CHAPTER SIX - He Loves Her?

Sighing, Lily cast a quick glance towards the doctor. She waited expectantly to inquire, "What did they say.?" In dismay, Dr. Davis shook his head. Lily left his cabin after giving him a nod and a grin.

"How?" She muttered before leaving the medical facility.

Backing his head up, Alex massaged his temple. After the night before, he felt exhausted today. His rest was interrupted by flashbacks of the previous evening. He had the impression that something bothered him greatly.

With Emily, Alex never went through such things. His eyes were closed, and his lips curled into a little smile.

"Reply to me. Are you ugly? When Lily still didn't receive a response, she requested again. Alex shrugged in the negative.

She grinned and drew him in. Alex was repulsed by the overpowering aroma of wine, but as she leaned her face close to his, his world halted and his heartbeat quickened. Lily stared into Alex's eyes as her eyes landed on his lips. Alex didn't feel like saying anything. Maybe he had the same desire. Lily touched his lips, and he widened his eyes. Her full, velvety lips made a gentle movement that stopped his heart. Before renewing the kiss, Alex pulled her in closer while closing his eyes and bending his arms around her waist. As he intensified the kiss, Alex cocked his head. They didn't want the initial kiss to finish since they were so engrossed in it. They abruptly broke off their kiss due to a lack of air. Lily held Alex's forehead while they both caught their breath. As Alex stroked her cheek, reality struck, knocking him back to earth. He regretted his guilt, which was plain to see on his face. He pondered Allen Emily. "Did I just stray and cheat on her with my wife?" He closed his eyes and drifted off into thought. I'm missing you. Lily leaned her head against Alex's shoulder and mumbled. After shaking his head, he led her to her room.

Alex peeled back his lids. He kept thinking about what happened last night, which made him uneasy. He had one query in his head. "Did Lily mean it, or was it the alcohol? " His hand hit the table hard. He looked up to hear a knock on the door.

The individual on the other side was allowed by Alex. Someone wants to meet you, Mr. Smith. He nodded into the response, according to a woman with brown hair. Before opening the door for the individual, she grinned and bowed. As Emily entered his office, Alex's eyes widened with surprise.

"You?" He inquired quietly, and Emily started crying. Because he was unable to watch her cry, his eyes became softer. As soon as he saw her, Alex raced over and forced her to sit on the couch. After filling the glass with water, he handed it to her. After grinning, Emily took the glass and drank some water. Alex kept his distance from her as he sat in front of her. I asked, "Why are you so far away from me?"

The query from Emily made Alex irate. Somehow, he managed to relax. "I feel fine here. What brought you here, please explain? He stated in a chilly tone as his eyes grew distant.

Lily left her office and emerged. When she spotted an unexpected person, she widened her eyes. She muttered under her breath, "James?"

James grinned broadly as he stood in front of her. Hello and how are you? Lily pushed her lips into a fine line as he smiled. "I am doing fine." James made a head nod. "I need to get going. See you later. I have a meeting to attend. She abandoned him once more. James sadly laughed. "Why are you torturing me like this?" His eyes began to well up with tears.

Lily was waiting for Dr. Davis and Dr. Charlotte. Since they were engaged in a lengthy surgery, it had been two hours. Dr. Charlotte emerged from the intensive care unit shortly after. As someone told her about Lily, she moved in the direction of her cabin. Dr. Charlotte entered the cabin, and Lily saluted her by standing. Dr. Charlotte returned the favor by bowing to her and motioned for her to take a seat. What brought you here, Jones Lily? Before speaking, Lily grinned. I'm here because my dad's surgeon was Dr. Davis and you. The doctor nodded. I want to know the specifics of what happened to my father. "Yes, we were." Lily's eyes started to flood up with tears as she spoke these words. He sustained some brain injuries. Someone struck him with an iron rod of some sort. On his body, he suffered burns as well. The fact that it wasn't a car accident also shocked us. I questioned the man who brought him here and he replied that he was in a car accident. He was a friend of the sufferer, so I was astonished that he was acting strangely. Dr. Charlotte shook her head as she remembered the incident. He also asked us not to notify the patient's family about it. That was also added by Dr. Charlotte.

"Do you have any records of my father's report?" In dismay, Dr. Charlotte shook her head. "Unfortunately, the record room caught fire today.

Currently, there is nothing we can do to assist you, but I can let you know who brought your father here by name.

With a piece of paper in her hand, Lily was sitting in her automobile. She looked at the paper with watery eyes and moaned. Why did you act that way? She sobbed loudly as she spoke, uttering words. She cranked the engine and sped off. After a lengthy drive, she came to a stop in front of the cemetery. She exited the vehicle and went inside the cemetery. In front of her father's grave, Lily fell on the ground. "Dad, I want to see justice for you." She sobbed uncontrollably before wiping away her tears as she experienced some measure of peace. Saying "I love you." She said something quietly and turned to go when her eyes fell on the bracelet that was lying on the ground. She grasped it in her hand as she knelt down.

When she noticed the name on it, her eyes grew wide. The Smith Hun. Lily put it in her jacket pocket, her eyes narrowed, and heaved.

After a challenging day, Alex halted his automobile as he approached his house. He exited the vehicle and walked toward the door. He let out a groan as soon as he noticed an undesirable guest inside the home. Waiting for them was Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Alex approached them and hugged his mother affectionately while completely disregarding his father. "Are you alright?" Worriedly, Mrs. Smith enquired. Alex gave a head nod. 'I'Il be." When his mother nodded, he left to get dressed.

Lily entered the home with her body numb. When her eyes met Mrs. Smith's, she attempted a smile. She scowled as Mrs. Smith gave her a bear embrace. "Go change yourself." Lily gave a small nod before ascending.

As Lily was making her way upstairs, Alex cast a quick peek at her. He hurried downstairs to the living room without saying a word. "So you don't look after your wife?" Mr. Smith said in jest.

No concern of yours. Alex gave a prompt reply. "Alex?" Her mother froze when he gazed at her. "So, you stayed where you were, didn't you?" Coldly, Mr. Smith said. "YES, I LOVE HER AND I WILL ALWAYS LOVE HER." "I DON'T CARE ABOUT THIS MARRIAGE."

Alex yelled with frustration.

"Alex." She made an effort to hold his hand. Before I lose my rage, leave. They retreated after hearing his warning. Mrs. Smith followed Mr. Smith as he furiously fled the house.

So He does love her. Lily gave a sad grin before returning to her room once more in tears.
