and I knew it wasn't going to get easier any time soon. To be honest, I don't really mind, pushing myself faster and only stopping abruptly briefly to pick up my cat wasn't the worst feeling in the world.

"We must get back home before Papa comes home, Vengeance or he will be mad"

A thin layer of sweat covered the nape of my neck yet I didn't stop.

I could hear Tia yelling my name in a half forceful whisper because yelling it louder would get both of us in trouble.

I could almost see Tia's dancing out of panic and dread.
