Nouva placed every chest before him and they were all made of Adam's Wood. This wood was too hard for him to break.
"I can only put some liquid metal inside the keyhole to understand the keyhole shape." He had to do this with each chest before creating a key suitable for unlocking it.
With great focus and concentration, Nouva got to work. This was the only method he could think of that would work.
While he was working, the eldest of the kids visited him. Having no choice, he went outside and explained a few things to them.
Nouva talked about the water tank, the golems, and the fish tank to the three. They listened intentively and understood. Their watery eyes made Nouva smile—they were so full of life.
After understanding the basics, he created a small bathhouse. Nouva was going to create a house for them, but he was too tired for that right now.
He wasn't in a rush and carefully showed them how to make a fire. He also gave them a bar of soap before going back into the house.
Now he was at it again, trying to open one of the chests.
"There we go! I managed to understand the shape of this keyhole. Seriously, though, who makes a chest out of wood?"
Afterward, Nouva formed a key in hopes that it would work. He twisted and turned the key and found that it actually worked!
"Let's go!" Overjoyed with his accomplishment, he pulled open the chest.
And there, he saw a Devil Fruit. The fruit was in the form of some unknown fruit to Nouva, but it was pitch black with pink paw marks on it.

"This is really good Devil Fruit from the Zoan class, nice!" With a satisfied expression, Nouva stored it away.
With that, he cheerfully moved onto the next chest. He used the same method and over time, he managed to open four chests.
Despite creating a key, most of the keys were flawed. By the time he opened these Four chests, Three hours had already gone by!
Nouva, of course, wasn't aware of the time but looking at a certain death timer he knew. Afterward, he began to inspect the Devil Fruits inside.
These Four fruits were the [Grow-Grow Fruit], [Bird-Bird Fruit, Ancient Zoan: Arambourgiania], [Cloud-Cloud Fruit], and the [Bear-Bear Fruit, Zoan Model: Grizzly Bear].
Nouva stood up and went downstairs, he noticed that it was eerily quiet. He gazed out the small holes in his house and noticed the golem and tiger.
They were still on standby as they were prior.
Nouva turned sharply, he could hear giggles and splashes. There he saw the siblings, playing in the water like it was a pool.
Nouva was speechless at the sight but after seeing their happy expressions, he didn't say anything.
Shaking his head, Nouva went to grab some fish from the cabin. He wanted to use a skillet to cook the fish, but he lacked butter.
"Ah, I can only cook them over the fire." As the fish roasted over the fire, Nouva told them to get out of the tub.
They got out to drink some water from the tank, something they had been doing regularly. After all, they were playing around inside of a hot tub this whole time.
"These kids don't have any spare clothes, but I've prepared a solution for this." Nouva had ordered both the tiger and golem to dig a large hole.
He summoned his new pirate ship and had it placed into this deep ditch hole. The hole was to prevent the ship from tipping over and possibly shattering.
Simply put, the hole held the ship in place. After storing the fish because none of the kids could eat without clothes, he boarded the ship.
Upon boarding the ship, Nouva sought the many useful items he had seen prior.
"As a matter of fact, I can sleep on this ship. They even have their own detergent that they've placed in jars."
There were matches, pillows, comforters, a small kitchen, and a small bathroom. The ship didn't have much money, but it was still money.
After some time, Nouva invited the kids onto the ship. Roman was big for his age, so he was able to find some fitting clothes.
As for the other two, Nouva had to cut some clothes down to size for them. There were Six rooms with some having bunk beds for extra people.
"Despite being pirates and looking the way they did; they were fairly clean people." It was one of those cases where you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
Nouva honestly preferred sleeping on this ship than in his metal cube house.
Time flew by quickly, as Nouva taught the kids how to hunt and kill animals. He created metal fishing rods and taught them how to fish, etc.
This was basic survival training.
Nouva was curious and asked them about their situation. How did they end up in their current predicament?
To put it simply, their village was raided by pirates.
Their village was usually protected by a noble familiy and the marines on sight. However, the village couldn't pay 'taxes' and was thus ignored.
The rest was just history, as the village was subjugated and many were killed. Some fortunate souls were taken as slaves to be sold.
Fortunately for them, the siblings were together but their parents weren't so fortunate.
Roman recalled those sly and sinister expressions those nobles had. He swore revenge left and right; never giving up hope that it would come.
Nouva sighed, this somewhat reminded him of Nami and Nojiko's predicament. In approximately Five years from now, Bell-mère will be murdered by Arlong.
The time drew near for Nouva to teleport to Flevance. During this time, Nouva managed to open every single chest.
He obtained a Devil Fruit from every chest he opened.

Nouva was satisfied with these fruits. A few of them were enough to tempt him but he held himself back.
At this time, Nouva checked the manual he had found back then. The title was hard to read since a lot of letters had faded away.
The manual was white and had dirty spots on the front cover. Nouva flipped through the pages and understood that it was a manual on Kenbunshoku Haki.
"I can barely translate this, how am supposed to learn it?" He tried for hours, but the manual contents were too old, rough, and faded.
Nouva was able to make out what the cover of the manual said.

"This is too disappointing." Haki was the most important thing in this world to know.
The manual was too beaten down, Nouva could only make out the picture demonstration details on the page.
He could see the demonstration of a blindfolded man but that was it. Nouva could only put the manual away for now.
Next, he pulled out the book on Rokushiki. Nouva had been reading this book for the past two days.
"This type of training won't be easy, but I'm sure I can handle it." The people in this world weren't normal.
Nouva was sure he could practice and wouldn't run into any serious problems with his body despite his age. He remembered, that when it came to kids or things in this world—logic wasn't really a factor.
Nouva just studied the book, but he didn't actually train. He planned to train, but not at the moment.
Time went by again and he noticed that the kids had gained weight and their strength had returned.
Nouva told them that they would have to undergo training to grow stronger, and he was no exception.
The day and time finally came for him to leave and head to Flevance.

"It's time to go. Time to enact my plan to get my hands on the Ope-Ope Fruit." The plan was straightforward and simple.
Nouva had 24 hours before he would be unable to return with the token. With that, he smiled before activating the [Warp Token].
"I'll be back later, so you guys can eat dinner without me." Nouva turned to the siblings and said bluntly.
They already knew this day was coming, so they weren't surprised or panicked.
"Okay, boss, we'll wait for your return!" Roman saluted and his siblings followed suit.
"Alright." Nouva flew off the deck of the ship and into the forest. Afterward, he activated one of the [Warp Tokens].
"To Flevance!" With a flash of blinding light, Nouva was warped away.
