Plundering Across the Cosmos

*Upload speed is unspecified, I will upload whenever I have free time.* *DISCLAIMER* This is NOT my original novel. I found it on an MTL website and found it fun and interesting so I decided to go down the rabbit hole and edit it with proper English (to the best of my abilities) so that others could enjoy it too. I changed the names for a lot of things, rewrote many others, and tried to make this story read as fluently as possible. If I'm being honest, the whole novel may have been exciting in its original language, but it isn't in English. So like I said before, I'm pretty much rewriting this novel to my liking, still following the original plot and story, but adding A LOT to it. So it technically is a fanfic ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. If you guys want to go read the original MTL, its original author was "banana too dog" under the original title of "I Plunder Endlessly In the Interstellar Age" *END OF DISCLAIMER* In the interstellar era, gangs and predators run rampant across the galaxy. Ajax, a skilled artisan crafting energy blocks, finds himself at the bottom of society, subjected to relentless bullying. He plunges into the shadows to ensure his survival, ultimately joining a notorious gang. Ajax stumbles upon a remarkable discovery along his journey – a super warship capable of upgrading limitlessly, given the availability of resources. With this newfound power, he establishes the infamous bandit gang "Reapers." This marks the beginning of an era characterized by endless plundering and ruthless exploits.

Chapter 26

Bomen thought that it would be great if eddies and a position of power could be used to give Ajax a sense of belonging and make him join them. Unexpectedly, Ajax actually reduced his generous offer by about 90%, leaving Boman stumped.

The long-haired young man next to him was also full of disbelief. Does there exist a man who believes in the concept of having too much money?

"Ar-are you sure? You want to change your benefits to just this?" Bomen frowned slightly.

"Yeah, besides, I will only take orders directly from you. I won't listen to anyone else's orders. You also can't stop me from leaving the day I decide it's time to move. If you agree to my conditions, I will be more than happy to join." Ajax nodded as he outlined his conditions.

This is the reason why he took the risk to save Bomen, it was so that he could set his own conditions.

"Yeah I see no issues with your conditions, I'll agree to them all, hahaha." Bowen smiled boldly and lit another cigar.

At the same time, he secretly felt bad for the kid in front of him who had probably never seen much of the world, and he actually gave up 20,000 eddies a month in exchange for the energy of some mech.

Bomen was also a pilot who had several Parallax-level mechs of his own and knew the price of energy blocks.

A set of blue energy blocks can fuel a mech and allow it to fight for a whole day, and it wasn't like they were fighting every day. It wasn't like this mech would use up too many eddies a month.

However, Bomen, who was grinning in his heart at the moment, didn't know that Ajax was piloting a Warlock-Level mech that used up 12 purple energy blocks to refuel every time. The market price of a set of purple energy blocks was 36,000 eddies. Who knows how many sets would be consumed in a month, but one thing was for sure, it would definitely be much more than the measly fixed salary of 20,000 eddies.

Bomen would grow to regret the reckless decision he had just made...

"Alright, then I'll join you guys," Ajax said with a smile plastered on his face.

"Welcome to join our Lazoole Society. From now on, you and I will be like brothers. You can call me Bomen, I'm the founder and leader of Lazoole Society." Bomen walked up to Ajax and held out his hand.

"Thank you, I'm Ajax." Ajax also stretched out his hand for a handshake, relieved that he finally found a place to stay.

"Ajax..." Bomen muttered in a low voice; he felt like he had heard this name somewhere.

At this time, the long-haired young man next to him looked at Bomen and showed him his Vox: "Boss, he's the one who is wanted for attempting to kill an heir of the Ashlin Group. They are looking for him everywhere. If people from the Ashlin Group come knocking, we..."

Although he didn't finish his sentence, everyone knew what he intended to say. Did they really want to go up against the Ashlin Group for Ajax?

"Oh?" Bomen looked down at the Vox; no wonder it looked familiar, he turned out to be the man who had been all over the news recently.

Ajax's heart skipped a beat as he felt like he fucked up. He would have used a pseudonym.

Wouldn't he not be allowed to join because of his previous actions? And what's up with this long-haired twat? He seems to be targeting him quite a bit, he's been questioning all of Bomen's actions about him from the beginning.

