What ? A bodyguard ? I don't need a bodyguard !

Gabriel plopped down on the chair, right next to that of his friend Callum, offended. He , an alpha wolf shifter , a prince -well , a future prince - , didn't need a bodyguard . It was an insult to himself , his wolf and his strenght , but his father retorted :

- Yes , you do , Gabriel Daine . I asked the best one , and I got her , You should ...

- Because its a HER ?

Lysander smiled , amused by his son 's reaction :

- Yes , and I am sure that you remember HER . She's Cara and Stem Black's daughter , Maeve . You played with her when her parents were my and your mother's bodyguards !

Gabriel's eyes widened :

- The - the kitty ? The kitty 's gonna be my bodyguard ? No way .

Visibly , it was "yes way " since Gabriel , Callum and Bastian , another friends of his highness' friends , ended sneaking up into a party throwed by the sentries for their youngest recrues ' graduation to meet Maeve . They'd had no problem to fit into crowd , since that if the guys knew something , it was about how to party . Gabriel was scanning the place , looking for someone with blak hair and purple eyes , the only thing he remembered of his bodyguard - to - be . abandoning the idea of finding her by himself, he approached the swimming pool and asked:

- Hey , by any means , do you know ... Maeve Black ?

One of the girls in the pool , a mermaid with green hair , blue skin and purple tail , smiled broadly , clearly charmed by Gabe's looks :

- Oh you're talking about Poison Black ? You're right on time , here she comes .

His gaze followed the mermaid 's finger , which was poiting to the entry and his jaw almost dropped at the sike of Maeve . Arm in arm with a beautiful vampire girl and laughing with a sorcerer , she was definetely not a kitty anymore . Tall , slim with exactly what it needs of curves , pale skin , piercing amethyst eyes , long straight hair , so black that it flashed blue reflections , she was absolutely stunning . The panther shifter 's eyes locked with his , and he felt shivers going down his spine . Callum and Bastian , nearly drooling next to him seemed to be feeling the same thing . Bastian muttered :

- Well if you don't want her , I would want her to ... guard my body , veryyyyy close , if you know what I mean . . .

Callum giggled :

- Same , buddy , Same .

Gabriel didn't knew what to think of her . She looked like a model , not a soldier . But , when she started walking his way , he begun to understand why she was a sentry .

Maeve didn't , couldn't wanted to believe he was that stupid . It was incredibly dangerous to come to a sentry event without being invited , and yet the idiot was there . So she joined him and his friends , snapping :

- What the fuck are you doing here , Gabriel ?

He had the nerve to smile at her :

- Hello , kitty , long time no see .

She grit her teeth : gods she was going to be stuck with that stupid prince for the next MONTHS ?!

- In the name of Solis , Gabriel , what are you doing here ?

If he kept smiling that way , it was against her that he would need protection .

- I wanted to see my lovely bodyguard , why ? Is it forbidden , Kitty ?

She took a deep breath , fighting to not shift and show him that the " Kitty " had big claws and fangs , then smile brightly , which seems to scares the boys .

- No , its not forbidden . So as you're here , let's party !

She led them to the dance floor , where she unleashed herself : she danced , clinging onto everybody , moving sensually , laughing her heart out . The guys had a hard time following her rythm as she was so full of energy , so ... So much . At some times , her body ended up against Grabriel's and they moved together , He was literally mesmerized by her , by the way her body moved , by the way her eyes glowed , the way her hair softly brushed his skin . eventually , they kissed , and he thought that it maybe was how heaven felt . Sudenly , she took off her lips from him and started dancing with somoene else . The young man stayed there , frozen and with the feeling of choc . bringing his hand to his lips , he felt as if she was indeed a poison , intoxicating and addictive .
