|| CHAPTER 7 | Acquaintanceship (Pt. II) ||
"It seems that we didn't get to finish our last tale, little one. There seemed to be a lot more to be introduced than I had expected. However, etching the identities of their unique souls would do you good than just merely remembering them.
"Shall we continue it then~? The tale isn't finished yet.
"Now, this one will be the last of their introductions as we will move on to the next part of the story. This particular one is... peculiar, I might say. Are you ready to read the continuation of this tale with me?"
––
"H-Hello… Good m-morning... My name is Riveria Lywstel. I-I'm fifteen years old a-and my birthday is on fourteenth of February––"
"On the Crimson Strings Day then!! That's so cool!" Vinnetra, Elloise, and Yuzuru said at the same time with their eyes twinkling and sparkling with imaginary stars blinking everywhere.
"R-Really?? It's n-not though..."
"Say, why are your ears pointed? Are you an elf?"
"Hmm? She does not look like an elf though."
"U-Umm, this?? Err, I'm a hybrid, with m-my mom being a human and my father a nature elf."
"Whoooaaaa––!!"
"Ah-hem, boys. Quiet down. Give her some time to introduce herself." Asuma arched an eyebrow and gestured the curious boys to sit back down, seeing that they unconsciously stood up whilst throwing questions to the poor girl.
"Awwwww, you're no fun, Teach!"
"Blehhhh, true!!!"
Sighing heavily, Asuma allowed the pink-haired girl to continue her words with a reassuring curl up his lips. "Please, continue. Don't mind them, Lywstel."
"U-Uhh, I specialize in G-Gear Enhancements, White Bonding Magic, a-and support. Uhmm... Oh! A-and my attribute is air… and... e-err, N-NICE TO MEET YOU!!!" she stuttered–– scratch that, SHOUTED the last part, flustered and a mess.
⠀
⠀
⠀
"Hmm, who's next??"
Mumbling his words while searching for a certain brunet, Asuma's moss-green eyes then landed on Mizuto.
Nodding at the male Ichijou to introduce himself, he then stood up. All eyes turned from Riveria to Mizuto.
Surely, they already knew his name from when Yuzuru yanked him out of his seat. Introducing himself again, Mizuto got quickly to the main points of his introduction.
"My attribute, however, is Water and I specialize in Imperium Aquam: A Rune-based magic. And then there are Psychokinesis and other Water-based magic.
"I excel in defence, speed, and I'm usually the one who supports in battles. Pleased to make your acquaintances."
Mizuto finished his introduction with a slight bow at the end and proceeded to sit back down. Another male was beside him, leaning his back against the wall. He opened his light-tinged teal eyes and found that everyone was watching him.
'I guess it's my turn huh?' he thought to himself sleepily. His seemingly glowing, slightly wavy aqua hair stand out more now that he stood up.
"My name's Ichinosuke Keita. I was born on the thirty-first of May. I have an air attribute, and I excel in the Sessionem Moderatoris: A Rune-based magic, and some Fire, Water, and Earth-based magic. Look forward to our next three years together."
No one commented on his introduction as they can't seem to take their eyes off him. His beautiful features and Yuzuru's pretty face were similar to a female's features. The silence was broken by their one and only teacher, Ashitaka Asuma.
They also seemed to dismiss his habit of bobbing his head up and down once in a while. The young Spirit Wielders in the room who knew him, sweat-dropped.
'Kei, why are you dozing off after your introduction?' Shizuka minded to herself, not knowing what to voice.
"You're also from the Sun Tribe, Ichinosuke?"
After earning a soft nod from the said boy, the khaki-brown-headed man didn't bother to get more to be said from the boy. Shaking his head, Asuma continued his word, "Next!"
And yet, another male behind the former one stood up.
The boy behind Keita had soft, neck-length platinum-grey hair and Alice-blue eyes. He had almost the same height as Yuzuru. He had a soft and gentle look on his face. He then stood up slowly and began introducing himself.
"My name is Ichinose Seiya. I am also a descendant of the Sun Tribe. I'm almost fifteen and I was born on the second of August. My attribute's Water, but I usually combine it with Wind and Air element."
–– Seiya smiled softly at them, keeping it unwavering at all times that their normally awkward air would tense down at the sight of his calming smile.
It was as still as water.
The aura he emitted reminded them of the calmest seas and the softest of breezes. He was simply there, and yet, at his introduction was the point of their familiarity.
"I specialize in Polar Frost Magic. It is an original magic of mine. I can also use other Water and Air-based magic. It is nice to meet you all."
His gentle smile was contagious to those around him that most ended up smiling at his introduction.
