My eyesight blurred, but not because tears were welling up. Everything became fuzzy; then I saw nothing at all. My consciousness was floating through an empty space filled with a thick static. Throughout the inky space my heartbeats pounded loudly, echoing in my ears, alongside fading pleas for help.
And from the blankness of the mind, comes the noise from afar, seemingly calling out my name, trying to wake me up. My eyes then twitch, as my consciousness snaps me back to reality. Its slap was extreme, even causing my head to ache. I open my eyes, only to see me inside a room painted in faded colors of gray.
Beside me is a decent bed and a sink, I then look to the front only to see rustic bars and a woman sitting outside. What happened? Why am I... Why am I in prison all of a sudden?
"Luna." The woman with a familiar voice utters. She then stands up and walks closer to my cell.
"What happened?! Why am I here?!" Realizing the woman, I quickly stand up from the floor and cling my hands to the iron bars. With a scowl, I have the urge to escape.
"You're in prison. You should be lucky that you'll be fed three times a day." Jenny smirks, seemingly uttering in sarcasm.
"Where is Mewtwo?!" I query.
"Mewtwo? It's back at its habitat, wherever that is. Anyways, you are a lot of things but not an idiot. Seriously? Punching the most powerful Pokemon in the world?" Jenny says as she lets out a sigh.
"Release me. I don't belong here."
"You should be greatful. If I haven't arrived early then you would be nothing but mere ashes."
"W... wait, what happened back then?" My voice cools.
"Mewtwo was about to turn you to dust, however I was able to save your life."
"Save... me? I thought we, we were enemies?" I query. I also cool down a bit, and remove my hands from the iron bars.
"Look, you may have killed the headmaster, we may fight, but I can't let you be my enemy since I don't want to lose the only friend I have. Don't worry, you're only here for ten years. Once that's done? You'll realize your mistake." With a smile on her face, Jenny utters, leaving me speechless.
"About Team Rocket? What happened to them?" I question in a soft tone, looking down to checkered tiles of white and black.
"Team Rocket? They disbanded. As for Giovanni? The Pokemon Police Department is on the look out for him." Jenny replies.
"No! You're lying. Team Rocket is not a coward. Giovanni will return to save us all." My voice surges, doubting Jenny's words.
"Woah, you still believe in Giovanni? He left you Luna. He left his own organization and yet you believe in his words? You believe he will return?"
"Of course. He told me. Giovanni is man of many things, a liar is not one of them. He will return, he will return!" Doubting her words, I shout, not believing everything Jenny told me.
"Luna, can you tone down your voice? Look, where will he get his so-called army of evil beings? He's a coward, accept it. He has influenced you, therefore when we find him? I'll force him to spit out the truth to your face." With a sudden rage to Giovanni, Jenny's voice inclines.
Hearing her words, I still ceased to believe. I then ignore her, sitting down on my decent bed while looking at the checkered floorings. How I wonder, could she be right? Could everything I believed in be lies?
"No more running. Team Rocket's destiny is ruined with no opportunity to rise."
"Team Rocket's destiny was to bring salvation to the world with the power of Mewtwo." I murmur, shedding a tear in the process. I have ended up as a prisoner, one thing I didn't ought to be.
"Team Rocket will never achieve its destiny."
"Dread it. Run from it. Destiny still arrives. Team Rocket will rise." I tilt to her, mumbling my words.
"Fine. Anyways, you will be interrogated by our chief. He wants to ask you a few questions."
"A few questions? What for? Now you want me to become a member of the Pokemon Police Department?" I chuckle sarcastically.
"I never said that. Anyways, he's waiting downstairs, therefore be prepared." Jenny sighs, and leaves me in my cell. She then walks down, to see how things are doing with their so-called chief.
Patiently, I wait in the corner of my cell. Wondering about the remains of Team Rocket. Am... Am, I to believe the words of the man who wanted to bring salvation to the world? Or is Jenny correct, was this all a lie that neither I, couldn't accept. For now, I remain as a prisoner of the Pokemon Police Department. Ten years? That seems like a long time to me.
