Ch. 40 - Bob's Situation 2

But just like I said, He came like a Storm and left like the Wind.

There were no traces of him; we looked for him all over 'Pewter City' as well as 'Route 3', but we couldn't find him.

The only place that was left was 'Mt. Moon', but just like 'Viridian Forest', it was very difficult to progress in 'Mt. Moon'.

Good thing that a Pokemon Center was right beside the entrance of the 'Mt. Moon' or else we would have to walk from 'Pewter City' every time our Pokemon fainted, just like how we had to walk from 'Viridian City' to 'Viridian Forest' every time.

Fast forward to today, and no one has been able to find Dipper yet.

And no one has been able to cross 'Mt. Moon' yet.

Though I know, and probably other players know too but wouldn't admit it, that Dipper has successfully crossed 'Mt. Moon'.

I mean, where else would he have gone? Every player in the 'Kanto Region' is looking for him, and if he was around 'Mt. Moon', then surely someone would have seen him.

The only other explanation is that he hadn't entered the Pokemon World since his battle with Brock.

What I think is that he must have gotten some sort of quest to defeat Brock, and the reward from that quest is what allowed him to successfully cross 'Mt. Moon'.

But that is something to think about later. Currently, I have something much more urgent to attend to, which is...

[You have failed the quest 'Other side of Route 2 {Unique}']

I was in 'Mt. Moon', minding my own business when suddenly I received a notification.

What I feared has happened, as someone found a way to cut down the Small Tree and complete the quest.

Looking at the notification that appeared, I knew I needed to hurry if I wanted to find out who was the one that completed the quest.

Quickly exiting 'Mt. Moon', I started running towards 'Route 2'.

[You have entered Route 3]

Running past other players and NPC trainers on 'Route 3', there was only one thing on my mind, Who?

*Pant**Pant*

And that is where I am right now, running towards 'Route 2' to catch a glimpse of whoever is the one who cut down the Small Tree.

[You have entered Pewter City]

Though I already have a name in the back of my mind, Dipper.

[You have entered Route 2]

Soon, I reached 'Route 2', where everything is the same except the Small Tree, which was at the edge of the wooden fence blocking the other side of 'Route 2', is now gone.

Quickly, I crossed the boundary of wooden fences and entered the other side of 'Route 2'.

Now, on the other side of 'Route 2', I look around, and other than the giant stone structure, which is 'Diglett's Cave', there is nothing else.

Remembering that there are still two more quests about cutting the small tree but they are past 'Viridian Forest', and by the time I would reach there, the one who cut down the small tree might be gone.

'I guess I missed him or her.' I thought as I began to look around.

'I shouldn't enter the 'Diglett's Cave' unprepared.' I thought as I ignored the 'Diglett's Cave' for now and looked around.

The area is pretty empty and didn't have any Tall Grass. Continuing to explore further, I found a lone house.

Inside the house, there are two NPCs from which I didn't get any important information or items.

Exiting the lone house, I continue to explore and soon came across a building similar to the one in 'Viridian Forest'.

'Wait, Isn't the 'Viridian Forest' just around here on 'Route 2'? Could this building be connected to 'Viridian Forest'? That means I still have a chance of catching the one who cut down the small tree.'

[You have failed the quest 'No Viridian Forest 2 {Unique}']

A notification appears.

"Fuck, I need to hurry."

With every last bit of strength, I run towards the building, just as I enter the building another notification appears.

[You have failed the quest 'No Viridian Forest 1 {Unique}']

I am tempted to stop and interact with the NPC present in the building, but I have a much more urgent task at hand, So I continue running.

Emerging on the other side of the building, I was expecting it to be in the forest of 'Viridian Forest', but surprisingly I am again in an open area.

I also didn't receive any notification of entering 'Viridian Forest'. That means I am still on 'Route 2'.

'Did I just bypass the 'Viridian Forest'?' I thought as I continue to run.

Looking forward, I saw a ledge which I jumped over, and soon another ledge appeared.

