The mysterious curse [3]

".....3 decades later finally when the world was becoming a bit more peaceful, out of nowhere they came…."

Gulp

Lucas swallowed his saliva before continuing.

"....dark skin, humanoid creatures with horns protruding from their heads and a thick muscular tail coming out of their back, flying menacingly with a pair of bat-like wings, and releasing their dreadful demonic energy which taints the world in a black hue."

"Soon, the smell of sulphur spread across the vast plain, the world turned a shade of crimson, once beautiful rivers were now contaminated with carcasses of both demons and humans along with the other three intruding races."

"Once beautiful landscape turned into charred and barren land"

"It was a disaster, at last, after facing one too many casualties and numerous disasters, the three races namely, humans dwarves and elves made an alliance, an Alice made due to mutual interest and benefit."

"But alas there were but still two enemies to face against, the demons and the vampires."

"The vampires decided not to ally with the lower beings and started to push back the alliance, on the other front namely from the southern continent, the demons relentless attacks made the alliance bleed with s thousand cuts"

The room fell into complete silence, even the air refused to make any sound that was the tension that the three were sitting in.

"So, what does this all have to do with the curse of binding.", Zephyr asked reluctantly.

"Ah! Yes", Lucas nodded in understanding.

"About that--"

"During the Demonic Invasion the alliance decided to use ancient magic ", cutting Lucas off Cyrus decided to take things in his hand.

"Ancient magic?", Tilting his head Zephyr asked.

With a wry smile Cyrus nodded and continued.

"Ancient magic, better known as ancient high elven magic, the magic used by high elves in the ancient times on their now annexed planet, Elvenhime"

"And it was, 'Summoning Magic' and not just any summoning magic, magic depending on its grade is classified into 10 categories, and each number from 1-10 representing a tier and the power of the magic increases as the tier increases, 10 being the strongest, but what most people don't know is that there's something above 10th tier as well and that something is 'Ancient Magic'."

Zephyr's eyes slowly widened after listening to Cyrus's explanation.

"And what did they summon?", Zephyr asked, a hint of excitement and anticipation evident in his tone.

The corners of Cyrus's lips curved upward as he spread his arms dramatically and said, "A God Being, The wolf which shall bite off the head of the demons..."

".....Fenrir"

Listening to his words both Zephyr and Lucas were in awe, well his storytelling skills were just that impressive.

"But…", with a somen expression he continued, "....soon what nobody expected happened, Fenrir was almost about to fend off the demons single handedly when…..he came"

"Hiss…"

Taking in a cold breath Cyrus said in a low and grave tone, "The Demon Duke Azeroth".

"And that was the first time the world witnessed the power of curses, and the curse they used was, 'The Highest form of THE CURSE OF BINDING: GLEIPNIR' it took just one slash from Duke Azeroth's claws for the god slaying Wolf's head to roll on the ground"

Looking back at Zephyr's upper body, particularly the tattoo Cyrus said solemnly, "and unfortunately by the looks of it, the curse that's engraved on your body is awfully similar."

"The scene of Fenrir's death is clearly depicted in the records, crimson chains which erupted out of the ground bounding the beast which towered over a 100 metres, the chains which bound the wolf were accompanied by long vines with crimson and black leaves with snakes crawling all around it, it was a fear inducing and dreadful site to say the least."

"Hiss..", hearing his words Zephyr drew in a cold breath, his face stiffened as he looked down towards his tattoo, using his finger to trace the figure of the snake, he fell into deep thought.

'If what Cyrus said is true then this might really be a bigger problem than i initially thought, I mean what the actual fuck, God slaying wolf Fenrir? And it was killed by a demon with a single slash, just because of the curse, then who am I to struggle'

"Ha..ha.." , letting out a ragged breath, Zephyr slumped down on the couch, his shoulders dropped down in defeat, as his expression told that he had given up on life.

"Fufu…"

Looking at his figure Cyrus couldn't help but chuckle, shaking his hand he said.

"Don't worry too much, although i said we don't know much about the curse, what we know is that, the curse of binding can only bind one primary function, weather it be mana flow, blood circulation, thoughts, or emotions"

"What Duke Azeroth used on Fenrir was a curse which binded it's physical movement"

"So what kind of curse is mine?", Zephyr asked with a hint of nervousness mixed in his voice.

Rubbing his chin, Cyran looked at Lucas and asked, "oy, can you tell what kind of curse this is?"

Lucas just shook his head, "no".

"Hmm, it does seem a bit unique, this is the first time we have ever seen a curse like this, it neither has no presence or flow of energy, namely demonic energy."

"Demonic Energy?", Zephyr tilted his head.

"Aah! That's the mana equivalent for demons, and very harmful for humans, well it's very corrosive in nature so other than for demons it's harmful for everything else."

Nodding in understanding Zephyr closed his eyes.

'this is getting troublesome, let's try not to think about it'

The room once again fell into every silence.

Looking at how everything turned out, Cyran was satisfied.

For someone his age, Zephyr was awfully composed and collected, his calmness spoke a lot.

The way he accepted his predicament and didn't overreact is an undeniable proof of the boy's perseverance.

Clap!

Clap!

Clapping his hands, Cyran gathered the other two's attention.

"That's all I can tell you for now, hope you are not too disappointed"

Shaking his head Zephyr said, "not at all, i am grateful to you for telling me all this, tank you Cyran"

Cyran's lips curved upwards subconsciously.

Bowing his head Zephyr once again showed his gratitude to the two.

"Well, with that's now out of the way, tell me Zephyr…", suddenly Cyran's eyes flashed with a cold glint, "....do you have any memories of learning weapon arts?"

"Huh~