However, his worry was needles and Ajax was underestimating Bomen's character. With an angry look in his eyes, he patted Ajax on the shoulder: "Don't worry, you're free to stay here with peace of mind. Everyone in Lazoole is my people, even if that means going up against the Ashlin Group if they ever came knocking. Our legion of more than a thousand men would fight back and whoever dares to betray his own, will meet their end at my hands!"

"Thank you, sir." Ajax nodded gratefully.

It seemed like Bomen was truly a trustworthy man, Ajax was sure that he had come to the right place.

The long-haired young man saw that Bomen was protecting Ajax and couldn't say anything about it, but there seemed to be a sense of animosity in his eyes.

Ajax was also attentive to the long-haired twat (TN: I will change his name to this until he proves himself worthy). He didn't know what he had done to offend this man, so he naturally, became weary of him.

'If he ever tries something, he will die like everyone else,' Ajax thought as he frowned when they made eye contact. This frightened the long-haired twat to hide behind Bomen. Various reports described Ajax as a lunatic, so he had reason to be afraid.

Fortunately, Bomen read the situation in time and stood between the two to prevent any unnecessary conflict. He then called for an operator to take Ajax to his new residence and to answer questions Ajax had.

After they were done, Bomen left with the long-haired twat. He was attacked today so he had a lot of things to deal with.

The operator that was called over respected Ajax very much as he was among the group of people that Ajax had saved from the ambush at the bar. He is just an ordinary man, someone who sees the title of a pilot as an unattainable dream.

After saying hello, he got in Ajax's truck to lead the way as Ajax got into his mech and followed him.

He took the initiative to chat with Ajax a lot as they made their way to Ajax's new home and even gave Ajax his nickname: Monkey.

Ajax asked some questions about the border and the Lazoole Society. Generally speaking, the triangular border is located at the junction of the Blauth Empire and the Uz Kingdom.

The two countries were the biggest countries on the planet of Bedrichi. They were close in strength, yet they held a poor relationship. In recent years, conflicts have sparked here and there from time to time.

For the sake of development, an agreement was made to create areas that the authorities of either country were prohibited from entering and could not manage it. If they did step in, it would be equivalent to declaring war.

Over time, the border has become a lawless death zone. People who would commit crimes in either country and needed to escape came here. As more people came, a community was formed sandwiched between the two countries.

And where there are people, conflicts would be sure to follow. In addition, the people here weren't the nicest, so it was common for cliques, gangs, and organizations to be created.

Among them, the Lazoole Society, the Hell's League, and the Four Tribes were developing very fast, with even strength and a three-front confrontation. People here called it a triangle, and thus, the border became known as the triangular border.

Among them, the Hell's League was the most powerful, with more than 2,000 men and more than 30 pilots in its ranks. They were xenophobic, only accepting people from the country of Uz to join, and they were strict about it.

The strength of Lazoole Society is slightly inferior to the Hell's League, with more than a thousand operators and about 20 pilots in its ranks.

The Four Tribes were the weakest, with fewer than one thousand members and fewer than ten pilots in their ranks.

The three major organizations coexist peacefully on the surface, but secretly they are constantly fighting. In order to compete for talents, supplies, and territory, they fight fiercely.

Everyone wants to annex the other two parties and become the largest organization on the border, turning the triangle into a corner.

There was even a period of time when Hell's League grew to 5,000 men and grew so arrogant that it launched a purge plan to drive out everyone who wasn't a part of them.

In the end, it was the Lazoole Society who temporarily formed an alliance with the Four Tribes and fought several waves of the Hell's League to restore the balance of the triangular border.

In addition to the three major organizations, there are also hundreds of small and medium-sized organizations entrenched here. Their battles were more brutal, but at a smaller scale and not as sophisticated.

In addition, the triangular border is very large, and the place where he was currently staying, which is similar to a small town, is nothing but a buffer zone, and most of the outsiders who have just arrived stay there.

There are more important areas such as mining areas, planting areas, and business districts deeper into the territory.

The wealthiest mining area is managed by Hell's League, the business area is occupied by their Lazoole Society, and the weak Four Tribes can only overlook the planting area.