"We have quite the number of the ones who came from the Sun Tribe, huh?" one mentioned in the heat of the moment, humming at the odd coincidence.
Another then chimed in with gleeful laughter, "And here I thought they were supposed to be 'rare,' hahaha~"
"Well, I heard that the Sun Tribe stopped their travels a few centuries ago and decided to stay in Xenorynth," Vinnetra added with an airy tone to the students at the back who were curious at the topic spoken.
He's almost as knowledgeable as the members of the Sun Tribe themselves. It's no wonder that the boy knew of their history. He's literally gushing about the topic as though he's informed in the field in every way possible.
"Woah, really?"
"Next up!"
The one who stood up next was a female with medium-length almond hair and caramel-coated vision.
Faint freckles adorned her roundish visage, making her look more adorable in the eyes of a certain platinum-blonde who was fond of everyone's looks.
"Morning my friends! My name's Yllfore Astasyah Bellephoresa. My birthday is on the sixteenth of January, my attribute's Earth.
"I specialize in Beasts and Monsters Taming and, of course, Earth-based magics. I'm usually a defender on the field."
Yllfore's quite short compared to the other females in the room, probably the shortest one in the class out of all of them.
–– she had the features of a dwarf.
Being shorter than normal and a bit bigger than others, she's confident enough to capture everyone's attention. The female dwarf grinned and beamed, "Great to meetcha all~!"
"Another Beast Tamer, huh?" Asuma mused to himself with a smile. "Splendid! Continue!"
Another one was another male with ash-blonde hair and vivid-red eyes. The boy had a scowling face for the rest of the introduction.
Standing up with his hands in his pockets, he then said rather calmly–– which was somewhat frightening, considering his permanently placed scowl.
"The name's Orion Phareander Rasialley. There's no need for you to know of my birthdate," he scoffed and continued, "My element's Fire and I specialize in attack and defence. I don't have any original magic yet, that is all."
He sat back down without another word and the next one initiatively stood up.
The next student had shoulder-length, wavy light-blue hair with a darker shade of blue eyes. He stood up and started to introduce himself in a monotone voice.
"Good morning, my name is Isseiris Michaelis Caraell," he simply spoke, not adding anything else after a few seconds of silence.
Asuma sweat-dropped and began to query, "Err, anything else, Caraell? You know, like your element and stuff?"
Isseiris crooned quietly and then added, "My attribute is Water and I specialize in Imperium Oceani and an original magic of mine."
The khaki-brown-headed teacher broke a sweat once more. He then heaved a small sigh and smiled. "That's... good enough. You can sit now, Caraell."
Isseiris did as he was told and sat wordlessly. He ignored all other stares from the students and got back to his book, continuing where he left off.
Knowing Asuma's lax nature, he prompted himself to read freely in the middle of the homeroom, despite the acquaintanceship everyone was giving.
"Hahaha, don't mind."
Asuma brushed them off with a smile and they quickly took their eyes off of Isseiris' aloof form.
"Continue on with your introduction."
Another student was a girl with ivory tresses and honeydew eyes who stood up gracefully. She was probably the one who had the longest hair as her straight locks almost had contacted with the ground.
–– it would if she hadn't tied them into two low pigtails.
"Good day to you all. My name's Nerea Silwarryn. I'm also fifteen years old and was born on the twenty-third of May.
"I excel in support and healing, as my attribute is Earth. I can also use some Water-based magics. It's very pleasing to be with you for the next three years."
The next one was another male, with spiky pine-green hair and light-onyx eyes. He had rabbit ears and a small fluffy tail to go along with them. He also wore glasses like Innyse, but his glasses were thinner. He was wearing a sweater underneath his school coat.
"Hello there, my name's Zannera Kareous. As you can see, I'm a were-rabbit. Do bear with my nature as a half-rabbit," he spoke jokingly.
"I was born on the fourth of July. My attribute is Earth, and I don't have any original magic yet. I excel in defence and support. Please take care of me for the following years."
The next seat was empty so their eyes darted towards the last person in the class that has yet to introduce himself. It's the lavender-haired boy whom Shizuka called Kishi back at the opening ceremony.
What a surprise (not)!
He stood up with his violet eyes sharp-looking, observing every student that looked at him, even though he didn't seem to care about their stares before.
"I'll just get to the point," Kishi bluntly spoke with a small grin. "I'm Ichisaki Kishi. My speciality's Void Magic and other Fire, Air, and Dark-based magic, as my attribute's Dark. Happy to make your acquaintances."
All the class 1-6 students had finally finished their introductions, with their homeroom teacher breaking their thoughts on remembering others' names.
