Chapter 43: Fish-men's karate

Arthur was lying on his bed, looking at the ceiling with empty eyes, his face was expressionless, but inside he was sighing deeply.

'I lost control of myself. luckily for me most of the people I attacked were a group of vulnerable people, otherwise I would have become a cold corpse by this morning.'

Arthur rolled over on his side and closed his eyes, as he began to remember the events of the previous night.

Between the folds of darkness and the ripples of light moonlight due to the waters surrounding the island, Arthur wandered around the Fish-men's island with a bloodthirsty manic expression, his eyes blood-red like a raging beast.

He searched for all the people who conspired against him and tortured and mutilated their bodies with his dagger, their scarlet blood streaked Arthur's hands, the warm and sticky feeling of human blood in his hands made his bloodthirstiness and madness increase with every passing minute.

Between the madness that surrounded him, Arthur tried to control himself and stop what he was doing, but the only thing he could do was force himself to leave his enemies alive.

"What happened to me!"

Arthur opened his eyes and asked himself this question with a gloomy expression.

Arthur's Brown pupils were rippling with a faint white light that could hardly be seen, that faint light continued to ripple for a few minutes and then disappeared.

Arthur got out of bed and began to do some stretching movements, although he was very tired but could not fall asleep because of the disturbing thoughts that filled his head.

After Arthur emptied his head of everything that was bothering him he sat down and began to organize his thoughts in an attempt to find a logical reason behind his actions.

'It started after I left that mermaid's house for the night, my consciousness started to become a little blurry and I started to move unconsciously, it was like sleepwalking or hallucinations.'

'Could it be the effect of that poison i drank?'

'No, I don't think so, I'm sure that poisons and drugs do not affect my body' during the time spent on the remote island Arthur slightly exposed his body to some types of poisons, but he found out that his body is not affected by anything.

Even after exposing himself to a large dose of snake venom and some poisonous mushrooms, all that happened to him was some stomach pain and diarrhea.

With a small sigh Arthur lay down in his bed and said in a weak voice before falling into a deep sleep:

"At least I got some benefits from my madness"

When Arthur finished his madness he sat on the roof of one of the buildings and began to write down his plans for the future, the main reason for doing this is an attempt to distract himself and forget about the issue of his madness.

By remembering the things he saw and read in his native world, Arthur began to write some random and unrelated things, but as he continued to write, he began to find order in the midst of chaos.

By gathering his knowledge that he drew from the experiences and thoughts of some people in his home world and his great knowledge of the One Piece world he built a system of secret power that could develop into something big in this world.

After collecting his thoughts in a small notebook, Arthur returned to the homes of the people he tortured, collected all their belongings, and also robbed some weak organizations to collect the initial funding for his plans.

[ 4 months later ]

Inside an empty warehouse on the outskirts of Fish-men island, Arthur stood in a strange pose resembling Karate fighters, he was wearing a simple white shirt and slightly baggy black pants, his black hair that had grown back to his neck hung down silkily showing Arthur's manly features.

Arthur closed his eyes as he moved his hand smoothly and strangely in mid-air, then with a strong rush, Arthur pushed his hand forward with great force which made the dust on the floor fly away and made his silk hair swaying in all directions.

Whoosh!

'I didn't succeed again.' with a small sigh Arthur opened his eyes and took his previous position again, then with a smooth movement he moved his hand, and suddenly he again sent his palm forward, which made the dust fly further away.

Even after doing the same move many times, a look of disappointment still hangs over his face.

'I still haven't mastered the Fish-men Karate as well as I still haven't learned anything about Armament Haki' sighed Arthur as he readjusted his hair, which had become messy due to wind manipulation.

Four months ago Odrick presented his diary to Arthur which contained the method of learning Fish-men Karate and Armament Haki.

Arthur walked calmly towards a small room in one of the corners of the warehouse, the room was a very well-equipped small bathroom, this warehouse was a training room that Odrick had prepared for Arthur.

The warehouse was located far from most residential buildings, which allowed Arthur to practice comfortably without fear of any inconvenience.

Arthur stood under the soft water falling over his head and there was a look of loss in his eyes.

"I feel like I forgot something, but what is it?" This vague feeling of forgetting something has been haunting Arthur for a few weeks, at first he thought it was just a false feeling that would go away quickly, but it didn't and this made Arthur upset.

[ 3 months later ]

Amid the blue waters and near the surface of the sea, Audric swam and there was a serious expression on his face, while he looked at Arthur, who was swimming in front of him.

Arthur closed his eyes while his hands froze in the usual karate pose, paddling with his feet at a regular speed so as not to drown.

After freezing in his position for about a minute, he opened his eyes and moved his hand with insane speed, sending a palm attack towards Odrick, Arthur's hand moved smoothly, as if the water impeding it did not exist.

Whoosh!

The water in front of Arthur moved strangely, heading towards Odrick in what looked like a stream of water under the sea.

The stream of water hit Odrick's scarred chest, Odrick didn't show any reaction and all he was doing was looking at Arthur with a look of admiration.

He swam smoothly until he arrived in front of Arthur and said:

"Congratulations to you, sir, you have reached the perfect mastery of Fish-men Karate in such a short period."

The technique of Fish-men Karate is divided into three stages, namely:

Simple mastery, mastering the basic fighting movements of the technique, punching and kicking methods like natural Karate.

Deep mastery, the ability to find harmony with nature so that there is a tangible effect of combat movements, sending waves of air when punching and kicking.

Perfect mastery, the ability to use underwater combat movements smoothly and make water a weapon to attack his enemies.

At Odrick's House, Arthur and Odrick sat at the dining table while Arthur took a sip of warm tea to set his mood.

The nagging feeling of forgetting something still lingered in Arthur's mind even some months later.

'What an important thing I forgot!' Arthur took a sip of tea while he was deep in thought, his gloomily curved eyes made Odrick realize that Arthur was upset about something.

"..."

As soon as Odrick opened his mouth to say something, he saw Arthur open his eyes in surprise and spit tea out of his mouth.

"The Eagle!"

As soon as Arthur remembered the important thing he had forgotten, he looked up at Odric to find him back in his pose, mouth open as his face was filled with tea mixed with spit.

Odrick's shocked looks were a funny thing that made Arthur smile sarcastically.

Although Arthur's action was something inappropriate, he did not show any interest, pretending that he had done nothing.

'I completely forgot that I had agreed with the eagle to meet in the new world, and I thought to myself that I had forgotten something very important' after Arthur's discomfort subsided, he calmly returned to tea.