But just as I jumped over the second ledge, I am flashbanged by a bright white light.

"Fuck" I said as I cover my eyes.

"I don't know what I will get from this, but from the information of this, it says it has a high chance of containing a Shiny Pokemon, which means I will get a Pokemon from this. And there seems to be no limit on which region Pokemon I will get."

I can hear someone talking, it must be the one who cut down the Small Trees.

Soon, my vision started to come back, a little blurry, but I could see.

"Why the hell am I thinking too much? Let's just open it, and we will know what it contains."

And just as my vision came back, I am again flashbanged but this time with a bright golden light.

"Fuck, not again."

"Cubchoo? I don't think I know this Pokemon."

Good thing that the golden light was not that intense, and my vision came back quickly.

Just as I open my eyes to look at the person whom I immediately recognized.

'Dipper'

"Hey..." Is all I could say before he turned into a white streak of light and vanished.

"Did all of his Pokemon fainted or something? But there is no Tall Grass around? Why did he turn into light and vanish"

"I guess I really missed him this time."

"Yes, you did."

"Sure did."

Two voices came from behind me which startle me.

I looked back at the source of the voice, and there stood two players, one boy, and the other one a girl, both wearing mostly black color clothes.

The most noticeable thing about them was that the boy had lavender color hair while the girl had magenta color hair.

"Who are you two?"

"It seems an introduction is required." the Girl says to the Boy

"Indeed it seems" the Boy says back.

"Prepare for our grace!" said the Girl

"And show us your care!" said the Boy as soon as the Girl stopped speaking.

"To conquer the Pokemon world!" said the Girl after the Boy

"To catch all Pokemon it has to offer!" Boy said.

"To show truth and love!" Then Girl said.

"To reach to the stars above!" Again the Boy.

"Jessie!" said the Girl named Jessie

"James!" said the Boy named James

"The Poke Duo, We are tall in height! move aside, and watch us turn the world bright!" they both said in unison.

"And who might you be?" ask Jessie

The question of Jessie snaps me out of the dazz.

"Oh, I am Bob"

"The Bob who published the guild of 'Viridian Forest'?" said James

"Yes, that's me."

"Anyway, what are both of you doing here?" I asked them.

"Same as what you are doing" replied Jessie

"Same as me...?"

"Don't act confused, you are not the only one who received the quest failure notification."

"How did you know?"

"The way you ran all the way from 'Mt. Moon' to here was a clear giveaway." said James

"Don't worry, you are not alone, many more players are making their way here." said Jessie

James came beside me, "So, did you see who was the one that cut down the Small Trees?"

"Yes, I saw him"

Jessie held me by my shoulders and said "Come on, hurry up, Tell us who was it?"

"Dipper"

Hearing my answer, Jessie let go of my shoulders.

Jessie and James both got closer and held their hands with stars in their eyes.

"It's HIM, James"

"Yes Jessie, It's HIM. We knew that if anyone is going to complete the quest, it's gotta be HIM." James said while holding Jessie's hands tightly.

"What do you mean by 'It's HIM', do you know Dipper?" I asked interrupting their weird activity.

"Of course, we know Dipper, He is our Idol" said Jessie with aggression.

"We were there in the Pewter Gym when he faced off against Brock. Ever since then, he became our Idol and we have been following his example to one day reach the top of Pokemon World." James explained with a Calm voice.

"What about you? Why are you looking for HIM?" James asked.

'Yes, Why am I looking for Dipper anyway? What is the problem I have with Dipper?'

"Do you also Idolize HIM?" asked Jessie

Before I could say anything, James interrupted me.

"It is time for us to leave Jessie" said James as a huge crowd of players appeared.

Walking close to each other Jessie and James blend into the crowd and vanish.

The question that James asked was stuck in my head.

'Why am I after him?'

'I wanted to get his help in completing the quest. No, No, I want to become as strong as him, I want to become as famous as him, I want to be the mysterious person who everyone is after, I want to be Idolized like him.'

'Yes, I want to be just like him.'

'I want to be Him.'