⠀
⠀
⠀
"All right class, that's all for today! We'll now start to talk about the class commitments for the next three years you're together! Does anyone have any suggestions?"
"Ooh! Me! Me!!!"
"I have one, too!"
"Me too, sir!!!"
––
As time went by and the wheels of the day kept turning with vigour, the day had come to an end.
–– it's finally time for them to go home.
The triplets of the Ichijou Family waited patiently in the first-floor hallway, near the school's main entrance, while waiting for their brothers. In the midst of their chatters, several other students walked past them with glances and whispers.
It's probably due to their peculiar yet breath-taking appearances.
Yuzuru with his feminine visage yet somewhat muscular form immediately gathered the females' attention, much to his dismay.
Shizuka and her petite body, along with a look that rivalled the beautiful winter. With her platinum tresses that looked like the white snow and her gem-like azure eyes, one would find themselves drowned in her gaze.
Mizuto, the oldest of the three, looked the calmest. Being a Water-user added to his personality as well. However, it was only clever of them to be wary of the male.
Shizuka and Yuzuru had experienced Mizuto's wrath from time to time. And they could tell the others to just not get on the brunet's bad side or they'll end on the other side of the moon.
⠀
⠀
⠀
After a while of getting used to the other students' stares, two familiar brown heads with different shades of their said colours came into the triplets' views.
"Sorry, did you wait long?" Mitsuru asked calmly, walking at the same pace as the skipping Kazuto who knew no exhaustion even after half a day at school with possibly new friends and comrades.
Kazuto grinned and added in, "I hope not, though."
"Nah, it's quite fine," Yuzuru assured lazily, leaning onto the wall for support to his weight. Shizuka was crouching beside him with her knees to her chest.
"Come on, let's go. I want to go home!"
"Haha, calm down, Shizu. Yuuma-san will get here soon enough." Mizuto chuckled and patted the female's head softly, his fingers combing through her long blonde locks.
"I'm tired... Hahhh..."
Turning his head left and right, golden pools of orbs searched for three certain people. "Say, where are the twins and Kao-nii? Aren't they supposed to go home with us?" Yuzuru asked his teal-eyed brother.
"Ahh, about that... Kaoru-niisama has taken extra lessons and the twins also have extra practice for their middle school term. I believe they have a Magic Tournament in about three months. So, the three of them will be picked up at six later on."
"Oh, wow. Studying for the midterms this early?" Yuzuru mused with somewhat wide eyes, sarcastically scoffing afterwards.
Shizuka then giggled and chimed in, "Really? They're quite busy huh? Oh well~"
"That's your reaction?" Kazuto asked while sweat-dropping at Yuzuru.
"What else should I say? 'Let's barge in their schools and kidnap them?' Hell nah."
When they reached the gate, their family car had been waiting outside with Yuuma, the copper-haired butler beside it. "I see you have all gathered. I have received information about your three brothers. Are you ready to go home?"
"Uh-huh."
"I'm tired."
"I'm still fine though."
Deadpanning at Kazuto's statement, Shizuka went in the car immediately and plopped down into the seat, adjusting her position comfortably with Mitsuru beside her. The rest followed behind and they drove back home.
⠀
⠀
⠀
"How was your first day today children?" Yuuma questioned while keeping his eyes on the road, driving. Shizuka then replied with an exhausted smile, "It's quite fun I might say. I'm excited for our three years here."
"Annnnddddd, guess what?" Yuzuru suddenly chimed in, hopping up and down on his cushioned seat.
"What?"
"The others are there too!"
"Oh, right! Mizu-chan, Kei, Sei, and Kishi were there in the same class as us!" Shizuka chimed from her seat, beaming excited and happy that her friends are there. It seemed that her visible exhaustion from before flew away at the thoughts of her childhood friends.
"Now? All of them?"
"Uh-huh! Every one of our age from the main clans was all there. Oh, it's going to be interesting!!"
"Well, I mean, you guys are magic users. It's no surprise that the seven of you got grouped together," Kazuto pointed out with a toothy grin, opening his index finger to emphasize what he meant.
Yuuma hummed and nodded in agreement, keeping his hazel vision on the road. "What about Mahiro-kun, Kouta-kun, and Nao-kun? Have you heard anything from them?"
"Nope," the three of them replied together in response.
"I'm guessing they're in a different class then," Mitsuru assumed, with Kazuto bobbing his head up and down.
The Head Butler glanced back for a while and smiled softly. "Well, glad you're all enjoying your day. Rest up well when we get home. We're about to go somewhere tonight. I believe your father had said so."
"Yup."
"Aye, aye."
"Okay~"
And with the sun glowing bright gold and the stars beginning to woke up, they drove home and their first day at school ends here.
