Plundering Across the Cosmos

*Upload speed is unspecified, I will upload whenever I have free time.* *DISCLAIMER* This is NOT my original novel. I found it on an MTL website and found it fun and interesting so I decided to go down the rabbit hole and edit it with proper English (to the best of my abilities) so that others could enjoy it too. I changed the names for a lot of things, rewrote many others, and tried to make this story read as fluently as possible. If I'm being honest, the whole novel may have been exciting in its original language, but it isn't in English. So like I said before, I'm pretty much rewriting this novel to my liking, still following the original plot and story, but adding A LOT to it. So it technically is a fanfic ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. If you guys want to go read the original MTL, its original author was "banana too dog" under the original title of "I Plunder Endlessly In the Interstellar Age" *END OF DISCLAIMER* In the interstellar era, gangs and predators run rampant across the galaxy. Ajax, a skilled artisan crafting energy blocks, finds himself at the bottom of society, subjected to relentless bullying. He plunges into the shadows to ensure his survival, ultimately joining a notorious gang. Ajax stumbles upon a remarkable discovery along his journey – a super warship capable of upgrading limitlessly, given the availability of resources. With this newfound power, he establishes the infamous bandit gang "Reapers." This marks the beginning of an era characterized by endless plundering and ruthless exploits.

Chapter 27

The current location of Lazoole Society camp, where all the operators and their families, totaling about 3,000 people, reside was a place of utmost importance. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, it was a virtually impenetrable fortress. The only side that wasn't fortified by nature was fortified with barbed wire fences, sentry towers, and personnel that were constantly patrolling making it a fortress that could fend off attacks with ease.

The camp was well-organized and was comprised of residential, training, trading, and canteen areas. Ajax was quite pleased with the environment, finding it much better than the buffer zone he had initially encountered.

As they chatted, they reached the residential area. The space assigned to Ajax by Bomen was an independent 1-floor house spanning about 70 square meters, fully furnished. The yard had a parking space and there was a tool room where mechs could be stored, aligning perfectly with Ajax's needs.

"So, is there anything else I can assist you with?" Monkey, who had parked the garbage truck, approached Ajax.

"Not I'm good, thank you for guiding me here," Ajax replied, maintaining his friendly demeanor.

"Alright, then I'll be heading out," Monkey said while nodding, ready to leave.

"By the way, who's the twat that was following Bomen? Is he a camp manager or an elite operator?" Ajax asked casually.

"Oh him, he's neither. His name is Alex. He's Boss's cousin, joined two years ago due to gambling debts. He handles our comms and errands for the Boss but he tends to overstep his authority. I've seen the Boss berating him in public several times already," Monkey shared some light on the twat.

"I see," Ajax nods thoughtfully, noting Alex as another potential headache.

After Monkey left, the surroundings fell silent, and the activities in the camp had died down. It was already nine o'clock at night and despite not having slept for the past two days, Ajax remained in a state of high alert. Although tired, he couldn't sleep; there were issues from today's first battle in the Warlock-Level mech that needed urgent attention.

Several parts needed repair for full durability, and there was a lack of weapons and accessories which hindered the mech's power. Determined to address these problems, Ajax spent the next three hours transferring the contents of the garbage truck into the tool room.

The items sourced from the repair shop warehouse were 118 blue energy blocks, green and white energy blocks, about 300 of each, and second-hand Central Intelligence (CI) systems from three Knight-Level mechs. It consisted of two second-hand beam rifles and two battery-charged rifles as its main weapons, along with various secondary weapons, coated accessories, auxiliary accessories, armor accessories, and core accessories.

After organizing everything and preparing to repair his mech, Ajax took off his shirt to work. Though he had a rough life and could barely afford to eat two meals a day, Ajax was quite fit, his sweaty muscles glistened under the lights. His muscles weren't anything crazy like someone who had been working out his whole life, these were muscles that were shaped from working with heavy parts. He grabbed his cutting and electric welding tools and got to work.

He completed the repairs after three hours, achieving 98% durability after a self-test.

The next focus was on weapons and accessories. Considering the Bezerker-type mech's emphasis on movement, Ajax opted for a beam rifle as its main weapon due to its lightweight and manageable energy consumption. For secondary weapons, he selected an M61 Vulcan that would be on the back of the mech's neck, being able to shoot over the mech's head, and a shoulder cannon, both consuming green energy blocks.

The accessories, crucial to Ajax's strategy, included composite fibers for coating, back thrusters for more movement, superalloy armor for additional durability, and hydraulic joints for improved mech sensitivity. Bullet accessories, including reinforced single-shot bullets, were also installed.

Surveying his newly upgraded Warlock-Level mech, Ajax felt a sense of accomplishment, even if perfection was still a distant goal. He sat and contemplated testing the new firepower that his newly enhanced mech would possess.
