Island (slight edit)

In front of him laid Morai's corpse. It's only been moments since he killed him with his own hands.

'I hope I never get used to this, but just accept it for what it is.' Alexander sighed

I stood there for a few seconds before hurrying towards Nojiko. It didn't take him long to get to her, and when he got to her, he noticed that he wasn't the only one that had fought.

"I see that you've been busy yourself." he said with a small laugh, but as he did, he felt pain in his chest and stopped.

"Well, when your friend over there left me here a few pirates thats been hiding just started to come out and attack me." Nojiko said with a slightly bitter tone.

Alexander went towards her and just hugged her as he was tired from all the fighting.

"Alex, what happened to your arm." Nojiko enjoyed the moment until she noticed the burn marks on his hand.

"Don't worry about it, okay. I just tried some things that I wasn't ready for, that's all." Alexander reassured her with his tired voice.

"So how do we get out of here as I there's no way we can stay here for long before the Marines get the gist of this." she said as she stroked his head with slight worry.

"We got here with Earth Eagle, but he's in no shape to fly at all, and I don't know when he will either, so our only way out is with one of their ships." he said with a sad tone when he mentioned Earth Eagle.

Alexander stopped hugging her and remembered one ship that might be what they needed, so he explained, and both of them rushed to the docks.

When they arrived, they immediately spotted Morai's ship. 'That might just be fast enough to get us away.'

Sure, the ship might be the biggest of them, but it had much more sails on it, so it should be able to compensate for it.

So after going on board the ship, the first thing they had to do was search it fast. They wouldn't want to get attacked from behind while fleeing because no one checked the ship beforehand.

While they were looking for people on the ship, they found a lot of food that they would need for the next island.

So when they had made sure that the ship was empty, they set sail out in the sea.

They hope to find some island that wasn't in the Marine's area of control. So they could stay longer as otherwise they would be forced to go from small town to small town every week to be safe.

So they just headed North, and three days later, they finally found their first island. Circling, the small island that had this creepy feeling with only a few worn-down houses.

As Alexander looked at this island, he instantly got reminded of the island Brook got sent to and definitely didn't want to go there, so they continued further north. After one day of searching around, they found a small island that could fit 3-4 houses covered in dense forest.

"This seems to be our home until the foreseeable future." Alexander said as he looked at the island while docking.

"Do we even know how to live on an island like this with no town nearby?" she said.

"Well, theres a first time for anything." he said with a small smile.

"Why are you always so optimistic in these situations?" she said with slight disbelief and curiosity.

"My parents would always say *Have hope and believe, don't always listen to the people that paint the world darker than it is.* so it's always stuck with me." he said with this weird stinging feeling in his heart.

"But that's not always a good thing as with that I've had a hard time seeing situations as they truly are." he also added.

"Your parents seem like good people." she said with a smile on her face.

"Yea, they were." he said

"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't know..." she said when she noticed he used past tense and felt regretful.

"You don't have to be sorry it is my fault for never telling you this stuff even if you have the right to know these simple things." he said with a reassuring tone.

With that, they started leaving the boat to inspect the island closer. With the size of the island, it didn't take long to look around, and Alexander was astonished by the number of fruits it existed with the size in mind.

The fruit here could probably last them an extra 2-3 weeks on the one month of supplies from the ship.

While Nojiko was looking around her side of the island, she noticed a weird fruit hanging from one of the trees. All the fruit in the trees was apples and some oranges, but she found one mysterious fruit-looking thing hanging from one of the trees, spherical fruit with oak tree texture the size of a mini basketball with small branches protruding from the top with some leaves.

With the discovery of the fruit, she immediately called Alexander for help, not knowing what it was, but she had a guess.

When Alexander arrived and saw the odd-looking fruit hanging from the tree branch, he instantly understood what she had found.

"Nojiko, it seems you found yourself a devil fruit." even with Alexander's disapproval of the devil fruits, he was ecstatic finding a devil fruit like this.

If Alexander was ecstatic, Nojiko was even happier as she started jumping in joy like a little kid. She had only heard about the mysterious powers of the devil fruits, and only the luckiest person could find one.

She was so happy that she had plucked it down from the tree and was about to eat it when Alexander stopped her and snatched the fruit from her hands.

"STOP! Nojiko, you can't just eat it like that, at least calm down before you do something as important as this." Alexander could understand her joy even some parts of him would like to eat it.

Nojiko finally realized what she was about to do felt a bit silly.

Sorry for the delay, but here's a chapter :D
